An Improved Round Reduction Attack on Triple DES Using Fault Injection in Loop Statement (반복문 오류 주입을 이용한 개선된 Triple DES 라운드 축소 공격)

  • The round reduction on block cipher is a fault injection attack in which an attacker inserts temporary errors in cryptographic devices and extracts a secret key by reducing the number of operational round. In this paper, we proposed an improved round reduction method to retrieve master keys by injecting a fault during operation of loop statement in the Triple DES. Using laser fault injection experiment, we also verified that the proposed attack could be applied to a pure microprocessor ATmega 128 chip in which the Triple DES algorithm was implemented. Compared with previous attack method which is required 9 faulty-correct cipher text pairs and some exhaustive searches, the proposed one could extract three 56-bit secret keys with just 5 faulty cipher texts.

  • The explanation of Tourism Guide of present whole country main tourist resort helps to understand the tourist resort.   • In this paper, we propose an efficient lighting control system design for AVR based LSDM control. This paper, an efficient lighting control system design for LSDM control be design divided as the signal control part for I/O data bus and the timer/counter part for clock signal control according to operating conditions. LSDM control logic be optimization to PORTx and DDRx register by specifying the logical value of each bit for effective control signal processing. And, the LSDM control signal by lighting control program execution of ATmega128 be designed to be LSDM lighting control by control logic operating. In this paper, a proposed lighting control system were measured to power loss rate to proved the power loss reduction about lighting status of LSDM control logic by download the lighting control program to system through serial from host PC. As a measurement result, a proposed lighting control system than the existing lighting control system were proved to be effective to the overall power consumption reduction.

  • Doors are to be the most basics of our lives from opening, closing and even keeping our property. Hence, doors have been innovated to blend in and make our daily lives more convenient. However, we find it difficult to open and close the doors manually of offices or tour zones, where they open and close at a precise time everyday. To solve this, we added a dimension of time to previous Door Locks. By this, every door with this specific door lock will open and close at a certain time we want them to open or close. Also, through the application you can control the time or use it to open and close the doors remotely. In order to do this, we systemed the door lock time system based on Java Programing language to make it easy to communicate and open or close the doors through smart phone applications, with the C programming language for the ATmega128 which will open and close the doors.

Development of Pulsating Type Electromagnetic Hammer Drive Systems (맥동파 전자해머 구동시스템의 개발)

  • This paper proposes the development of a low frequency electronic hammer drive system that is used to prevent scaling or clogging in the hopper process. The electro-mechanical hammering driving method involves the generation of vibration and impact energy. The operation principles of the electromagnetic hammer were considered by parallel/series spring coefficient analysis and the amount of kinetic energy generated was calculated from the product of the equivalent spring constant, which is coupled with the E core and the gap of between the E core and I core. In addition, the Pulsation Driving algorithm was applied to the proposed electromagnetic hammer to obtain the maximizing kinetic energy. This algorithm was then implemented by a logical AND operation process and micro-controller (atmega128) built in functions with a timer interrupt and PWM generation function. The driving circuit of the electromagnetic hammer was designed using the H-bridge type IGBT circuit. The experimental test was performed by usefulness of the developed electromagnetic hammer systems with the acceleration measurement method. The experimental result showed that the proposed system has good kinetic energy generation performance and can be applied to the hopper process.

  • Design of Sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) should be considered some properties as electricity consumption, transmission speed, range, etc., and also be needed the protection against various attacks (e.g., eavesdropping, hacking, leakage of customer's secret data, and denial of services). The stream cipher Rabbit, selected for the final eSTREAM portfolio organized by EU ECRYPT and selected as algorithm in part of ISO/IEC 18033-4 Stream Ciphers on ISO Security Standardization recently, is a high speed stream cipher suitable for WSN. Since the stream cipher Rabbit was evaluated the complexity of side-channel analysis attack as 'Medium' in a theoretical approach, thus the method of power analysis attack to the stream cipher Rabbit and the verification of our method by practical experiments were described in this paper. We implemented the stream cipher Rabbit without countermeasures of power analysis attack on IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee board with 8-bit RISC AVR microprocessor ATmega128L chip, and performed the experiments of power analysis based on difference of means and template using a Hamming weight model.

  • The Triple Data Encryption Algorithm (Triple DES) is an international standard of block cipher, which composed of two encryption processes and one decryption process of DES to increase security level. In this paper, we proposed a Differential Fault Analysis (DFA) attack to retrieve secret keys using reduction of last round execution for each DES process in the Triple DES by fault injections. From the simulation result for the proposed attack method, we could extract three 56-bit secret keys using exhaustive search attack for $2^{24}$ candidate keys which are refined from about 9 faulty-correct cipher text pairs. Using laser fault injection experiment, we also verified that the proposed DFA attack could be applied to a pure microprocessor ATmega 128 chip in which the Triple DES algorithm was implemented.

  • High power density and power conversion efficiency have been required in the power converters according to the rapid growth of industry. In this context, the next generation High Speed Train(HST) requires power converter which has high-efficiency, high-performance and high-density. In this paper, the new control technique for battery charger used for the next generation HST is proposed. The phase shift ZVZCS converter is classified according to a resonant circuit which is located in the primary or secondary side. In this paper, The PWM switching technique using all-pass filter is proposed to control ZVZCS converter which has resonant circuit in the secondary side. ATmega_128 micro controller based in all-pass filter in substitute for phase shift IC is presented to have digital control. To verify the proposed topology, the simulation and experiment are performed by using PSIM software and 1[kW] experimental set-up.

  • This paper proposes a solar tracking system without photo-sensors. The system can be classified into four modules: Solar Tracking, MPPT, ESS, and Real-Time Monitoring. Nine solar panels, as a basic unit, are adopted with grid structures of different heights to reduce wind influence and to enable solar tracking without photo-sensors. The low-cost MCU implements MPPT method which generates PWM switching signal for boost converter. The unit of ESS consists of three-series and four-parallel lithium-ion batteries in order to enable monitoring for abnormalities in temperature and electrical characteristics of battery. Four MCUs used in the system consists of two AVR Atmega128, and two Raspberry PI, and they exchanges operation informations. Experimental results of the proposed system show the solar tracking performance, the possibility of on-site and remote monitoring and the convenience of maintenance based on IoT technology.

A Development of Multi-Sensors LED Streetlight Lighting Control System Based on RTOS (RTOS 기반의 다중센서 LED 가로등 점등제어 시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, we proposed a RTOS-based lighting control system to improve energy efficiency. This proposed system, real time process was designed to the specified division of the LED streetlight control module for the RTOS-based lighting control into three different tasks. The first task transmits LED lighting signal by measuring illuminance, and the second task transmits motion detecting signal using motion detector. In the third task, lighting control to LED was designed through passed control signal from other tasks The execution status was examined ports that are directly to the ATmega128 MCU for the verification of the system, and illuminance distribution and operating conditions were verified through LED street field test. The proposed RTOS-based lighting control system has brought improving system performance and also facilitate an addition of other functions, and it was possible to optimize energy saving by intelligent lighting pattern control.
