고 Cr 주철계 육성용접부의 연삭(abrasion)마모 특성에 대한 연구 (Abrasive wear characteristics of high Cr cast iron hardfacing)

  • Abrasive wear characteristics of high Cr white cast iron-based hardfacing were investigated using the rubber wheel abrasion wear test method according with the ASTM G65-85. Mild steel was also tested for comparison with high Cr cast iron hardfacing. Wear experiments, where the applied force, wheel revolution rate and abrasive powder feed rate were selected as test valuables, were planned and analyzed by response surface method to evaluate wear statistically and quantitatively. Weight loss of high Cr cast iron hardfacing was mostly affected by the applied force and wheel revolution rate, and little by the powder feed rate. Weight loss of mild steel was greatly affected by the wheel revolution rate and powder feed rate, and slowly and steadily increased with the applied force. Abrasive wear mechanism of high Cr cast iron and mild steel was discussed in the light of the wear test results.

  • Methods for estimation of the effective stress intensity factor range (${\Delta}K_{eff}$) are evaluated for narrow and wide band random loading crack growth test data of 2024-T351 aluminum alloy. Three methods of determining $K_{op}$, visual measurement, ASTM offset compliance method, and the neural network method proposed by Kang and Song, and three methods of estimating ${\Delta}K_{eff}$, conventional, the 2/PI0 and 2/PI methods proposed by Donald and Paris, are compared in a quantitative manner by using the results of fatigue crack growth life prediction under random loading. For all $K_{op}$ determination methods discussed, the 2/PI0 and 2/PI methods of estimating ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ provide better results than conventional method for narrow and wide band random loading data.

  • Air void systems in hardened concrete has an important influence on concrete durability such as freeze-thaw resistance, water permeability, surface scaling resistance, and etc. Linear traverse method and point count method described at ASTM have been widely used to estimate the air void system in hardened concrete. These methods, however, are rarely used at present, because they require many efforts, are time consuming works, depend on each person's decision, and are not repeatable. Thus, new image analysis method using microscope and computer processes has been approached for analyzing air void system in hardened concrete. However, it is just in initial step. The purposes of this study were to develope an effective and reliable image analysis technique for estimating air void system in hardened concrete. The developed technique was proved to be accurate, reasonable and repeatable.

  • In this paper, we have investigated dispersibility, volume resistivity of nano-composite by solution mixing method. Dispersibility measured by FE-SEM(Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope. And volume resistivity measured by ASTM D991. To expect interaction used dual filler system. But, dual filler system had influence on polymer complex. So, polymer chain mobility doesn't resist.

  • The evaluation of elastic-plastic fracture characteristic was investigated in ferrite steel SA 516- Gr70 used for reactor coolant piping elbow and support skirt of pressure vessels. This paper describes the effect of temperature on J-R curve characteristic of this material. The elastic-plastic fracture mechanics parameter J is obtained with unloading compliance method. The test method were analyzed according to ASTM E 813-89 and E 1152-89. Unloading compliance $J_{IC}$ tests were performed on 1 CT specimens at varied temperatures from $25^{\circ}C$ to about $400^{\circ}C$ using a high temperature extensometer. At all temperature, valid $J_{IC}$ measurements could be made and $J_{IC}$ decreased with increasing temperature. SEM fractography schematically illustrates microvoid initiation, growth and coalescence at the tip of a preexisting crack.

  • The effect of ground granulated blast furnace slag to prevent detrimental expansion due to alkali-silica reaction was investigated through the ASTM C 1260 method. This method is one of the most commonly used method because results can be obtained within 16 days. Reactive aggregate used is a metamorphic rock. The replacement ratios of portland cement by ground granulated blast furnace slag were 0, 15, 25, 35 and 55 percent, respectively. The results indicate that 35 percent replacement of portland cement by ground granulated blast furnace slag seems to be effective to reduce alkali-silica reaction expansion under this experimental conditions.

진동감쇠특성 시험법 비교 (Comparison of Test Methods for Vibration Damping Properties)

  • There are many standard methods for measuring vibration damping properties of the beam type material. Among them, three standards ASTM E 756, ISO 6721 and JIS G 0602, are compared. Loss factor and Young's modulus of the steel beam are evaluated by using five different methods and their results are compared. Logarithmic decay method and half-power bandwidth method are used to calculate the loss factor. It was observed that Young’s modulus is agree well, but loss factors are different from test to test. So the same test method must be applied to measure damping properties.

  • In the case of surface cracked plate specimen, we can not measure the fracture toughness of ductile materials by the ASTM E 813 standard method. In this report, using the Acoustic Emission method, we found out crack initiation point and investigated fracture toughness which was calculated by FEM. The method used in this paper shows that fracture toughnes by using AE technique is reliable.

  • The unloading compliance method is the most commonly used method to evaluate the fracture resistance characteristics of a material. In dynamic loading condition, the direct current potential drop(DCPD) method has been used because the unloading compliance method can not be applied due to the discontinuity of loading. However, even in the dynamic test using DCPD method, there is a problem that the voltage drops sharply on the initiation of crack. For the reason metioned above, the normalization method was suggested on ASTM E 1820 which is revised recently, as a new method to evaluate the dynamic fracture resistance characteristic. The nomalization method can be used to obtain a fracture resistance curve directly from a load-load line displacement. In this study, we obtained two fracture resistance curves from static test of welding part of nuclear piping both by unloading compliance and nomalization method. The two curves were almost same each other, so the adaptability of the nomalization method has been proved. We conducted a dynamic fracture resistance test for the same material. The fracture resistance curve from the dynamic test was obtained by normalization method and compared to that of the static test result.

근적외선 분광학과 화학계량학에 기반한 청정 바이오연료 실시간 품질 측정 기술 개발 (Development of an On-line Measurement Method for Clean Biofuel Based on Near Infrared Spectroscopy and Chemometrics)

  • 화석연료 사용에 따른 기후 변화 문제 및 자원 고갈에 대한 염려 때문에 바이오 연료는 그 중에서 가장 바람직한 재생에너지 대안이다. 하지만 대량 생산을 할 수 있는 경제성확보가 없으면 바람직하고 현실적인 대안이라 할 수 없다. 실시간 품질측정 시스템 개발은 바이오연료의 대량생산을 위하여 반드시 필요하다. 바이오 연료 중 바이오에탄올은 ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials) D4806-10과 같은 품질 규격을 따르며 이에 명시된 평가방법을 대량 생산에 적용하려면 여러 어려움이 뒤따른다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 바이오에탄올 제품 품질 분석의 저가격화와 시간단축 및 생산 공정의 모니터링 실시간화를 해결하기 위해 근적외선 분광분석법과 화학계량학의 부분최소 자승법(Partial Least Squares)을 융합한 실시간 분광 모니터링 시스템을 새롭게 제안하였다. 수종의 전처리와 부분최소자승법을 이용하여 모델링한 결과 스펙트럼의 산란 보정, 노이즈 감소, 검량선의 유지보수 등에서 Savitzky-Golay 전처리가 가장 우수함을 보였다. 본 연구를 통해 실시간으로 품질 측정뿐만 아니라 분광분석 장치로 여러 성분을 동시에 측정 가능함을 보임으로서 비용의 절감도 가능할 것으로 예상된다. 그리고 상관계수 R2이 0.99 이상으로 실험실분석의 대체도 가능함을 보였다.
