To develop a new cultivar of King oyster mushroom white variety (Pleurotus ferulae), GW10-68 as parental strain was selected by the method of Di-mon crossing between monokaryotic strain ASI 2798-24 derived from ASI 2798 and dikaryotic strain ASI 2803. The GW10-95(ASI 2803 ${\times}$ ASI 2798-24) was shown the best cultural characteristics, selected to be a new cultivar and designed as 'Beesan No.2'. The 'Beesan No.2' was formed incompatibility line distinctly in the confrontation growth of parental strains ASI 2803, ASI 2798 and Beesan No.1. Analysis of the genetic characteristics of the new cultivar 'Beesan No.2' showed a different DNA profile as that of the control strains, ASI 2803, ASI 2798 and 'Beesan No.1', when RAPD(Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA) primer URP4 was used. The optimum temperature and pH arrange for mycelial growth were $25^{\circ}C$ and pH5~8, respectively. Fruiting body production per bottle was about 123.3 g. And also the stipe was long. This new cultivar 'Beesan No.2' of Pleurotus ferulae was characterized white-like variety of King oyster mushroom in the color of stipe, that was long and low yield compared to that of other cultuvar 'Beesan No.1'. We therefore expect that this new strain will increase of export and substitute cultivar of King oyster mushroom.

This study was carried out to obtain new cancer metastasis inhibitor from mushrooms. Extracts from 52 isolates belong to 7 species of mushrooms were prepared by water, ethanol and methanol extractions and its anti-angiogenic activity were investigated by choriollantoic membrane(CAM) assay. Water extracts of Fomitella fraxinea ASI 17003 and ASI 17009 fruiting bodies, ethanol extract of Pholiota sp. ASI 24008 and Grifola frondosa ASI 9017 fruiting bodies and methanol extract of Inonotus obliquus ASI 74012 mycelia had the potential anti-angiogenic activity of 62.5%~68.8%. Finally, Pholiota sp. ASI 24008 was selected as a producer of cancer metastasis inhibitor on the basis of their solid yield and anti-angiogenic activity, etc.
We investigated the morphological traits, hardness and color of fruting bodies on eight strains according to changes of the humidities in mushroom house in Flammulina velutipes. The morphological traits like length and thickness of stipe, diameter and thickness of pilei didn't show any relations to humidity. Variation of these traits were rather showed by strains. ASI 4065 and ASI 4031 produced the longest stipes and ASI 4103 did the shortest ones. Fruiting body of ASI 4103 showed the most thickness of stipe, diameter and thickness of pilei. The pilei of ASI 4065, ASI 4021 and the stipe of ASI 4153 was the thinest. Brightness (L) values of white strains were increased at the low humidity except ASI 4021. But chroma (a, b) value showed little variation according to the humidity. L value of brown strains usually increased at the low humidity and a chroma (a, b) value showed little variation according to the humidity. But the chroma (a) value of pilei increased and the chroma (b) value of pilei decreased at the hight humidity. Most strains were brighter at pilei than at stipes. Hardness were not any relations to the humidity. In general, hardness of stipes were higher than that of pilei and their degrees were different according to strains. Hardness of ASI 4021 was the highest and ASI 4166 was the lowest. White strains were higher than brown strains at the hardness. As a result, hardness was rather affected by strains than by humidity.
To develop a new cultivar of King oyster mushroom white variety (Pleurotus ferulae), GW10-95 as parental strain was selected by the method of Di-mon crossing between monokaryotic strain ASI 2850-24 derived from ASI 2850 and dikaryotic strain ASI 2803. The GW10-95(ASI 2803 ${\times}$ ASI 2850-24) was shown the best cultural characteristics, selected to be a new cultivar and designed as 'Beesan No.1'. The 'Beesan No.1' was formed incompatibility line distinctly in the confrontation growth of parental strains ASI 2803 and ASI 2850. Analysis of the genetic characteristics of the new cultivar 'Beesan No.1' showed a different DNA profile as that of the control strains, ASI 2803 and ASI 2850, when RAPD(Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA) primer URP6 was used. The optimum temperature and pH arrange for mycelial growth were $25^{\circ}C$ and pH5~8, respectively. Fruiting body production per bottle was about 245 g using demonstration farms. And also the stipe was thick and long. This new cultivar 'Beesan No.1' of Pleurotus ferulae was characterized by fast fruitbody formation, the stipe was thick and long and high quality yield compared to that of other cultuvars. We therefore expect that this new strain will increase of farmer's income by construction of stabilized production system.
Total eight different winter mushroom (Flammulina velutipes) strains were characterized by comparisons of fruiting body morphology, hardness and color after growing at different temperature. Although variations depending on the strains were observed, in general, both stipe length and pilus diameter were shorter while pilus thickness was bigger as growing temperatures were decreased. No significant differences in stipe thickness were observed. The ASI4065 and 4151 had the tallest stipe and the ASI4021 had the shortest stipe. The ASI4103 strain had the biggest pilus diameter. The ASI4153 had most thick pilus, while the ASI 4021 had least thick pilus. Also, the ASI4166 had the most thick stipe and the ASI4065 had the most thin stipe. The hardness of white mushrooms were increased by decreasing growth temperatures, while no relationships between the hardness of brown mushrooms. In most strains, stipe were much stronger than pilei and white mushrooms were harder than brown ones. The strain having most strong stipe was ASI4021. Both ASI 4021 and ASI4166 had the most strong pilus. The color of pilus has much lighter than that of stipe. White mushrooms had high brightness value ranging from 70-90, while brown mushrooms showed low brightness value from 30-70. Saturation value was higher in brown mushrooms. Based on our study, it was shown that environmental conditions had some effects on winter mushrooms, but genetic differences among strains were more important factors to determine most characteristics of winter mushrooms.
The aim of this study is to analyze the Weekend and January effect in the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) using daily closing prices of GSE-All Share Index (ASI) and Composite Index (CI) between the period of January 4th, 2005 and December 31st, 2013. The dataset covers the period of 2005 to 2010 (6 years) for the ASI and 2011 to 2013 (3 years) for the CI. The following results are obtained based on a parametric regression using dummy variables. First, no weekly effect or anomaly is documented for both GSE-ASI and GSE-CI. Second, market abnormalities are captured for both GSE-ASI and GSE-CI over their respective entire periods. However, no consistent April effect is found for ASI when the period was segregated into two periods of three years. The April effect is uncovered for the GSE-ASI at 5% significant level while the January effect is found for the GSE-CI at 1% significant level.

This study investigates the effect of ASI program on the improvement of gifted students' scientific creative problem solving skill and science learning motivation. ASI developed by reflecting the characteristics of scientific inquiry. The study was aimed at Twenty elementary gifted students from C Gifted Education Program participated in the sixteen sessions of ASI curriculum from June 2010 to October 2010. First, we found that the ASP program is effective to improve the gifted students' scientific creative problem solving skill overall. Specifically, the ASI was effective in the sub-catagories of scientific creative problem solving skills such as 'fluency', 'flexibility', 'originality', and 'appropriateness'. However, there was no significant change in the sub-category of 'reliability' and 'elaborateness' Second, we found that the ASP program is effective to improve the gifted students' sscience learning motivation overall. Specifically, the ASI was effective in the sub-catagories of science problem solving skills such as 'intrinsic motivation', 'correlation with personal goal', 'self-determination', and 'fear of evaluation'. However, there was no significant change in the sub-category of 'extrinsic motivation' and 'self-efficacy'. summary, the ASI program was shown to be effective for improving their scientific creative problem solving skill and scientific learning motivation; This study implies that the ASI curriculum would be a effective tool to help gifted students to improve their ascientific creative problem solving skill and their motivation to learn science.
Somatic hybrids of Pleurotus florida ASI 2016 and Pleurotus ostreatus ASI 2018 were obtained by protoplast fusion. The 40 fusants($P1{\sim}P40$) was examined for the yield on fermented and pasteurized rice straw in a tray. The carpophore yield of them were showed as the range of $27.0{\sim}155.2$, based on parental values of 100(ASI 2018), The pilei of fusants between orange white colored P. florida and dark grey colored P. ostreatus had mixed colors in the young stage. Other breeding programmes were performed to improve new varieties with high yield and good quality. A new oyster mushroom variety, Wonhyeongneutaribeosus(P72), was developed at the Agricultural Sciences Institute, Rural Development Administration in 1990. This P.florida-ostreatus-ostreatus hybrid P72 was selected from 38 protoplast fusion products($P41{\sim}P78$) between P.florida-ostreatus recombinant P5-M 43-arg rib and P. ostreatus ASI 2-13-0 2001-19-pro orn. The yield indexes of 38 hybrids ranged $40.5{\sim}152.7$ compared with the parental values of 100(ASI 2001). Hybrid P72 was characterized by the large fruiting bundle of semispherical shape with long stipe and by the small and circular pileus, resulting in lower harvesting cost. A significant increase in carpophore production was observed in somatic hybrids of protoplasts due to heterosis. A comparision of hybrid with parents P72 was made using isozyme analysis. The esterase banding patterns could be characterized by new bands in the hybrids. Seven fusion products of four crosses between P.florida ASI 2016 and P. ostreatus ASI 2018 were analysed with respect to the distribution of progenies and segregation of gene markers by random basidiospore analysis. Segregation of alleles should yield progeny of four genotypes in a Mendelian ratio of 1 : 1 : 1 : 1 for prototrophs, auxotrophs of one parental type, auxotrophs of the other parental type, and auxotrophic recombinants, respectively. However, five fusants of them did not detect one parental, P.ostreatus, type. Basidiospores could yield progeny of 16 genotypes in the cross of one of the recombinant P5-M43-arg $rib{\times}P. ostreatus$ ASI 2-13-pro orn but the segregants of three fusants were not detected clearly. The allele ratio of loci could be expected 1 : 1 : 1 : 1 for arg, rib, pro and orn. The ratio, however, would be changed to 4 : 1 : 1 : 1 with increasing proportion of argo In almost all the fusants, prototrophic recombinants were recovered in large numbers against auxotrophic markers. Parental genotypes were recovered with the recombinant progeny amounting to $38.68{\sim}99.56%$. The analysis provides proof of heterokaryosis and strong evidence for haploidy of vegetative nuclei, a sexual cycle consisting of nuclear fusion and meiosis.
To elucidate the effect of humidity to the characteristics related to mushroom cultivation, five white strains and four brown strains of Flammulina velutipes were cultivated and investigated on their characters. The periods for fruiting initiation, growth and harvest were a little decreased when humidity increased after peak at 75%. Brown strains showed fast fruiting than white ones. ASI 4103 was the fastest and ASI 4166 and ASI 4153 were the latest. The productivity of ASI 4166 and ASI 4149 were the best in all conditions. In general, white strains showed high yields at 75% and brown ones did at 95%. Individual mushroom weight decreased and water content of mushroom increased in most strains when humidity increased.
