  • A study on the micro particle blasting was conducted to find the optimum conditions of the blasted surface of aluminum 6061. The particle type such as $Al_2O_3$ and SiC, nozzle diameter, pressure, standoff distance and injection time were used as blasting conditions. Statistical method of orthogonal arrays(ANOVA) was used to find optimum conditions of maximum depth and maximum diameter of blasted surface. Particle type, nozzle diameter, and pressure were found to be the main factors of maximum blasted depth and diameter. Maximum blasted diameter was affected by increasing pressure and nozzle diameter but saturated maximum diameter. Maximum blasted depth was affected by pressure and nozzle diameter when aluminum 6061 was blasted with $Al_2O_3$ particle. The value of surface roughness was increased as pressure and nozzle diameter increased when aluminum 6061 was blasted with SiC.

  • Rainfall-runoff model of Jeju Oedo Stream was used to compute the optimal unit hydrograph by HEC-HMS model that reflecting on watershed characteristics. Each rainfall event was comparatively analyzed with the actual flow measurement using Clark, Snyder and SCS synthetic methods for derived unit hydrograph. Subsequently, the null hypothesis was established as p-value for peak flow and peak time of each unit hydrograph by one-way ANOVA(Analysis of variance) was larger than significance level of 0.05. There was no significant difference in peak flow and peak time between different methods of unit hydrograph. As a result of comparing error rate with actual flow measurement data, Clark synthetic unit graph best reflected in Oedo Stream as compared to other methods, and error rate of Clark unit hydrograph was 0.02~1.93% and error rate at peak time was 0~2.74%.

  • Hydrogen emphasis on safety management due to its high potential for accidents from wide explosive limits and low ignition energy. To prevent accidents, appropriate explosion-proof electrical equipment with installed to safe management of ignition sources. However, designing all facilities with explosion-proof structures can significantly increase costs and impose limitations. In this study, we optimize the barrier to effectively control the initial momentum in case of hydrogen release and form the control room as a non-hazardous area. We employed response surface method (RSM), the barrier distance, width and height of the barrier were set as variables. The Box-Behnken design method the selection of 15 cases, and FLACS assessed the presence of hazardous area. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) analysis resulting in an optimized barrier area. Through this methodology, the workplace can optimize the barrier according to the actual workplace conditions and classify reasonable hazardous area, which is believed to secure safety in hydrogen facilities and minimize economic burden.

  • A common interest in gene expression data analysis is to identify genes that present significant changes in expression levels among biological experimental conditions. In this paper, we develop a Bayesian approach to make a gene-by-gene comparison in the case with a control and more than one treatment experimental condition. The proposed approach is within a Bayesian framework with a Dirichlet process prior. The comparison procedure is based on a model selection procedure developed using the discreteness of the Dirichlet process and its representation via Polya urn scheme. The posterior probabilities for models considered are calculated using a Gibbs sampling algorithm. A numerical simulation study is conducted to understand and compare the performance of the proposed method in relation to usual methods based on analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by a Tukey test. The comparison among methods is made in terms of a true positive rate and false discovery rate. We find that proposed method outperforms the other methods based on ANOVA followed by a Tukey test. We also apply the methodologies to a publicly available data set on Plasmodium falciparum protein.

  • High speed machining(HSM) technique is widely used in the appliance, automobile part and mold industries, which has many advantages such as good quality, low cost and rapid machining time. but it also has problems like tool break, smooth tool path, and so on. In particular, small size end mill is easy to break, so it must be changed before interrupting operation. Generally, the tool life of small size end mill is effected by the milling conditions whose evaluated parameters are spindle, feedrate, and width of cut. The experiments are carried out by full factorial design of experiments using and orthogonal array. This paper shows optimal combination and mathematical model for tool life, and the analysis of variance(ANOVA) is employed to analyze the main effects and the interactions of these milling parameters and the second-order polynomial regression model with three independent variables is estimated to predict tool life by multiple regression analysis.

  • Endmill fillet cutting at the corner was conducted with the online measurement of cutting forces and tool deflection by a tool dynamometer and an eddy current sensor system. The profile of the machined surface was also compared with the CAD profile with a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and CALYPSO software. It was found that the end mill cutter with four blades has a better surface profile than that with two blades, and the cutting forces and tool deformation were increased as the cutting speed was increased. When the tool located at the degree $45^{\circ}$ corner was found to conduct the maximum cutting force than started to the point of the workpiece. As it was compared with the CMM and ANOVA analysis result in the case that the cutting force and tool deformation was the maximum, it was found that the result was affected by the spindle speed and the number of blades.

  • This paper deals with the study of feasibility of rotary carbide tools in the machining of aluminium alloy. A rotary tool holder was designed and manufactured for this work. Experiments were performed using Taguchi methods and regression analysis to analyse the influence of various factors and their interactions on the cutting characteristics of rotary carbide tools during machining. The cutting force is influenced the most featly at the inclination angle. The surface roughness is influenced distinctly at depth of cut. It deduced an equation to predict cutting force and surface roughness. Hence, it could be concluded here that the proposed model agrees with the experimental data satisfactorily.

  • Purpose: The aim of this paper is to reduce the stress and the disturbance occur in selective action of patient. This article will also help us to control spreading and reduce the order and bacteria produced by leprosy disease among the lepers. This will be achieved with the help of several variables and these variables help us on health benefits is 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) i.e. ratio of sectional morphology, lessor 90 degree angles, day light, universal design building and maximum ventilation. The replies from the questionnaire were collected based on varying levels of satisfaction and gloominess on the scale of 1-10. Methods: The multi-layer methodological framework for maximising the healing environment obtained from the observation of schemes and parameters of ANOVA: (Analysis Of Variance between five deciding factors) are. Firstly applied for the calculation of the patient's satisfaction for U.V light from sun on ECOTECT simulation, secondly the number of $90^{\circ}$ angle, along the corridors. Thirdly understanding the ways to represent people's perceptual structures and way finding with Space Syntax software. Fourthly the ratio of depth to height of the building typology and finally interviewing the subjects describing their special experiences based on scale value. The focus of this testing of human subjects was to receive data for the existence of image scheme in way-finding and to identify the mechanisms by which sun light impacts human (lepers) health. Results: AMPVA studies concluded that there is similarity between I and O plan as well as L and H plan whereas U plan was difference among the five selected architectural shapes. Implications: The purpose of this research is to show the effects of the I-type, L-type, C-type, U-type and O-type plan design, and to analyse the morphology for EBD (Evidence-Based Design) healing environment which is a universal design for Munghopir Karachi, in Pakistan.
