금속분리판을 이용한 고분자전해질 연료전지의 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance of the Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell Using the Metal Bipolar Plates)

  • The characteristics of the AISI bipolar plates have been investigated to replace the expensive graphite bipolar plates. It was found from the contact resistance evaluation of graphites, composites, and AISI that the contact resistance of AISI was the lowest, but it could approach to that of composites at higher compression forces. The single cell operation using the AISI bipolar plates revealed that the lower performance of the AISI single cell compared to the graphite one was due to not only the higher contact resistance but the flooding effect caused by high wettability of AISI. The performance of the AISI single cell could be improved if the channels were modified appropriately. The large size AISI single cell was operated to investigated the size effect on the performance.

초강인 AISI 4340 강의 부식 저항성 향상 및 응력부식균열 (Improvement on the Corrosion Resistance and Stress Corrosion Cracking of Ultra-high Strenght AISI 4340 Steel)

  • 초강인 AISI 4340강을 85$0^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 동안 오스테나이징 처리 후 수냉하고, 250, 400, $600^{\circ}C$에서 각각 2시간 동안 템퍼링 처리를 하였다. AISI 4340강의 인장 특성은 상온에서 측정되었다. AISI 4340강 위에 니켈 전해도금된 것과 도금되지 않은 시편의 분극 특성이 3.5wt%NaCI 수용액과 인공해수에서 측정되었다. AISI 4340강위에 니켈 전해도금된 시편은 500mV(vs. Ag/AgCI)이하의 전위에서 부식 저항이 크게 향상되었다. 그러나 1A/$\textrm{cm}^2$의 전류밀도에서 30분 이상 니켈 전해도금된 시편은 도금층에 불순물과 기공이 형성되었기 때문에 AISI 4340강의 부식 저항은 감소되었다. AISI 4340강의 수소취화형 응력부식균열을 여러 작용 응력과 음극인가전력에서 U-bend 시편을 이용하여 IN 3.5 wt% NaCI 수용액에서 조사되었고, 수소취화형 응력부식균열 거동은 주사전자현미경으로 조사되었다.

  • 본 연구는 AISI 304강의 상온 및 고온 인장실험을 수행한 결과이다. 항공구조재료로 널리 사용되고 있는 AISI 304강의 인장실험을 ASTM 규정에 따라 상온 및 고온에서 수행하였다. A Basis와 B Basis 인장강도를 평가하기 위하여 정규확률지를 사용하였다. 응력과 소성변형률과의 관계를 지수함수로 가정하는 Ramberg-Osgood 파라미터는 시험데이터의 최소제곱추정을 이용하여 구하였다. 인장실험 후 시험편의 표면을 SEM 영상과 EDX를 사용하여 관찰하였다.

  • This pitting corrosion study of welded joints of austenitic stainless steels (AISI 304L and 316L) has addressed the differentiating solidification mode using three newly introduced filler wires with a flux-cored arc welding process (FCAW). The delta ferrite (${\delta}$-ferrite) content in the welded metals increased with an increasing equivalent weight ratio of chromium/nickel ($Cr_{eq}/Ni_{eq}$). Ductility dip cracking (DDC) was observed in the welded metal containing ferrite with none of AISI 304L and 0.1% of AISI 316L. The potentiodynamic anodic polarization results revealed that the $Cr_{eq}/Ni_{eq}$ ratio in a 3.5% NaCl solution didn't much affect the pitting potential ($E_{pit}$). The AISI 316L welded metals with ${\ddot{a}}$-ferrite content of over 10% had a superior $E_{pit}$ value. Though the AISI 316L welded metal with 0.1% ferrite had larger molybdenum contents than AISI 304L specimens, it showed a similar $E_{pit}$ value because the concentration of chloride ions and the corrosion product induced severe damage near the DDC.

AISI304L과 AISI316L강의 저온프라즈마 질탄화 처리 (The low temperature plasma nitrocarburizng of AISI304L and AISI316L stainless steel)

  • AISI316L강은 AISI304L강과 기본 조성은 같지만 316L강이 약 2.5%의 Mo가 첨가되어 있다. 저온 플라즈마 질탄화 시 모재에 첨가된 Mo의 영향을 조사하기 위하여 처리온도를 변화시켜 실험하였다. 같은 처리온도의 경우 경화층의 두께는 316L강이 비교적 두껍게 형성되었다. 316L강의 경우 $450^{\circ}C$이하에서 약 25 ${\mu}m$까지 형성되었고, 306L강의 경우 $400^{\circ}C$에서 약 10 ${\mu}m$까지 형성되었다. $400^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 경화층은 두 가지시편 모두 확장된 오스테나이트 (${\gamma}_N,\;{\gamma}_c$)로 이루어져 있으나, 304L의 경우 $430^{\circ}C$부터 석출물(CrN)이 형성되기 시작하였다. 316L의 경우 $450^{\circ}C$까지 석출물이 형성되지 않았고, $480^{\circ}C$에서 석출물 (CrN)이 관찰되었다. 석출물이 형성된 시편을 제외한 모든 시편의 내식성은 모제보다 증가 하였다.

AISI 316 스테인리스강의 고온 변형특성에 관한 연구 (Rot Deformation Behavior of AISI 316 Stainless Steel)

  • The dynamic softening mechanisms of AISI 316, AISI 304 and AISI 430 stainless steels were studied with torsion test in the temperature range of $900 - 1200^{\circ}C$ and the strain rate range of $5.0x10^{-2}-5.0x10^0/sec$. The austenitic stainless steels, such as AISI 316 and AISI 304 were softened by dynamic recrystallization (DRX) during hot deformation. Also, the evolutions of flow stress and microstructure of AISI 430 ferritic stainless steel show the characteristics of continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX). To establish the quantitative equations for DRX of AISI 316 stainless steel, the evolution of flow stress curve with strain was analyzed. The critical strain (${\varepsilon}_c$) and strain for maximum softening rate (${\varepsilon}^{*}$) could be confirmed by the analysis of work hardening rate ($d{\sigma}/d{\varepsilon}={\theta}$). The volume fraction of dynamic recrystallization ($X_{DRX}$) as a function of processing variables, such as strain rate ( $\varepsilon$ ), temperature (T), and strain ( $\varepsilon$ ) were established using the ${\epsilon}_c$ and ${\varepsilon}^{*}$. For the exact prediction the ${\varepsilon}_c,\;{\varepsilon}^{*}$ and Avrami' exponent (m') were quantitatively expressed by dimensionless parameter, Z/A, respectively. It was found that the calculated results were agreed with the experimental data for the steels at my deformation conditions. Also, we can reasonably conclude that the DRX, CDRX and grain refinement of stainless steels can be achieved by large strain deformation at high Z parameter condition.

선택적 레이저 용융 공정으로 제조된 AISI 316L 합금의 인장 및 충격 인성 특성에 미치는 응력 완화 열처리의 영향 (Effect of Stress Relieving Heat Treatment on Tensile and Impact Toughness Properties of AISI 316L Alloy Manufactured by Selective Laser Melting Process)

  • In this study, an AISI 316 L alloy was manufactured using a selective laser melting (SLM) process. The tensile and impact toughness properties of the SLM AISI 316 L alloy were examined. In addition, stress relieving heat treatment (650℃ / 2 h) was performed on the as-built SLM alloy to investigate the effects of heat treatment on the mechanical properties. In the as-built SLM AISI 316 L alloy, cellular dendrite and molten pool structures were observed. Although the molten pool did not disappear following heat treatment, EBSD KAM analytical results confirmed that the fractions of the low- and high-angle boundaries decreased and increased, respectively. As the heat treatment was performed, the yield strength decreased, but the tensile strength and elongation increased only slightly. Impact toughness results revealed that the impact energy increased by 33.5% when heat treatment was applied. The deformation behavior of the SLM AISI 316 L alloy was also examined in relation to the microstructure through analyses of the tensile and impact fracture surfaces.

제조공정에 따른 강종별 잔류응력 특성에 관한 연구; AISI 1536V, AISI A387 (A Study on the Characteristics of Residual Stress in the Manufacturing Process of AISI 1536V and AISI A387)

  • This study analyzes the residual stress of AISI 1536V for an engine shaft of the shipbuilding industry and AISI A387 for a reactor shell of the chemical refining industry by the hole drilling method with a strain gauge rosette, which transforms fine mechanical changes into electrical signals. Tensile residual stress is generated in the forging and heat treatment process because specimens are affected by thermal stress and metal transformation stress. In the heat treatment process, the residual stress of AISI A387 is almost 170% the yield strength at 402 MPa. Since during the machining process, variable physical loads are applied to the material, compressive residual stress is generated. Under the same condition, the mechanical properties greatly affect the residual stress during the machining process. After the stress-relieving heat treatment process, the residual stress of AISI A387 is reduced below the yield strength at 182 MPa. Therefore, it is necessary to control the temperature, avoid rapid heat change, and select machining conditions depending on the mechanical properties of materials during manufacturing processes. In addition, to sufficiently reduce the residual stress, it is necessary to study the optimum condition of the stress-relieving heat treatment process for each material.

오스테나이트계 AISI304 스테인레스강판의 프레스 성형특성 (Press Formability of Austenitic AISI304 Stainless Steel)

  • Fundamental deformation mechanism and plastic behavior of AISI304 austenitic stainless steel were investigated to evaluate press formability. Local and uniform deformation capacity of AISI304 steel were compared to those of ferritic AISI430 steel and Al killed low carbon steel. Nine kinds of austenitic stainless steels having different austenite stabilities were made in laboratory scale to examine the transformation behavior in various deformation mode and variation of mechanical properties. Deformation path and strain distributions along edge corner of commercial sink die were illustrated and effect of austenite stability on press forming of sink die was clarified with experiments using square cup drawing tools.
