Controlling-strategy design and working-principle demonstration of novel anti-winding marine propulsion

  • A traditional propeller can easily become entangled with floating objects while operating. In this paper, we present a newly developed Electromagnetic-valve-control-based Water-jet Propulsion System (ECWPS) for an unmanned surface cleaning vessel that can be flexibly controlled via a Micro Control Unit (MCU). The double-structure was adapted to the unmanned surface cleaning vessel for floating-collection missions. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software for operating effect simulation was also used to reveal the working principle of the ECWPS under different conditions. Neglecting the assembly technique, the design level, controlling strategy, and maneuvering performance of the ECWPS reached unprecedented levels. The ECWPS mainly consists of an Electromagnetic-valve Array (EA), pipeline network, control system, and water-jet source. Both CFD analyses and experimental results show that the hydraulic characteristic of the ECWPS was predicted reasonably, which has enormous practical value and development prospects.

Achievable Sum Rate of NOMA with Negatively-Correlated Information Sources

  • As the number of connected smart devices and applications increases explosively, the existing orthogonal multiple access (OMA) techniques have become insufficient to accommodate mobile traffic, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT). Fortunately, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in the fifth generation (5G) mobile networks has been regarded as a promising solution, owing to increased spectral efficiency and massive connectivity. In this paper, we investigate the achievable data rate for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with negatively-correlated information sources (CIS). For this, based on the linear transformation of independent random variables (RV), we derive the closed-form expressions for the achievable data rates of NOMA with negatively-CIS. Then it is shown that the achievable data rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA increases for the stronger channel user, whereas the achievable data rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA decreases for the weaker channel user, compared to that of the positively-CIS NOMA for the stronger or weaker channel users, respectively. We also show that the sum rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA is larger than that of the positively-CIS NOMA. As a result, the negatively-CIS could be more efficient than the positively-CIS, when we transmit CIS over 5G NOMA networks.

A State Feedback Controller Design for a Networked Control System with a Markov Delay (마코프 지연을 갖는 네트워크 제어 시스템을 위한 상태 궤환 제어기 설계)

  • This paper proposes several suboptimal methods of designing a controller for a networked control system with state feedback where delay due to transmission error and transmission delay is modeled as a Markov process. A stability condition for a control system with Markov delay is found through an equivalent relationship that corresponding delay-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional has the same form of the Lyapunov function of an augmented control system. Several suboptimal methods of designing a controller from the stability condition are proposed to reduce complexity. A simple numerical experiment shows that a restricted subspace method which limits the search space of a matrix variable to a block diagonal form provides the best tradeoff between the complexity and performance.

  • In this paper, we have recently created self-driving cars and self-parking systems in human-friendly cars that can provide high safety and high convenience functions by recognizing the internal and external situations of automobiles in real time by incorporating next-generation electronics, information communication, and function control technologies. And with the development of connected cars, the ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) market is expected to grow rapidly. Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is an intelligent transportation system that incorporates technologies such as electronics, information, communication, and control into the transportation system, and aims to implement a next-generation transportation system suitable for the information society. By combining the technologies of connected cars and Internet of Things with software features and operating systems, future cars will serve as a service platform to connect the surrounding infrastructure on their own. This study creates a research methodology based on the Enhanced Security Model in Self-Driving Cars model. As for the types of attacks, Availability Attack, Man in the Middle Attack, Imperial Password Use, and Use Inclusive Access Control attack defense methodology are used. Along with the commercialization of 5G, various service models using advanced technologies such as autonomous vehicles, traffic information sharing systems using IoT, and AI-based mobility services are also appearing, and the growth of smart transportation is accelerating. Therefore, research was conducted to defend against hacking based on vulnerabilities of smart cars based on artificial intelligence blockchain.

Factors Affecting Accounting Policy Choice: Evidence from Small and Medium Enterprises in Vietnam

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the direction and significance of variables influencing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) decisions regarding accounting policy in Vietnam. Research data was collected through a survey of 296 subjects, including chief accountants, accountants, managers, and lecturers with practical experience in accounting work at enterprises. With the help of specialized software SPSS, determining the impact of factors on the choice of accounting policy of enterprises is done through a multivariate regression model with control tools Cronbach's alpha determination, EFA factor analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis. Research results show that there are seven factors affecting the choice of accounting policy in Vietnamese SMEs; in which, the factors information technology, legal environment, information demand, manager's awareness, and accounting qualification have a positive impact; and two factors are tax pressure, and financial leverage have a negative impact on accounting policy choice. These results are consistent with most of the previously published studies. However, in contrast to many previous studies, our research shows that accounting's psychological factor does not affect the accounting policy choice. This is consistent with the characteristics of SMEs in Vietnam because the role of accountants is not appreciated in the business.

Comparison of Classification Rules Regarding SaMD Between the Regulation EU 2017/745 and the Directive 93/42/EEC

  • The global market size of AI based SaMD for medical image in 2023 will be anticipated to reach around 620 billion won (518 million dollars). In order for Korean manufacturers to efficiently obtain CE marking for marketing in the EU countries, the paper is to introduce the recommendation and suggestion of how to reclassify SaMD based on classification rules of MDR because, after introducing the Regulation EU 2017/745, classification rules are quite modified and newly added compared to the Directive 93/42/EEC. In addition, the paper is to provide several rules of MDR that may be applicable to decide the classification of SaMD. Lastly, the paper is to examine and demonstrate various secondary data supported by qualitative data because the paper focuses on the suggestion and recommendation with a public trust on the basis of various secondary data conducted by the analysis of field data. In conclusion, the paper found that the previous classification of SaMD followed by the rule of MDD should be reclassified based on the Regulation EU 2017/745. Therefore, the suggestion and recommendation are useful for Korean manufacturers to comprehend the classification of SaMD for marketing in the EU countries.

  • In modern society, UAM (Urban Air Mobility) transportation system is being developed as an alternative to urban traffic congestion and environmental problems, and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) is a combination of vertical take-off and landing function and electric power. It is attracting attention as an innovative next-generation transportation method as an eco-friendly alternative that reduces noise and air pollution by providing efficient mobility within the city. Since eVTOL development requires designing and implementing airframes suitable for various mission purposes, the power system needs to be developed as a platform concept before airframe development. In this study, we empirically proposed a test bench concept equipped with a stable power supply and an efficient control system, essential in developing a power platform with a combined function in the form of a fuselage and module type specialized for various mission purposes. The proposed drivetrain platform test bench consists of a system verifying the stable take-off and landing software and a power platform adjusting the motor's thrust. It will serve as a verification system that can be developed.

  • 최근 개인정보가 포함된 비정형 텍스트 문서들이 유출되거나 무분별하게 공개됨으로써 정보의 주체는 물론 기업들까지 피해를 받고 있다. 데이터를 공개 및 활용하기 위해 개인정보 검출 및 비식별화 과정이 필수적이지만 정형 데이터와는 달리 비정형 데이터의 경우 해당 과정을 자동으로 처리하는 데 한계가 있다. 이를 위해 딥러닝 모델들을 사용하여 자동화하려는 연구들이 있었지만 문장 내 단어의 모호성에 대한 고려 없이 단어 개체명 정보에만 의존하여 개인정보를 검출하는 형태로 진행되었다. 따라서 문장 내 단어들 중 식별 대상인 단어들도 비식별화 되어 데이터에 대한 유용성을 저해할 수 있다는 문제점을 남겼다. 본 논문에서는 문장의 의도 정보를 단어의 개체명 학습 과정에 부가적인 정보로 활용하는 개인정보 검출 모델과 개인정보 데이터의 유용성을 고려한 비식별화 기법을 제안한다.

  • 4차 산업혁명이 도래하여 사회 전반에서 혁신적인 변화가 일어났다. 이에 따라 2022 개정 교육과정에서는 미래 사회가 요구하는 소양 및 역량 강화를 위하여 인공지능(Artificial Intelligence, AI)·소프트웨어(Software, SW)교육을 비롯한 디지털 기초 소양을 강화하는 것을 개정의 중점으로 설정하였다. 이처럼 SW교육은 정보 관련 교과를 비롯한 타 교과에서도 중요하며 따라서 비 정보과 교사도 SW관련 교육 내용을 이해해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 비 정보과 교사에게 SW연수를 실시하였고, SW교육 수업 전문성의 변화를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 사전 검사에 비해 사후 검사 결과에서 통계적으로 유의한 상승을 확인하였다. 이는 SW연수가 비 정보과 교사의 SW교육 수업 전문성 함양에 긍정적인 영향을 준다는 것을 의미한다. 그러나 본 연구는 단일집단으로 이루어진 실험을 설계하여 실시하였으므로, 이러한 변화가 처치로 인한 것인지 확인할 수 없다는 한계점이 있다. 그러므로 통제 집단 및 실험 집단 선별 과정을 거친 후속 연구 설계가 요구된다.
