  • In this paper, the wideband mono-pulse radar using AGC and limiter is designed. The output response characteristics of the mono-pulse radar using AGC and limiter are analyzed, respectively. In addition, the output response for jamming input signals is analyzed. The range tracking loop in the mono-pulse radar has robust output response to the noise jamming input signal. Although the output settling response of the AGC-based mono-pulse radar is larger than that of the limiter-based mono-pulse radar, the AGC-based mono-pulse radar has robustness to the noise jamming input signal due to feedback loop.

  • Wireless communication systems, such as WLAN or Bluetooth receivers, employ preamble data to estimate the channel characteristics, introducing stringent settling-time constraints. This makes the use of traditional closed-loop feedback automatic gain control (AGC) circuits impractical for these applications. In this paper, a compact feedforward AGC circuit is proposed to obtain a fast-settling response. The AGC has been implemented in a 0.35 ${\mu}m$ standard CMOS technology. Supplied at 1.8 V, it operates with a power consumption of 1.6 mW at frequencies as high as 100 MHz, while its gain ranges from 0 dB to 21 dB in 3 dB steps through a digital word. The settling time of the circuit is below 0.25 ${\mu}s$.

  • Three traditional Chinese medicines, Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb, Grifola umbellata (pers.) Pilat, and Gambogia, are combined to form a compound extract, AGC. In this study, the in vitro and in vivo inhibitory effects of AGC on human gastric carcinoma MGC-803 cells were demonstrated, and the molecular mechanisms underlying these effects are investigated. Our results indicate that AGC inhibited MGC-803 cell growth in a dose-dependent manner as measured by a 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, with an $IC_{50}$ of about $6.045{\pm}0.69{\mu}g/mL$. In vivo, AGC inhibited growth of human gastric carcinoma in xenograft tumors in nude mice, and the inhibitory rate reached 55.2% at 300 mg/kg. The pro-apoptotic activity of AGC was attributed to its ability to decrease the expression of Bcl-2 and Pro-caspase3 and increase the expression of Bax. These results demonstrate that AGC can effectively induce programmed cell death and may be a promising anti-tumor drug in human gastric carcinoma.

  • Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth most common cause of cancer-related death globally. The classification of advanced GC (AGC) according to molecular features has recently led to effective personalized cancer therapy for some patients. Specifically, AGC patients whose tumor cells express high levels of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) can now benefit from trastuzumab, a humanized monoclonal Ab that targets HER2. However, patients with HER2negative AGC receive limited clinical benefit from this treatment. To identify potential immune therapeutic targets in HER2negative AGC, we obtained 40 fresh AGC specimens immediately after surgical resections and subjected the CD45+ immune cells in the tumor microenvironment to multi-channel/multi-panel flow cytometry analysis. Here, we report that HER2 negativity associated with reduced overall survival (OS) and greater tumor infiltration with neutrophils and non-classical monocytes. The potential pro-tumoral activities of these cell types were confirmed by the fact that high expression of neutrophil or non-classical monocyte signature genes in the gastrointestinal tumors in The Cancer Genome Atlas, Genotype-Tissue Expression and Gene Expression Omnibus databases associated with worse OS on Kaplan-Meir plots relative to tumors with low expression of these signature genes. Moreover, advanced stage disease in the AGCs of our patients associated with greater tumor frequencies of neutrophils and non-classical monocytes than early stage disease. Thus, our study suggests that these 2 myeloid populations may serve as novel therapeutic targets for HER2negative AGC.

  • In this paper, selection criterions on selection diversity are researched. The diversity is applied to the multiple antenna system based on wireless access in vehicular environment (WAVE) standard for rapid varying channel. Least squares (LS) based decision feedback equalizer (DFE) are used for channel equalization. Received signal is regenerated by means of the decision feedback path. In the selection diversity, the regenerated signal as well as the received signal is selected according to selection criterion. The decision feedback algorithm can follow the fast speed of WAVE fading channel. To control the tracking speed of the time-varying channel, simple low pass filter is used. Finally, the estimated channel value recovers the distorted payloads. Signal power before automatic gain control (AGC) in analog stage can be used as a selection criterion. In the digital stage, signal power after AGC, noise power after AGC, signal to noise ratio after AGC and cross-correlation method can be used as selection criterions. According to the simulation results, the performance of the selection diversity is improved in comparison with that of the combining diversity for the WAVE fading channel.
