니리어모터 이송계 제어 특성분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Linear Motor Control System)

  • In order to analyze linear motor driven feed system, preliminary studies have been conducted focusing on the performance evaluation of the system based on the various combination of control gain along with acceleration. Tentative simulation revealed that due to the complexity of control system reduced number of control condition is recommended. Actual machining process with conventional feed system using endmill tool was employed as a preliminary study. Several sensing methods including AE, acceleration sensors and tool dynamometer were used. Results revealed the consistency in AE and cutting resistance. There were inconsistent empirical results in accelerometer probably due to the insensitivity of the sensor signal with respect to the experimental system

  • This paper described the positioning algorithm of partial discharge in insulation oil by acoustic method for the application of an on-line diagnosis in oil-immersed transformers. In the experiment, five AE sensors having the resonant frequency of 150 kHz were used, and a signal conditioner was fabricated. A needle-plane electrode system which is composed of a needle with a curvature radius of $10{\mu}m$ and a plane electrode with a diameter of 60 mm was installed to simulate partial discharges in insulation oil. From the time difference of arrival (TOA) of acoustic signal, we calculated the location of partial discharge in insulation oil. In the experiment, an algorithm of positioning of PD occurrence by the time difference of arrival was proposed. From the experimental results, the positioning error of PD calculated by three AE sensors was within 4%.

AE 신호에 의한 연삭가공 표면거칠기 검출 (Extraction of the Surface Roughness in Grinding Operation by Acoustic Emission Signal)

  • An in-process extraction method of the ground surface roughness is a bottle-neck and essential field in conventional machining process. We define the D.A.R.F(Dimensionless Average Roughness Factor) that has a roughness characteristic of ground surface. D.A.R.F include the absolute average and the standard deviation values which are the analytic parameters of the AE(Acoustic Emission) signal generated during the grinding operation. The theoretical equation between the surface roughness and the D.A.R.F has been derived from the linear regressive analysis and verified its availability through the experimentation on the surface grinding machine.

발전용 증기밸브 누설량 평가에 관한 연구 (Study on Evaluation of the Leak Rate for Steam Valve in Power Plant)

  • Acoustic emission technology is applied to diagnosis the internal leak and operating conditions of the major valves at nuclear power plants. The purpose of this study is to verify availability of the acoustic emission as in-situ diagnosis method. In this study, acoustic emission tests are performed when the pressurized high temperature steam flowed through gate valve(1st stage reheater valve) and glove valve(main steam dump valve) on the normal size of 4 and 8". The valve internal leak diagnosis system for practical field was designed. The acoustic emission method was applied to the valves at the site, and the background noise was measured for the abnormal plant condition. To improve the reliability, a judgment of leak on the system was used various factors which are AE parameters, trend analysis, signal level analysis and RMS(root mean square) analysis of acoustic signal emitted from the valve operating condition internal leak.

음향방출법을 응용한 복합재 날개 구조물의 정적구조 건전성 평가 (Evaluation of Static Structural Integrity for Composites Wing Structure by Acoustic Emission Technique)

  • 복합재 날개 구조물에 대한 구조 건전성 및 손상을 평가하기 위하여 정적 구조강도시험에 음향방출(AE)법이 응용되었다. 시험중 스트레인과 변위측정기법을 통하여 정적구조강도를 확인하였고, 음향방출요소 분석과 위치표정기법을 통하여 구조물의 내부 손상을 평가하고 손상위치를 찾을 수 있었다. 시험은 설계제한하중시험, 2차에 걸친 설계극한 하중시험, 파단시험이 수행되었다. 주요한 AE신호는 front lug근처의 표면에 부착된 센서에 의하여 감지되었다. 특히 1차 설계극한하중시험에서 스트레인 및 변위결과는 내부 손상을 보이지 않았으나 AE신호는 내부 손상이 이미 형성된 현상을 나타내었다. 파단시험에서는 AE활성도가 매우 활발하였고, 스트레인 및 변위의 결과는 심한 손상에 의하여 하중경로가 바뀌는 경향을 나타내었다. 음향방출법을 적용하여 정적 구조시험이 진행되는 동안 내부손상이 발생되는 하중과 위치를 정확하게 평가할 수 있었다. 본 연구로부터 음향방출법은 정적 구조강도시험에 있어 내부 손상을 평가하는데 유용한 기법임이 확인되었다.

치아 와동의 복합레진 수복시 음향방출의 시간적 발생 특성 (Time-Based Characteristics of Acoustic Emission During Dental Composite Restoration)

  • 제 1 급 와동이 모사된 비관통형 치아 시편에 수복된 복합레진의 중합 수축시 발생하는 AE 신호를 실시간으로 검출한 후 이를 분석하였다. 시간대별 발생 분포를 살펴보면, 광조사 초기에 중합 수축이 급격히 진행되는 제 I 구간에서 AE event 가 많이 관찰되었다. 제 I구간 후 AE event 발생 빈도가 낮아져 AE 가 별로 관찰되지 않은 제II구간이 있었는데, AE 신호의 발생이 적은 PMMA 는 치아에 비해 구간이 길었으며 AE 검출이 잦았던 스테인리스스틸 모형은 제 II 구간이 짧았다. AE 활성도를 나타내는 구간 특성은 수복재와 와동의 계면부에서 일어나는 균열의 발생빈도를 나타내는 것으로 사료되며 젤화점 직후의 제I 구간에서 AE 가 집중적으로 관측되는 바, 수복재와 와동 사이의 갭 형성은 바로 젤화점 직후에 만들어졌음을 가리킨다. 신호의 최대 진폭은 25-45dB 이었고 1 차 중심 주파수는 100-200kHz 와 240-400kHz 영역의 신호들이 발생하였으며 이는 레진이나 접착층의 파괴에 해당하였다.

AE 감시 장치를 이용한 센터리스 연삭 공적의 감시 (Process Monitoring of Centerless Grinding Using an AE Monitoring Unit)

  • Since grinding is a more complicated process than any other machining process, it is hard for operators to setup a grinding machine properly and to find out correctly abnormal grinding states resulting in damages to products. Abnormalities would be caused by improper setup, improper dressing/grinding conditions which are likely to be occurred without skilled operators' attention. In this study, an AE monitoring unit is developed to help operators conduct with ease setup, and set properly dressing/grinding conditions. AErms(root-mean-square) signal being monitored, on-going process states during grinding and dressing is visualized for machine operators to judge whether the processes are in good condition. Evaluation tests are carried out on centerless grinding machines-both cylindrical and internal. The developed AE monitoring system is verified to be useful to check grinding/dressing states in process even in the centerless grinding of which process is most unknown among various grinding methods because of the complex structure.

ACOUSTIC EMISSION CHARACTERISTICS OF STRESS CORROSION CRACKS IN A TYPE 304 STAINLESS STEEL TUBE

  • Acoustic emission (AE) is one of the promising methods for detecting the formation of stress corrosion cracks (SCCs) in laboratory tests. This method has the advantage of online inspection. Some studies have been conducted to investigate the characteristics of AE parameters during SCC propagation. However, it is difficult to classify the distinct features of SCC behavior. Because the previous studies were performed on slow strain rate test or compact tension specimens, it is difficult to make certain correlations between AE signals and actual SCC behavior in real tube-type specimens. In this study, the specimen was a AISI 304 stainless steel tube widely applied in the nuclear industry, and an accelerated test was conducted at high temperature and pressure with a corrosive environmental condition. The study result indicated that intense AE signals were mainly detected in the elastic deformation region, and a good correlation was observed between AE activity and crack growth. By contrast, the behavior of accumulated counts was divided into four regions. According to the waveform analysis, a specific waveform pattern was observed during SCC development. It is suggested that AE can be used to detect and monitor SCC initiation and propagation in actual tubes.

  • This paper aims at reviewing the Possibility application over normal or abnormal, detection used by AE and the wear characteristics of grinding process. In this study, when diamond bur in dentistry with chosen grinding conditions were tuned at grinding. The variation of grinding resistance and hE signal is detected by the use of AE measuring system. The tests are carried out in accordance with diamond burs and workpiece; arcyl and bovine. According to the experiment results, the following can be expected; AE has the possibility to detect the state normality and abnormality. However, the grinding resistance measuring can find it difficult to detect it. It can be accurately excerpted from AE occurrence pattern in contact start point of diamond bur and bovine, grinding condition and derailment point. It is known that AE$\_$rms/ is well compatible with grinding resistance. According to the increase of the material removal rate, the specific energy of the diamond bur is inclined to decrease and the grinding resistance has a tendency to increase.

ADI재의 드릴가공시 절삭저항 및 AE신호에 의한 공구마멸상해의 검출 (Monitoring of Tool Wear Condition by Cutting Resistance and AE Signal in Drilling ADI Material.)

  • For the purpose of monitoring the abnormal state in proportion to cutting in automatic production process, the 3 kinds of specimens different from mechanical properties by austempering through temperature variation were manufactured, and the effects of tool wear on thrust and AE RMS was analyzed with sequential drilling in in-process. When the ADI specimens were drilled, the relationship of thrust and AE RMS with flank wear was studied through experiments, and it is confirmed that the reliable wear state is able to be monitored by using these signals. It was shown that thrust and AE RMS increased slowly till flank wear reached to V$_{B}$ = 0.25mm, and they increased steeply over the value. The effective tool exchange time was able to be pre-estimated by using this fact. It was validated that the tool breakage was able to be detected on the real time by monitoring in in-process.s.
