ADSL은 일반 가정이나 SOHO에서 Internet access나 Remote LAN Access와 같은 application을 대상으로 사용하기에 적합하다. 제 2장에서는 CPN에서의 configuration, usage scenario를 알아보고 splitter configuration들과 PDN, SM, TE간의 interface가 어떻게 정의되는가를 살펴보았다. 제 3장에서는 central office의 configuration을 간단히 살펴보고, DSLAM 및 service provider network의 requirement들을 알아보았다. 제 4장에서는 원활한 network adaptation 및 service를 위한 Frame based 및 ATM based ADSL architecture들에 대해 언급하고 가능한 protocol stacks들에 대해 간단히 알아보았다. 또한 home network이나 corporate network에서 필요한 tunneling protocol이나 firewall의 구현가능성도 검토하였다. 현재 이러한 내용들이 ADSL Forum에서 활발히 논의되고 있으나, UADSL을 비롯한 ADSL의 대규모 설치에 따른 field trial 및 service를 통해 장단점이 검증될 것으로 보이며 따라서 앞으로 $1\sim2$년 후에나 좀더 효율적인 ADSL architecture, interface 및 protocol이 표준모델로 정착될 것으로 보인다.

One of the technologies which accelerate data transmission rate on the Internet is ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line), which enables the fast growth of the information age by providing infrastructures for the high speed Internet access. The network architecture of the ADSL service is the FTTC(Fiber To The Curb) which consists of fiber netwoks and copper based subscriber lines. The ADSL is a technology that utilizes the existing subscriber line efficiently. In the FTTC architecture, the major factors that degrade the quality of the ADSL service are the copper wires in the subscriber loops. This paper examines the characteristics of the subscriber lines that affect the high speed Internet access in deploying the ADSL services and also analyzes the mutual relationships between each line characteristic and its performance.

This paper is describing an ADSL access network configuration by packet mode and analyzed the performance of this ADSL network. We are interesting in difference between ATM mode and packet mode concerning to the performance and service availability. So, this paper has described the characteristics of packet mode ADSL network.

본 고에서는 ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Lines) 서비스를 DMT(Digital Multichannel Transmitter) 시스템 모델에 관하여 고찰한다. CSA(Carrier Service Area) 구역에서 6Mb/s급의 다중반송파변조방식(multi-carrier modulation)을 전송방식으로 하는 ADSL-3급 서비스가 가능한 가입자 루프 및 전송신호 특성을 고려한 설계 요구 조건을 살펴보고, 이를 만족하는 DMT ADSL 시스템 모델, 등화기 구조 및 DMT ADSL시스템의 성능예측방법을 고찰함으로써 보다 나은 성능의 ADSL시스템 구현을 위한 설계방향을 제시하고자 한다.

This study explored the patterns of activities and interactions among participants in the adoption process of a new system innovation, ADSL, in Korea, using an integrative framework of innovation system and strategic decision-making process for uncertainty reduction. An in-depth case analysis was undertaken to identify the adoption process of ADSL innovation, as a case in point, in conjunction with activities and interactions among related parties such as government, service providers, equipment suppliers, and content providers. The results of case analysis revealed that as the level of uncertainty in the adoption of ADSL innovation decreases, the focus of decision-making activities moves from scoping, to searching, to evaluating and to committing. Also this study found that at the early stage of ADSL adoption with higher level of uncertainty, government plays a pivotal role in coordination of related parties to participate in the innovation process, while service providers replaced this role at later stage of innovation with lower level of uncertainty. This study discussed theoretical and policy implications for the adoption of new system innovations with varying degrees of uncertainty.

Recently, xDSL(x Digital Subscriber Line) service has got more and more interest not only in Korea but also all around the world. Many of telecom service companies around the world began to supply ADSL service, a kind of xDSL. And VDSL has been emerging as the next-generation technology of this ADSL. VDSL is very hish bit rate digital subscriber line and the fastest service of xDSL. VDSL is enough to service IP Multicasting, VoD, Broadcast video and etc. which become more important. In this paper we'd like to help making most suitable situation of Internet service by designing this VDSL networks architecture.

Since the problem of IP address shortage is caused by the explosive increases of demand for internet service, the IETF has defined the NAT and NAPT that users are able to designate and utilize a private IP address area for their own purposes. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a network module for integration of ADSL-IP Sharer using ATMOS, which uses a global IP address to work through ADSL and NAPT for simultaneous PC accesses to a broadband line. we have tested and analyzed the performance of the proposed network module for integration of ADSL-IP Sharer using ATMOS

Since the advent of an information era, the traffic of communication has been remarkably increasing and the information service has gradually become speedy and popular. With these trends, it is necessary to extend the utilization of existing twist pair cables for PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) to provide high speed data services for telephone subscribers, In this paper, we have studied on a structure of discrete multi-tone ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Lines) system which can support high speed multimedia service using a twist pair cable, and analyzed the transmission performance by computer simulations.

The high-speed data service is on the increase and on the development because of using the coaxial cable which hold the most part of subscriber's loop, the transmission rate in a subscriber line has influenced by an external-electromagnetic factor such as the falling of a thunderbolt and the electromagnetic induction on transmission line. this external environment gets the noise of a communications line and then has an influence to the transmission speed and quality for the high-speed data service. this paper makes an analysis of noise characteristic appeared a subscriber communications line, measures a transmission speed per each cable-distance and resolves these relationship by putting the noise, which has affected extensively the transmission quality of ADSL service, into a subscriber line.
