  • We investigated the e-learning platforms for higher education in developing countries. First, we introduced e-learning environmental factors such as ICT technology as well as ASEAN Cyber University (ACU) project for developing countries. And then, we presented Cambodian case as an example of e-learning platform for developing countries. We analyzed the national education policy and ICT environment as well as the demands and obstacles of e-learning in Cambodia. We derived e-learning strategies and plans based on the analysis results, and finally proposed e-learning platform C-MOOC Net. In order to verify the proposed scheme, we developed prototype of C-MOOC Net system which is implemented based on open software. As a result, we have met the requirement of networking the C-MOOC hub, supporting localization of local language and personalization of favorite courses respectively.

  • The development of non-precious metal based electrocatalysts is highly desired for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) as alternates to noble metal based ORR electrocatalysts. Herein, we report mononulcear copper(II) complex $[CuLbpy]ClO_4$ (L=4-[(2-hydroxyphenylimino)methyl]benzoic acid) containing poly(allylamine.HCl) polymer (PAlACuLbpy) as an electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). PAlACuLbpy was mixed with poly(acrylic acid) and tetraethylortho silicate to prepare a composite and then deposited on the screen printed electrode surface. The modified electrode (PAlACuLbpy/PCE) is highly stable and showed a quasi-reversible redox behavior with $E_{1/2}=-0.2V$ vs. Ag/AgCl(3 M KCl) in 0.1 M phosphate buffer at pH 7 under argon atmosphere. PAlACuLbpy/PCE exhibited a remarkable ORR activity with an onset potential of -0.1 V vs Ag/AgCl in 0.1 M PB (pH 7) in the presence of oxygen. The kinetics for ORR was studied by rotating disk voltammetry in neutral aqueous medium and the results indicated that the number of electrons involving in the ORR is four and the conversion products are water and hydrogen peroxide.

  • Objective : In this study, we have discovered that Korean Bee-Venom therapy is effective in treating various hip joint diseases. For example, A vacular Necrosis, Degenerative Arthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Methods & Results: We have treated three cases of affections of the hip(eg. Degenerative arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis and Avascular Necrosis of Femoral Head) with Korean Bee-Venom therapy and herbal acupuncture treatments. For acupuncture, Korean Bee-Venom therapy was observed for its pain relieving effects. Korean Bee-Venom therapy was treated on the following acupuncture points: GB29(Koryo), GB30(Hwando:環跳), ST36(Chok-samni:足三理). As the results of these treatments, a little change of inflammation around the hip joint on X-ray scan study was observed. but the degree of pain and range of motion were improved. in addition to general conditions of the patients. Conclusions: Based on the clinical results, Korean Bee-Venom therapy is believed to be effective for treating Avascular Necrosis of Femoral Head, Degenerative arthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis of hip joint. However, it is expected that further studies should be conducted to provide more objective information.

  • NORAD Two Line Elements (TLE) are widely used for the increasing number of small satellite mission operations and analysis. However, due to the irregular periodicity of generation of the NORAD TLE, a new TLE that is independent of NORAD is required. A TLE type Orbit Determination (TLEOD) has been developed for the generation of a new TLE. Thus, the TLEOD system can provide an Antenna Control Unit (ACU) with the orbit determination result in the type of a TLE, which provides a simple interface for the commercialized ACU system. For the TLEOD system, NORAD SGP4 was used to make a new orbit determination system. In addition, a least squares method was implemented for the TLEOD system with the GPS navigation solutions of the KOMPSAT-1. Considering both the Orbit Propagation (OP) difference and the tendency of $B^{*}$ value, the preferable span of the day in the observation data was selected to be 3 days. Through the OD with 3 days observation data, the OP difference was derived and compared with that of Mission Analysis and Planning (MAPS) for the KOMPSAT-1. It has the extent from 2 km after sit days to 4 km after seven days. This is qualified enough for the efficiency of an ACU in image reception and processing center of the KOMPSAT-2.

  • Objectives : This study is to reveal the origin of Mingtangyangfutu in "YiXueRenMen". Methods : This study compares and analyzes it with MingTang diagrams in reference books of "YiXueRenMen", MingTang diagrams and diagrams of bronze statues for acu-moxibustion in those days. Results : The origins of Mingtangyangfutu cannot be found in the citations. The argument that it is copied and simplified from MingTang diagrams in "JinLanXunJing(金蘭循經)" lacks its grounds. As MingTang diagrams in "TongRenShuXueZhengJiuTuJing" and "ZhenJiuJuYing" have less information than it, they were nothing more than references when it drew. Apparel of man, the first acupoint, the last acupoint and orders of acupoints of their meridians in it are different from ones in MingTang diagrams and diagrams of bronze statues for acu-moxibustion. Conclusions : Mingtangyangfutu is not a copied and simplified version of MingTang diagrams in "JinLanXunJing", but is one to add new information for MingTang diagrams in "TongRenShuXueZhengJiuTuJing", "ZhenJiuJuYing", or has a separate rationale (Gajeongdongin(嘉靖銅人) related to at the time.

  • In this study, the prevalence of osteoporosis was predicted based on 10 independent variables such as age, weight, and alcohol consumption and 4 tree-based machine-learning models, and the performance of each model was compared. Also the model with the highest performance was used to check the performance by clearing the independent variable, and Area Under Curve(ACU) was utilized to evaluate the performance of the model. The ACU for each model was Decision tree 0.663, Random forest 0.704, GBM 0.702, and XGBoost 0.710 and the importance of the variable was shown in the order of age, weight, and family history. As a result of using XGBoost, the highest performance model and clearing independent variables, the ACU shows the best performance of 0.750 with 7 independent variables. This data suggests that this method be applied to predict osteoporosis, but also other various diseases. In addition, it is expected to be used as basic data for big data research in the health care field.

  • Objectives : In this research, it was investigate that had effects on acupuncture techniques of $HT_{8}$(Shaofu) and $LR_{2}$(Xingjian) acupoints in high fat rats. We recorded data of weight gain, food intake, food efficiency, total cholesterol, triglyceride, AST, ALT, r-GTP, total bilirubin on rats fed high fat diet for 10 weeks. Methods : We divided experimental groups into four. Group of high-fat diet feeding and no treatment was control, group of high-fat diet feeding and acupuncture at $HT_{8}{\cdot}LR_{2}$ was Acu-1, group of high-fat diet feeding and acupuncture at $HT_{8}{\cdot}LR_{2}$ and rotated counter-clockwise 36times was Acu-2, high-fat diet feeding and acupuncture at $HT_{8}$(body direction)${\cdot}LR_{2}$(lower limb direction) and rotated counter-clockwise 36times was Acu-3. Results : In Acu-3 group, body weight on 2 weeks after starting acupuncture, food efficiency and the level of serum total cholesterol were decreased, and the level of HDL-cholesterol was increased. In Acu-1 group, the level of triglyceride was increased but ALT was decreased. Conclusions : These results suggest that treatment of acupuncture at $HT_{8}$(body direction)${\cdot}LR_{2}$(lower limb direction) and rotated counter-clockwise 36times may be having the influence on high fat by controlling the level of serum total cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol.

  • Objective : The meridian theory in oriental medicine explains that each acu-point has a characteristic functional effect. It will be supposed that an acupuncture stimulation on different acu-point evokes different activation on different areas in the central nervous system(CNS) according to the meridian theory. On this supposition, our group tried the semi-quantitative [14C]2-deoxyglucose([14C]2-DG) autoradiography on the acupuncture stimulation to the hindlimb acu-points of Sprague-Dawley rats. Methods : A venous catheter for the intravenous administration of isotope was equipped in the right external jugular vein on 3 days prior to the [14C]2-DG study. On the day of the study, two acupuncture needles were inserted into the ST36(Zusanli) or LR3(Taichong) on the left hindlimb. Electro-acupuncture stimulation (2 Hz, 5 ms, 1~3 mA, 15 minutes) started just before the i.v. injection of [14C]2-DG ($25{\mu}Ci/rat$). The brain and the spinal cord were removed and processed for the [14C] 2-DG autoradiography. Results : The EA stimulation on ST36 reveals over 120% metaboilc activation in Arcuate nucleus, Anterior pretectal nucleus, Dorsal cochlear nucleus, Interposed cerebellar nucleus, and Nucleus of Darkschewitsch. The EA stimulation on LR3 reveals over 120% metaboilc activation in Lateral habenula nucleus, Medial vestibular nucleus, Ventromedial thalamic nucleus, Anteroventral thalamic nucleus, Anterior cingulate cortex, Dentate gyrus, Antero cortical amygdaloid nucleus, Anterior pretectal nucleus, and Dorsal tegmental nucleus compared with the non EA stimulation control group. Conclusion : These results demonstrate that the different acu-points evoke the different activations in brain areas. And with this functional brain mapping study, a new scientific elucidation for the basis of the acupuncture-meridian theory in oriental medicine through differences of activated area in CNS according to the each acupuncture point.
