Digital Implementation of Delta Modulation Technique for Current-Fed Active Power Filters (전류형 능동필터를 위한 델타변조제어기법의 디지탈 구현)

  • This paper presents a digital implementation of delta modulation Technique for Active Power Filters. Delta modulated scheme is to control the harmonic-compensating current indirectly by adjusting the capacitor voltage to be sinusoidal. The overall control system has two feedback loops. One is the outer propotional feedback for loop regulating the dc current of active filters and the other is the inner feedback loop for maintaining the ac current waveform to be sinusoidal, and have zero power factor angle(i.e. unity power factor). The characteristics of the proposed is investigated by digital simulation using ACSL and experimental results are obtained by TMS370C756 Single-Chip Microprocessor relative to analog delta modulation technique.

  • This paper describes a design of an induction motor control system using a 2 degree-of-freedom PI controller to compensate the effects of disturbance without degrading tracking performance. On the basis of vector control principle, the control system is simulated by using the ACSL and implemented on a DSP system(TMS320C31). In designing the 2 DOF controller, we can tune the performance of either the tracking or disturbance rejection independently without affecting the other. With the experimental results, the 2 DOF controller has shown a better performance in command tracking and disturbance rejection than a conventional PI controller.

  • In this paper, a vibration suppression method using an energy stored in winding inductance and an induced voltage of the Linear Stepping Motor(LSM) is shown, and it is applied to a new one-phase excitation method. And a magnetic equivalent circuit is based on the structure of the LSM, and then the electric equivalent circuit of the LSM is derived by solving equations for the magnetic equivalent circuit. Several dynamic characteristics of the LSM are analyzed by the ACSL with the voltage equations, the force equations and the kinetic equation, and are measured by experimental system.

  • This paper describes a design of an induction motor control system for industrial sewing machines. On the basis of vector control principle, the control system is simulated by using the ACSL, implemented on a DSP(TMS320C31).A space vector modulation is used as the inverter switching strategy. For the application of industrial sewing machines, A fast acceleration (deceleration) and removal of velocity ripples are required, because a sewing quality and sewing machines life time depends on these characteristics. The designed control system has fast dynamic characteristics and small speed vibration. The result is applied to the industrial sewing machine and result are shown.

  • In this paper, traction system for urban transit maglev system is proposed. Using vector control strategy to control magnitude and frequency of output voltage transiently is general. But in case of traction system for railway vehicle, it is impossible that adapt vector control because there is one-pulse mode in a high speed region. So this paper proposes the control strategy using vector control in a low speed region and slip frequency control in a high speed region. And also proposes overmodulation method that makesto change in one-pulse mode softly. The performance of traction system will be verified by simulation results using ACSL.

  • The complex sensorless control scheme is not practical for use in the field of home appliance systems because it is not economical. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a simplified sensorless control scheme that is composed of least calculation to estimate the rotor position. This paper presents the principle of the rotor position estimation with comparison of the estimated flux linkage and reference flux linkage. In order to verify the feasibility of the control scheme, ACSL is used for the simulation and TI DSP TMS320F240 is used for the experiment.

  • In this paper a control method to compensate the fluctuation in source voltage by using reactive current is presented. When the source voltage is changed within $\pm$10[%] range, the unit power factor is carried out. Otherwise, the converter is controlled by variable power factor. By using above control, the converter input voltage is maintained constantly. And then it was certified by simulation with the ACSL and several experiments.

  • The conventional APF(Active Power Filter) system performs only function which is compensated for source harmonic by injecting harmonic compensation current as well as reactive power component by PWM. This paper presents a new APF which provides the combined functions of VC(Voltage Compensator) and conventional APF, because the structure of APF is similar to stand- alone UPS in parallel type. Single-chip microprocessor plays an important role in controlling each function. Simulation obtained from ACSL are shown to verify multi-functions of new APP.

  • A controller of interconnected power systems is investigated using an optimal multidimensional variable structure control. The switching hyperplane of the variable structure stabilizer is obtained by minimizing a quadratic performance index in continuous-time. A special feature of the optimal multidimensional variable structure stabilizer is that, when it is operated in the so-called sliding mode, the system response becomes insensitive to changes in the plant parameters. A digital simulation is performed by a digital computer using the Advanced Continuous Simulation Language (ACSL) package, which shows that the dynamic performance of the power system in response to mechanical torque changes is improved when optimal multidimensional variable sturcture stabilizers are employed.

  • In this paper, a voltage equations, a thrust force equations and kinetic equation are derived from the basic structure of a 2-phase hybrid type linear stepping motor(HLSM). And a micro-stepping method in order to eliminate effectively the resonant phenomena and to increase the positional resolution of the HLSM was proposed. The proposed micro-stepping method can divide one step into the maximum 128 micro-steps under simple control system. The dynamic characteristics of proposed micro-stepping method were analyzed by the ACSL(Advanced Continuous Simulation Language) with the voltage equations, the thrust force equations and the kinetic equation, and were measured by laser experimental system. As the result, the justice of theory was confirmed, and the resonant phenomena, the positional resolution and dynamic thrust were improved by the proposed micro-stepping method.
