Sandwich sheet samples comprising AA1050/AA1050/AA1050, AA3003/AA1050/AA3003, AA3003 AA3003 AA3003. AA1050/AA3003/AA1050, SUS430/AA3003/SUS430, AA3003/SUS430/AA3003 and SUS430/SUS430/SUS430 were cold rolled in order to clarify the evolution of strain states md textures in the sandwich samples. To investigate the effect of stacking sequences of the samples on strain and texture, the relative contribution of each layer to the total reduction was measured and textures of the mid-layer sheet of sandwich samples were determined.
The plastic strain ratio is one of the factors of the deep drawability of metal sheets. The plastic strain ratio of Al sheet is low value. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the plastic strain ratio in order to improve the deep draw ability of the Al sheet. This study investigated the increase of the plastic strain ratio and the texture change of AA3003 sheet after the hot asymmetric rolling. The average plastic strain ratio of the initial AA3003 sheets was 0.69. After 83% hot asymmetric rolling at $200^{\circ}C$, the average plastic strain ratio was 0.83. The average plastic strain ratio of the 83% hot asymmetrically rolled AA3003 sheet at $200^{\circ}C$ is 1.2 times higher than that of the initial AA3003 sheet. The ${\mid}{\Delta}R{\mid}$ of 83% hot asymmetrically rolled AA3003 sheet at $200^{\circ}C$ is 0.83 times lower than that of the initial AA3003 sheet. This result is due to the development of the intensity of ${\gamma}-fiber$ texture and reduces the intensity of {001}<110> and {001}<100> textures after hot asymmetric rolling of AA3003 sheet.
Two clad composites of five ply sheets comprising STS430/AA3003/AA3003/AA3003/STS430 and STS430/AA3003/STS430/AA3003/STS430 were produced by roll cladding at $350^{\circ}C$. In order to clarify the deformation behavior and strain states in the composites during roll cladding, the variation of individual sheet thickness and the evolution of through thickness textures and microstructures of the composites were investigated. The thickness reduction of each sheet depended on the location of the sheet and on the strength of each sheet in the composites. In order to elucidate the evolution of textures and microstructures in AA3003 sheets, the strain states in AA3003 sheets during roll cladding were calculated by FEM. The formation of shear textures and fine grains in AA3003 sheet was discussed in terms of the strain states in each sheet layer. Finally, the strain states extracted from the FEM were verified by texture simulations
The clad samples of five plies of sheets comprising ferritic stainless steel (STS) and aluminum (Al) were prepared by roll-cladding at $350^{\circ}C$. The evolution of strain states and textures during roll-cladding of STS430/AA3003/AA3003/AA3 003/STS430 and STS430/AA3003/STS430/AA3003/STS430 was investigated by measurements of crystallographic textures and by simulations with the finite element method (FEM). Because the deformation mainly occurs in the Al layer during roll-cladding, the present investigation was focused on the Al layers located. The stacking sequence of sheet materials in the clad samples played an important role in the evolution of strain states during roll-cladding.
The effect of frictional rolling and subsequent heat treatment was studied on the evolution of texture of AA 3003 Aluminum alloy. With frictional rolling without lubrication it is possible to obtain a larger friction between roll and sample which lead to the formation of uniform rolling texture in the whole thickness layers.
The effect of asymmetric rolling on the recrystallization texture of an AA 3003 Aluminum alloy was investigated by X-ray diffraction. It was found that the texture of asymmetrically rolled sheets prior to subsequent heat treatment promoted the formation of the <111>//ND textures, and remained after heat treatment at $275^{\circ}C$ during 20 min in salt bath condition.

A heat exchanger is a device designed to transfer heat between two or more fluids. In a vehicle's thermal management system, Al heat exchangers play a critical role in controlling and managing heat for efficient and safe operation of the engine and other components. The fluid used to prevent heat exchangers from overheating the engine is mostly tap water. Heat exchange performance can be maintained at sub-zero temperatures using a solution mixed with antifreeze. Although the fluid flowing through the heat exchanger can reduce the temperature inside the engine, it also has various problems such as cavitation corrosion. Cavitation corrosion characteristics in tap water and corrosion characteristics were evaluated in this study when antifreeze was added for test specimens where AA4045 was cladded on the inner surface of AA3003 tubes of a fin-type heat exchanger. The cavitation corrosion resistance of AA3003 was found to be superior to that of AA4045 regardless of the test solution due to higher corrosion resistance and hardness of AA3003 than those of AA4045. The cavitation corrosion rate of Al alloys increased with the addition of antifreeze.

There are a variety of heat exchangers used in automobiles, such as shell and tube heat exchangers, double tube heat exchangers, and plate heat exchangers. Most of them are water-cooled to prevent engine overheating. There have been reports of corrosion damage to these heat exchangers due to continuous wetting caused by external temperature differences, road pollutants, and snow removal. In addition, galvanic corrosion, which occurs when two dissimilar materials come into contact, has been identified as a major cause. In this study, corrosion characteristics and galvanic corrosion behavior of Al alloy (AA3003, AA4045 and AA7072) used in automobile heat exchangers were analyzed. Effective clad materials for heat exchanger tubes and fins were also evaluated. It was found that AA7072 should be applied as the cladding material for fin AA3003 and that AA4045 was suitable as a cladding material for tube AA3003 because this clad materials application was the most effective clad design to delay the occurrence of pinhole in the tube. Main factors influencing galvanic corrosion dissolution were found to be galvanic corrosion potential difference and galvanic corrosion current density.
The evolution of texture and microstructure during continuous confined strip shearing (CCSS) in aluminum 3003 alloy sheets was investigated. The tools of CCSS based on the equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) were designed to provide a constant shear deformation of the order of 0.5 per pass while preserving the original sheet shape. FEM results indicated that the shear formation is not homogeneous throughout the sample thickness, in particular at the surface layers. A randomization of textures took place during the CCSS deformation. Observations by TEM and EBSD revealed the formation of sub-micrometer sized grains after CCSS.
The corrosion damage of materials in marine environment mainly occurs by Cl- ions due to the breakdown of passive films. Additionally, various characteristics in seawater such as salinity, temperature, immersion time, flow rate, and biological activity also affect corrosion characteristics. In this study, the corrosion characteristics of stainless steels (STS 304 and STS 316L) and anodized aluminum alloys (AA 3003 and AA 6063) were evaluated with seawater temperature parameters. A potentiodynamic polarization experiment was conducted in a potential range of -0.25 V to 2.0 V at open circuit potential (OCP). Corrosion current density and corrosion potential were obtained through the Tafel extrapolation method to analyze changes in corrosion rate due to temperature. Corrosion behavior was evaluated by measuring weight loss before/after the experiment and also observing surface morphology through a scanning electronic microscope (SEM) and 3D microscopy. Weight loss, maximum damage depth and pitting damage increased as seawater temperature increased, and furthermore, the tendency of higher corrosion current density with an increase of temperature attributed to an increase in corrosion rate. There was lower pitting damage and lower corrosion current density for anodized aluminum alloys than for stainless steels as the temperature increased.
