Recently survival analysis becomes popular in a variety of fields so that a number of statistical packages are developed for analyzing the survival model. In this paper, several types of survival models are introduced and considered briefly. In addition, widely used three packages(SAS, SPSS, and STATA) for survival data are reviewed and their characteristics are investigated.

A new domain PCA-based approach to watermarking is presented. This method is applied to digital images to embed and detect a watermark. The performance of PCA approach is compared to traditional frequency domain watermark models. Simulation shows the performance of the proposed method with excellent result against image cropping and robustness against some attacks such as additive noise, filtering and jpeg compression.

In this paper we introduce a multigrid method for solving the nonliear Urysohn integral equation. The algorithm is derived from a discrete resolvent equation which approximates the continuous resolvent equation of the nonlinear Urysohn integral equa-tion. The algorithm is mathematically equivalent to Atkinson's adap-tive twogrid iteration. But the two are different computationally. We show the convergence of the algorithm and its equivalence to Atkinson's adaptive twogrid iteration. in our numerical example we compare our algorithm to other multigrid methods for solving the nonliear Urysohn integral equation including the nonlinear multigrid nethod introduced by hackbush.

우리는 그래프 그리기를 위한 셀룰러 오토마타 모델을 제안한다. 셀룰러 오토마타는 간단한 전이 규칙들의 집합을 정의함으로써 비교적 복잡한 자연현상이나 사회현상을 재현해낼 수 있는 특징을 갖고 있다. 우리는 기존에 Eades가 제안했던 하중-기초 그래프 그리기 알고리즘을 기반으로 하여 육각형 격자상에서의 그래프 그리기를 위한 셀룰러 오토마타 모델을 제안한다. 제안된 모델은 기존의 알고리즘에 비해 더 효율적인 연산과정을 거치게 되며 보다 대칭적인 그래프를 그려준다.

We propose a class of hierarchical Bayes estimators of the error variance under the relative squared error loss in balanced fixed-effects two-way analysis of variance models. Also we provide analytic expressions for the risk improvement of the hierarchical Bayes estimators over multiples of the error sum of squares. Using these expressions we identify a subclass of the hierarchical Bayes estimators each member of which dominates the best multiple of the error sum of squares which is known to be minimax. Numerical values of the percentage risk improvement are given in some special cases.

This study was investigated the actual usefulness of bathrooms in individuals living in apartment. We performed a randomized questionaire study involving 487 individuals who use a unit-bathroom and live in apartment in Taegu and its rural cities for the period from May to June, 2000. Most of the individuals used bathroom for washing behavior of daily living, such as, washing hands, feet, face, and hair, except bathing. Almost all the individuals reported some complaints about the height and size of wash-stand when they wash face or hair. And most of the individuals does not use the bath-tube when they shower or bathe.

A fast stereo algorithm for 3D depth estimation is presented. We propose an on-line stereo matching technique, by which the flows of stereo image signals are dynamically controlled to satisfy the matching condition of intensity functionals. The disparity is rapidly estimated from the control of. the signal flows and 3D depth is determined from the disparity.

Nitrogen이 도핑된 graphene에서의 hydrogen evolution에 대한 촉매효과에 대해서 연구를 진행하였다. Reaction free energy를 계산하기 위해서 많은 N-doped graphene 모델을 계산하였으며 pH 조건, silicon cathode의 영향 그리고 zero point energy의 효과를 고려하였다. Volcano plot에 의하면 "pyrol" like model과 N-doped armchair graphene model (aGNR-N1)이 좋은 촉매효과를 가짐을 밝혔다. 또한 free energy diagram을 통하여 "pyrol"과 "aGNR-N1"이 좋은 active site가 될 수 있음을 확인하였고 pH가 증가함에 따라 $H^+$의 에너지가 증가함에 따라 촉매 효과가 줄어듬을 확인하였다.

Morus alba extract(MAE) was tested for its ability to inhibit alloxan induced lipidperoxidation. Lipid peroxide contents in serum, liver, kidney and heart were measured by the TBA method. ICR mice receiving alloxan at a dose of 6mg/kg intraperitoneally after a 24hrs starvation showed significantly increased lipid peroxide contents as compared to untreated control. Lipid peroxide contents in serum, liver, kidney of alloxan-diabetic mice were decreased by the treatment of MAE at the dose of 50mg/kg, 100mg/kg for 7 days.

편광유지 광섬유를 이용하여 자이로스코프를 구성하였다. 전체 시스템의 총 광 손실은 약 25dB였으며, 지구자전속도를 기준으로 하여 장기 drift와 단기 잡음을 측정하였다. 장기 drift는 온도변화와 밀접한 관계가 있었으며 약 $3^{\circ}/hr$ 정도의 값을 얻었고, 단기 근 잡음은 약 $0.6^{\circ}/hr/{\sqrt{Hz}}$의 값을 나타내었다.
