2D genus topology of 21-cm differential brightness temperature during cosmic reionization

  • A novel method to characterize the topology of the early-universe intergalactic medium during the epoch of cosmic reionization is presented. The 21-cm radiation background from high redshift is analyzed through calculation of the 2-dimensional (2D) genus. The radiative transfer of hydrogen-ionizing photons and ionization-rate equations are calculated in a suite of numerical simulations under various input parameters. The 2D genus is calculated from the mock 21-cm images of high-redshift universe. We construct the 2D genus curve by varying the threshold differential brightness temperature, and compare this to the 2D genus curve of the underlying density field. We find that (1) the 2D genus curve reflects the evolutionary track of cosmic reionization and (2) the 2D genus curve can discriminate between certain reionization scenarios and thus indirectly probe the properties of radiation-sources. Choosing the right beam shape of a radio antenna is found crucial for this analysis. Square Kilometer Array (SKA) is found to be a suitable apparatus for this analysis in terms of sensitivity, even though some deterioration of the data for this purpose is unavoidable under the planned size of the antenna core.

  • 맵시벌科 (Ichneumonidae)는 外部形態形質에 있어서 매우 유사한 점이 많아서 種을 同定하거나 硏究하는데 어려움이 많다. 著者들은 走査電子顯微鏡을 利用하여 지금까지 기재되어 있지 않거나 기재가 불충분한 形質들을 찾아서 재기재하였으며, 韓國産 맵시벌科中 Gnues Habronyx (장수자루맵시벌속), Genus Therion (가락지자루맵시벌속)과 Genus Heteropelma (긴가락지자루맵시벌속)을 정리한 결과 未記錄 1종 (Habronyx (Camposcopus) Sonani (Uchida), 1958)을 추가하게 되었다.

돼지 액상정액 내 세균오염과 항생제 감수성에 관한 연구 (Characterization of Bacteria and Their Antibiotic Sensitivities in Porcine Liquid Semen)

  • 정액 내 세균오염 종류와 검출 빈도를 조사한 결과는 Table 1에서 보는 바와 같다. 돼지 정액 내 오염세균 중 검출빈도는 Staphylo- coccus genus, Proteus genus, Bacillus genus, Pasteulla genus, Acinetobacte genus 및 Serratia genus 등의 순으로 나타났다. 동정된 세균 중 33종의 세균에 대하여 디스크법을 이용하여 8종의 항생제에 대한 감수성을 조사 한 결과는 Table 2와 3에서 보는 바와 같다. 검출된 세균의 항생제 감수성을 조사한 결과 항생제 감수성이 높은 항생제는 Amikacin, Polymyxin B, Neomycin, Streptomycin, Kanamycin, Tetracycline, Erythromycin 및 Penicillin순 이었다. Enterococcus faecium와 Streptococcus uberis는 Streptomycin을 제외한 모든 항생제에 대하여 저항성이 있는 것으로 조사되었다.

A Taxonomic Study on the Burrowing Cricket Genus Velarifictorus with Morphologically Resembled Genus Lepidogryllus (Orthoptera: Gryllidae: Gryllinae) in Korea

  • The burrowing-cricket genus Velarifictorus Randell, 1964 is reviewed in Korea, comparing with morphologically resembled genus Lepidogryllus Otte and Alexander, 1983 for the first time. First, Velarifictorus aspersus borealis Gorochov, 1985 is confirmed from only restricted area of southern regions in Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeollanam-do. Second, Velarifictorus micado (Saussure, 1877) is confirmed from nearly all around the Korean peninsula including North Korea. Third, the previously not recorded Velarifictorus ornatus (Shiraki, 1911) is newly recognized from South Korea. Relating to the genus Velarifictorus, the resembled genus Lepidogryllus Otte and Alexander, 1983 and its species Lepidogryllus siamensis (Chopard, 1961) com. & stat. nov. is studied and compared with Velarifictorus members. A key, descriptions, tables, photographs, figures, oscillograms and spectrograms of calling sounds are provided to aid identification between the four similar species.

한국산 꾹저구속(농어목: 망둑어과) 어류의 분류학적 재검토 (Taxonomic Review of the Genus Gymnogobius(Pisces, Gobiidae) from Korea)

  • 한국산 꾹저구속 (Genus Gymnogoius, 국명신청) 어류의 정확한 학명 사용을 위하여 우리나라의 주요 하천과 연안의 기수역에서 채집된 표본을 대상으로 이들의 외부형태 형질을 분석하여 분류학적으로 재검토하였다. 조사 결과 한국산 꾹저구속 어류는 날망둑 G. breunigii (Steindachner), 살망둑 G. heptacanthus (Hilgendorf), 왜꾹저구 G. macrognathos (Bleeker), 얼룩망둑 G. mororanus (Jordan and Snyder), 무늬꾹저구 G. opperiens Stevenson, 검정꾹저구 G. petschiliensis (Rendahl), 꾹저구 G. urotaenia (Hilgendorf)의 7종으로 분류되었다. 아울러 한국산 꾹저구속 어류 7종에 대한 분포 및 주요 계수 계측형질과 형태적 특정을 기재하고 각 종에 대한 새로운 분류 검색표을 제시하였다.

New record of genus Amphirhachis Townes(Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Banchinae) from South Korea

  • One of the small genera of the tribe Atrophini (subfamily Banchinae), the genus Amphirhachis, has been reported seven species in the world. Among them, four species (Amphirhachis fasciata, A. nigripalpis, A. rubriventris and A. tertia) from Oriental region, and four species(Amphirhachis fujiei, A. miyabi, A. nigra and A. tertia) from Eastern Palaearctic region. Unfortunately, there are no records in South Korea yet. This genus is easily distinguished from other genera of Atrophini following: clypeus strongly convex near side; posterior transverse carina of propodeum represented by a weak or faint vertical ridge at apex on each side; ovipositor sheath shorter than metasoma. In this study, the genus Amphirhachis is recorded for the first time with a newly recorded species (Amphirhachis tertia) from South Korea. New data on the taxonomy and distribution of Amphirhachis tertia are given. We also provide diagnosis and digital images of a newly recorded genus and species.

ISOMORPHISM CLASSES OF HYPERELLIPTIC CURVES OF GENUS 2 OVER $F_{2_}{N}$ FOR EVEN n

Masque in [3] proposed a classification of isomorphism classes of hyperelliptic curve of genus 2 over finite fields with characteristic different from 2 and 5. Y. Choie and D. Yun in [2] obtained the number of isomorphic classes of hyperelliptic curves of genus 2 over $F_{2-}$ using direct counting method. We have obtained isomorphism classes of hyperelliptic curves of genus 2 over $F_{2n}$ for odd n, represented by an equation of the form $y^2$ + $a_{5}$ y = $x^{5}$ + $a_{8}$ x + $a_{10}$ ( $a_{5}$ $\neq$0) [1]. In this paper we characterize hyperelliptic curves of genus 2 over $F_{2n}$ for even n, represented by an equation of the form $y^2$ + $a_{5}$ y = $x^{5}$ + $a_{5}$ x + $a_{10}$ ( $a_{5}$ $\neq$0).>0).

  • We find all distinct representatives of isomorphism classes of genus-3 pointed trigonal curves and compute the number of isomorphism classes of a special class of genus-3 pointed trigonal curves including that of Picard curves over a finite field F of characteristic 2.
