PDA를 위한 32비트 RISC 코어의 설계 (A design of 32-bit RISC core for PDA)

  • 본 논문에서는 PDA나 PCS와 같은 내장형 응용을 위한 RISC 코어를 설계하였다. 이 RISC 프로세서는 내장형 응용의 중요한 특성인 빠른 인터럽트 핸들링, 빠른 컨텍스트 스위칭과 저전력 소모를 지원한다. 또한 조건부로 수행 가능한 명령어 군과 블럭 전송 명령 그리고 곱셈 명령을 이용하여 프로세서의 성능을 향상시켰다. 3단 파이프라인을 이용하였으며 2-phase 클럭을 사용한 단일 사이클 명령어 수행이 가능하다. 이 프로세서는 $5.0{\times}5.0mm^2$의 면적에 약 88,000개의 트랜지스터가 집적되었으며 $0.6{\mu}\textrm{m}$ 삼중 금속 단일 폴리 공정을 이용하여 레이아웃 되었다. 최대 동작 주파수는 40MHz이며 예상 전력 소비는 179mW이다.

Usability Testing of a Prototype Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)-based Decision Support System for the Management of Obesity

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usability of a prototype personal digital assistant (PDA)-based decision support system for the management of obesity through usability testing with end-users (Advanced Practice Nurses [APNs]) prior to its implementation in clinical settings. Methods: This descriptive study used observational and think aloud techniques to address the research question: what usability problems are perceived by end-users? Five APNs were provided with the scenarios and the list of tasks to evaluate the application. Their verbalizations were recorded through Morae usabil ity software. Data analysis was based on the data captured through Morae, transcriptions, notes, and the end-user survey. Results: End-users completed all the required tasks without encountering a severe usability problem, and agreed that the system was easy to use. clear, concise, and useful. Usability issues that were unrecognized by the developer or usability experts were identified by APNs. The usability problems were categorized according to positive characteristics, negative characteristics, and recommendations. The usability issues were discussed with the project team members, and solutions were suggested to improve the user interface of the PDA-based decision support system before the final implementation. Conclusions: This approach had an important impact on making the system easier to use and more useful from the perspective of design and content. The results of this evaluation provided iterative feedback regarding the design and implementation of the PDA-based decision support system for the management of obesity.

  • 본 연구는 정부의 주거복지 지원계획과 관련한 공공임대주택의 양적인 공급 증가에 따라 유지관리의 필요성의 부각되고 있는 시점에서 현행 공공임대주택의 특성과 유지관리 시스템의 분석을 통해 장기적으로 유지관리방식의 문제점 개선과 효율성 향상을 위한 웹기반 유지관리 시스템으로의 발전가능성과 더불어 한계점도 파악해 보았다. 이 결과를 토대로 하여 PDA와 같은 IT를 활용한 유비쿼터스 장비의 이용가능성과 사용에 따른 기대효과를 제시함으로서 현재 연구${\cdot}$개발된 유지관리시스템의 문제점을 보완하여 사용자위주의 시스템을 제시하였다.

  • The increasing number of analytes in concern and the alarming health and environmental consequences have required effective means of monitoring for safety control. Biosensors offer advantages as alternatives to conventional analytical methods because of their inherent specificity, simplicity, and quick response. Colorimetric biosensor, one of biosensor group, is one of the easiest and the most convenient methods because detection can be done using naked eye. Recently, a novel method for rapid detection and read-out of specific immunoassays with naked eye using polydiacetylene (PDA) was developed. Polydiacetylene has recently been in the limelight as a transducing materials because of its special features that allow optical transduction of sensory signals and inherent simplicity and ease of use in supramolecular chemistry. Various forms of PDA are used as a sensor platform for detection of various biological analytes such as viruses, DNA, proteins, bacteria and hazardous molecules.

  • Intelligent Wearable Module is intelligent system that arises when a human is part of the feedback loop of a computational process like a certain control system. Applied system is mobile robot. This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by Intelligent Wearable Module. So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by Intelligent Wearable Module. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. Tlle information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

실내 환경에서의 경비로봇용 주행시스템 (A Navigation System for a Patrol Robot in Indoor Environments)

  • In this paper, we develope the navigation system for patrol robots in indoor environment. The proposed system consists of PDA map modelling, a localization algorithm based on a global position sensor and an automatic charging station. For the practical use in security system, the PDA is used to build object map on the given indoor map. And the builded map is downloaded to the mobile robot and used in path planning. The global path planning is performed with a localization sensor and the downloaded map. As a main controller, we use PXA270 based hardware platform in which embedded linux 2.6 is developed. Data handling for various sensors and the localization algorithm are performed in the linux platform. Also, we implemented a local path planning algorithm for object avoidance with ultra sonar sensors. Finally, for the automatic charging, we use an infrared ray system and develop a docking algorithm. The navigation system is experimented with the two-wheeled mobile robot using North-Star localization system.

  • In this paper, we implement a portable bioelectric signal measurement system for the safety of industrial workers. The developed system consists of two parts: the one is boielectric signal measurement unit and the other is signal analyzer system with PDA. The former includes signal processing part, A/D convertor, and 8051 based microprocessor, the latter includes software for signal analysis and display. The developed system detects industrial worker's ECG and displays and stores it to PDA. The ECG data in PDA can be transmitted to PC located in a distance, allowing a doctor to review the ECG and make a treatment decision. A doctor analyzes the ECG data and gives medical treatment to industrial worker.
