Experimental study of the sound quality performance and improvement of magnetic fluid speaker (자성유체 스피커의 음질 성능 및 향상에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The aim of this study was to experimentally investigate the sound quality characteristics, such as sound deflection, sound pressure level and frequency characteristics of a magnetic type speaker in an anechoic chamber to overcome the sound quality and voice-coil temperature problems. To accomplish this, the sound quality performance of the magnetic type speaker was tested according to the magnetic fluid amount and magnetic field intensity. The sound deflection, sound pressure level, and frequency characteristics were measured using the Smarrt program. As a result, at a magnetic fluid amount of 2.4 ml, the sound deflection and the sound pressure level of the magnetic type speaker were enhanced by comparing with those of the general type speaker. The frequency characteristics and the sound pressure level of the magnetic type speaker were enhanced greatly with increasing magnetic field intensity from 8.06 mT to 9.10 mT. In addition, the sound deflection of the magnetic type speaker was 0.01% lower than that of the general type speaker.

  • In this study, in order to investigate whether or not the emergency broadcasting sound generated from an emergency broadcasting speaker is clearly transmitted to the occupant through architectural sound simulation, when the loudspeaker for emergency broadcasting is installed at intervals of 25 m according to NFSC 202 for a rectangular hallway. The sound pressure level and speech intelligibility index were analyzed according to changes in building finishing materials. With a reflective material finishing, sound pressure level satisfied the standard while speech intelligibility index was low. As a result of applying the sound absorbing material finishing, clarity and speech transmission index was improved to a level that could be understood by the occupant, whereas the sound pressure level delivered to the occupant decreased in the same space.

Performance Analysis of the the Single Alarm Detector in the Rooms of Single Houses by Computer Simulation (시뮬레이션을 통한 주거공간 단독경보형감지기의 성능 분석)

  • This study was conducted to examine the performance in the space for a single alarm type detector installed in a single house. Three types of houses were used, including two types of one-story and two-story houses. A computer simulation program was used to predict the sound pressure level in response to the occurrence of an alarm sound in a residential space. The characteristics of the sound source applied to the simulation were directly measured and used as input data. As a result of simulation, it was found that the sound pressure level in the kitchen and living room generally met the standard when the alarm sound of the detector occurred. However, the sound pressure level in the bedroom was predicted to be at least 20 dB (A) lower than the American Fire Protection Association standard of 75 dB (A). Therefore, a plan should be prepared to maintain a sufficient sound level in the bedroom space inside the house, and efforts will be needed to ensure safe evacuation in case of fire by establishing relevant standards.

Noise Sources Localization on High-Speed Trains by using a Microphone Array (마이크로폰 어레이를 이용한 고속철도 차량의 소음원 도출 연구)

  • In this paper, noise of Korean high-speed trains (KTX) running at different speed from 150 to 300km/h was measured by a microphone array system. From the measurement, relation between maximum sound pressure levels and train moving speeds of KTX was drawn and a regression coefficient from the relation was also derived. Moreover, increases of SPL with speeds of KTX were analyzed in the frequency domain. From the analysis, sound characteristics of passing-by noise of KTX were provided. Then, dominant noise source areas were obtained from the measurements and propagation patterns of KTX in vertical direction were also investigated. Finally, noise sources of KTX were identified from inspection of noise maps.

  • 최근의 야외경기장의 설계는 운동 경기 뿐만 아니라 각종이벤트 및 대형콘서트를 수용하는 다목적경기장으로 건설되어지고 있으며 지붕의 $50\%이상이 천장으로 덮히는 야외경기장의 건설이 증가하는 추세로 변화되고 있으며 이에 대한 음향장해 현상이 심각한 실정이나 이에 대한 건축음향적인 대책은 미미한 실정이다. 본 연구는 서울월드컵경기장을 중심으로 음향특성을 분석하고 음향시뮬레이션을 통하여 중요음향인자 (음압레벨, 잔향시간, 명료도)들을 분석하고 보완방법을 연구하는데 그 목적이 있다.

  • 국악전용 공연장으로 지어진 국립국악 소극장의 음향 특성을 실내 음선도, 암소음, 잔향시간 및 음압분포에 의해 분석.평가하였다. 연구결과 무대 앞부분과 객석모서리에서 음선경로차가 17m 이상으로 나타나 회주공조현상의 발생이 예측되며 남부순환도로와 인접하여 소극장내에 높은 암소음이 측정되었다. 잔향시간의 측정결과 과다한 실내 흡음력으로 인해 공석시에 계획값 보다 0.8초 정도가 짧으며 이는 관객입장시 더욱 악화될 것이 예측되어 1석당 실용적을 증가와 실내 흡음력을 가능한 줄일 필요가 있다. 음압레벨은 음악당 전 객석에서 고른 음압분포가 보이고 있으나 무대 음원에서 객석전열 사이에 초기 음압감쇠가 크게 나타나 무대주변의 음압 보강이 요구된다.

A study of the estimation for sound property in the classroom (강의실에서의 음향특성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • In order to establish the environmental condition of sounds in the classroom, we measured the impulse response in cases of using and not-using PA(Public-Address). By calculating the physical index of acoustics, I examined the differences between the two cases. The degree of improvement in listening with the help of PA has also been studied by testing the voice articulation with the use of the measured impulse response. As a result, I found that the clearness is enhanced by increasing the sound pressure level in the case of short reverberation. However, it was not the case when the reverberation time was long.

A Study on the Propagation Characteristics of Fire Alarm Sound in Buildings (화재비상경보음의 건물 내 전달특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to review the propagation characteristics of fire alarm sound in building through computer simulation. In order to achieve this goal, the sound power level of existing three different emergency alarms were measured in an anechoic chamber. Sound power level of alarm bell was 98.6dB and electronic-siren speaker was 95.7dB, and electronic-siren phon was 101.8dB at the voltage of DC 24V in the condition of anechoic chamber. As the results of acoustic simulation, it was shown that sound levels at the corridor of the building were relatively high and even. But, there were large difference in sound level at all the frequency bands between corridor and lecture rooms. This mean that alarm sound couldn't be recognized sometimes in lecture rooms. Through the computer simulation, the propagation characteristics of fire alarm sound could be forecasted and compared due to plans of buildings.

  • As the noise of ship engine room is too loud, the engineer who works in a ship engine-room has the trouble of hearing. In this paper deals the investigation of the noise of ship engine room and cabins with the internationally allowable noise exposure level and noise exposure time. Recently, the problem of engine-room noise is more serious because of shipowner wants to make small number and larger size of cylinder. Therefore, engineers work in a ship engine-room for a long time have the trouble of hearing when they are exposed the high noise level. In this study, two kinds of vessels were used to investigate the noise of engine room, engine-control room, bridge, offices and cabins. As criteria of sound levels, A-weighted sound pressure level and octave band pressure level were used.

  • With rapidly industrial development, a railway has become of a main traffic means. But, the railway noise has caused much annoyance for the residents living nearby railway tracks. Therefore, in our country, for established of quite dwelling environment. execute regulation standard of railway noise from January 1. 2000. Efficiency soundproofing measures, however, are very difficult because of the lack of basic data and insufficiency of the existing research. In this point. this study attempts to survey the vertical sound pressure level of railway noise in by existence of noise harrier And this study intends to get the basic data for establishment of a efficient noise barrier about railway noise.
