Purpose :This study aimed to estimate age- and gender-specific cut points for metabolic syndrome (MS) components, including body mass index (BMI), blood pressure (BP), triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, and glucose. Methods :Data from the 1998, 2001, and 2005 Korean NHANES (National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey) were analyzed (n=4164; 2,139 boys and 2,025 girls, aged 10-19 years). Height, weight, waist circumference (WC), BP, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, and fasting glucose were measured. Results :BMI over $25kg/m^2$ represents the $85^{th}P$ (percentile) in 17-year-old boys and the $90^{th}P$ in 17-year-old girls. A level of WC higher than that of the cutoff points of Asian adults was found in the $90^{th}P$ of 17-year-old boys and girls. The $90^{th}P$ of boys aged 15 years old and the $95^{th}P$ of 13-year-old were included in the range of systolic BP over 130 mm Hg. Over the $75^{th}P$ of the group showed triglycerides greater than 110 mg/dL, (criterion of MS presented by NCEP-ATP III) and the $90^{th}P$ of the group showed triglycerides greater than 150 mg/dL by IDF. An HDL cholesterol level of 40 mg/dL represents the $25^{th}P$ in boys and the $10^{th}P$ in girls. A glucose level greater than 110 mg/dL represents the $95^{th}P$ and greater than 100 mg/dL represents the $90^{th}P$. Conclusion :Values of the $90^{th}P$ of MS components in late adolescent boys (WC, BP, and triglycerides) and girls (WC and triglycerides) were very high and in close proximity to the diagnostic criteria of adult MS.

발전소주변지역 지원사업은 발전소주변지역의 개발을 지원하여 지역사회와의 유대를 강화함으로써, 지역이기주의의 심화 등으로 날로 어려워지고 있는 신규발전소 건설입지를 적기에 확보하고 원전 등 기존 발전소의 원활한 운영을 도모하기 위하여 한국전력공사에서 90년부터 시행하여 왔다. 특히 95년에는 지원법을 획기적으로 개정하여 지원금 규모를 전기판매 수입금의 0.5$\%$ 이내에서 0.8$\%$ 이내로 대폭 증액시켰다. 또 사업내용도 다양화하여 종전에 시행해 오던 소득증대사업$\cdot$공공시설사업 및 육성사업 외에 원자력발전소주변지역에 대한 전기요금 보조, 주민복지지원 융자, 기업유치 융자 및 발전소 건설지역에 대한 특별지원사업 등을 추가로 시행하게 되었다. 본고에서는 90년부터 시행한 지원사업실적과 96년도 지원사업계획을 중심으로 발전소주변지역 지원사업의 내용을 살펴본다.

본 연구는 1980년대 우리나라 출산력의 급격한 변동을 설명하기 위하여 1988년 한국보건사회 연구원에서 실시한 전국규모의 출산력 및 가족보건조사자료를 기초로 출산순위진도 측정방법에 의하여 출산력을 분석한 것이다. 본 연구 결과에서는 년도별 출산력과 출산순위분포, 출산순위별 진도율 등을 측정하였고, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1980년 초에는 출산력이 2.8에서 1986년 이후에 대체수준이하인 1.8로 계속적인 하향추세를 보였다. 출산순위별 진도율에서는 둘째에서 세째아이로 진도한 비율이 1980년초에서 1986년사이에 약 71%가 감소하였고, 세째순위에서 네째순위로 33%가 감소하였다. 세째이상으로 진도한 비율의 감소율이 90%를 상회하고 이중 둘째에서 세째사이의 변동율이 50%를 나타내었다. 출산순위분포에서는 둘째아이에 64%가 집중되어 있으며 출산진도율은 결혼에서 첫째아이로 진도되는 확률이 90%, 첫째에서 둘째로 85%, 둘째에서 세째로는 18%가 나타냈다. 이러한 현상은 최근 한국부인의 82%가 둘째아이에서 단산하는 경향을 보이고 한자녀만 갖는 확률은 15%로 풀이되고 있다.

The present paper deals with the measurement of the environmental radioactivity at the Kori nuclear Power Plant site area for the Period of six years from December 1970 to December 1976. Gross alpha activity was measured in samples of airborne particulate. Gross beta measurement was performed on soil, water, airborne perticulate, pine needle, precipitation, fallout (gummed acetate paper) and various foodstuffs. Radioactivities of strontium-90 and cesium-l37 were determined by means of radiochemical analyses in samples of spinach, cabbage, barley, rice in terrestrial food, sea eel, shell fish, dulse, green laver in marine product and milk, and of fallout (cloumn), Furthermore, tritum was also analyzed in water sample of well, stream and sea by electrical enrichment.
