서브디비전의 다중해상도 기능을 이용한 곡면의 모델링과 유한요소 해석 (Generation of Subdivision Surface and First-order Shear Deformable Shell Element Based on Loop Subdivision Surface)

  • 본 연구에서는 서브디비전 방법 중 루프 서브디비전 방법을 이용하여 초기의 데이터 값으로부터 몇 번의 서브디비전 과정을 거쳤을 때, 초기 데이터 점이 극한곡면 위에 있도록 곡면 재생성 방법을 구현하였으며, n번 서브디비전을 수행한 곡면의 정확도를 곡률과 좌표값의 상대오차로 평가하였다. 또한 절의 전반변형을 표현할 수 있는 일차 전단변형 루프 서브디비전 유한요소를 개발하였다. 새롭게 개발된 요소는 한 개의 절점에서 6개의 자유도를 가지고 전반 변형효과를 포함하는 일반화된 요소인데, 기저함수로 4차 박스-스플라인함수가 사용되었다. 평가 수치예제를 통해 서브디비전 꿸 요소의 성능을 평가/검증하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 서브디비전 요소는 다중해상도 해석과 기하학적 모델링에 널리 사용될 수 있다.

Dynamic response of a lined tunnel with transmitting boundaries

  • The objective of this paper is to investigate the validity of transmitting boundaries in dynamic analysis of soil-structure interaction problems. As a case study, the proposed Baghdad metro line is considered. The information about the dimensions and the material properties of the concrete tunnel and surrounding soil were obtained from a previous study. A parametric study is carried out to investigate the effect of several parameters including the peak value of the horizontal component of earthquake displacement records and the frequency of the dynamic load. The computer program (Mod-MIXDYN) is used for the analysis. The numerical results are analyzed for three conditions; finite boundaries (traditional boundaries), infinite boundaries modelled by infinite elements (5-node mapped infinite element) presented by Selvadurai and Karpurapu, 1988), and infinite boundaries modelled by dashpot elements (viscous boundaries). It was found that the transmitting boundary absorbs most of the incident energy. The distinct reflections observed for the "fixed boundaries" disappear by using "transmitted boundaries". This is true for both cases of using viscous boundaries or mapped infinite elements. The type and location of the dynamic load represent two controlling factors in deciding the importance of using infinite boundaries. It was found that the results present significant differences when earthquake is applied as a base motion or a pressure load is applied at the surface ground. The peak value of the vertical displacement at nodes A, B, E and F (located at the tunnel's crown and side walls, and at the surface above the tunnel and at the surface 6.5 m away from tunnel's centre respectively) increases with the frequency of the surface pressure load for both cases 1 and 2 (traditional boundaries and mapped infinite elements respectively) while it decreases for case 3 (viscous boundaries). The modular ratio Ec/Es (modulus of elasticity of the concrete lining to that of the surrounding soil) has a considerable effect on the peak value of the horizontal displacement at node B (on the side wall of the tunnel lining) increase about (17.5) times, for the three cases (1, 2, and 3).

  • In this paper, a real-time monitoring system based on WSN is designed and implemented to monitor livestock growth environment information which includes the temperature, humidity and harmful gases such as $CO_{2},\;CO,\;NH_{3},\;H_{2}S$ and so on. The proposed system consists of the wireless sensor nodes, the monitoring management device, the management server and the user interface program based on PC/Smart phone. To verify the performance of the implemented system, gas measurement experiments are performed in laboratory environment by using the designed wireless sensor nodes. And it is able to estimate the concentration of gases. The implemented system is able to monitor the proposed environmental element information through the developed GUI.

자오 변형률에 근거한 2절검 축대칭 셸요소 (Two Node Meridional Strain-based Axisymmetric Shell Elements)

  • Two shear-flexible curved axisymmetric shell elements with two nodes, LCCS(linear curvature and constant strain) and CCCS(constant curvature and constant strain) are designed based on the assumed meridional strain fields and shallow shell geometry. At the element level, meridional curvature, membrane strain and shear strain fields are assumed by using polynomials and the displacement fields are obtained by integrating the assumed strain fields along the shallowly curved meridian. The formulated elements have high order displacement fields consistent with the strain field. Several test problems are given to demonstrate the performance of the two elements. Analysis results obtained reveal that the elements are very accurate in the displacement and the stress predictions.

Vibration behaviour of axially compressed cold-formed steel members

  • The objective of this work is to describe the main steps involved in the derivation of a GBT (Generalised Beam Theory) formulation to analyse the vibration behaviour of loaded cold-formed steel members and also to illustrate the application and capabilities of this formulation. In particular, the paper presents and discusses the results of a detailed investigation about the local and global free vibration behaviour of lipped channel simply supported columns. After reporting some relevant earlier GBT-based results dealing with the buckling and vibration behaviours of columns and load-free members, the paper addresses mostly issues concerning the variation of the column fundamental frequency and vibration mode nature/shape with its length and axial compression level. For validation purposes, some GBT-based results are also compared with values obtained by means of 4-node shell finite element analyses performed in the code ABAQUS.

Prediction of vibration response of functionally graded sandwich plates by zig-zag theory

  • This study is aimed to accurately predict the vibration response of two types of functionally graded sandwich plates, one with FGM core and another with FGM face sheets. The gradation in FGM layer is quantified by exponential method. An efficient zig-zag theory is used and the zigzag impacts are established via a linear unit Heaviside step function. The present theory fulfills interlaminar transverse stress continuity at the interface and zero condition at the top and bottom surfaces of the plate for transverse shear stresses. Nine-noded C-0 FE having 8DOF/node is utilized throughout analysis. The present model is free from the obligation of any penalty function or post-processing technique and hence is computationally efficient. Numerical results have been presented on the free vibration behavior of sandwich FGM for different end conditions, lamination schemes and layer orientations. The applicability of present model is confirmed by comparing with published results. Several new results are also specified, which will serve as the benchmark for future studies.

말뚝지지 전면기초의 3차원 근사해석기법 개발 (Development of Three-dimensional Approximate Analysis Method for Piled Raft Foundations)

  • 철지반의 비선형성을 고려한 말뚝지지 전면기초의 3차원 해석기법(YSPR)을 개발하였다. 전면기초는 6개의 자유도를 가진 평면쉘 요소로, 말뚝은 보-기둥 요소로 모델링하여 전면기초와 결합하였다. 또한 말뚝두부 및 지반의 강성은 $6{\times}6$ 강성행렬로 모델링 하였으며, 전면기초-말뚝-지반의 상호작용은 비선형 하중전이함수를 이용하여 선형/비선형거동의 모사가 가능하도록 하였다. 기존의 단순해석기법, 유한요소해석 및 현장계측값과의 비교 분석 결과, 본 해석기법이 대단면 말뚝지지전면기초에서 말뚝의 축하중 분포와 침하량을 비교적 정확히 산정하는 것으로 판단되며, 이러한 검증을 토대로 실제 대단면 기초설계에 대한 적용 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

2D 유한요소 해석을 통한 물 분사 펌프의 동특성 분석 (Analysis of Dynamics Characteristics of Water Injection Pump through the 2D Finite Element)

  • After drilling operations at the offshore plant, crude oil is producted under high pressure. After that time, oil recovery is reduced, because the pressure of the pipe inside is low during the secondary produce. At that time injection sea water at the pipe inside through water injection pump that the device increase to recovery. A variety of mathematical analysis during the detailed design analysis was not made through the dynamics characteristic at the domestic company. 2D model has reliability of analysis results for the uncomplicated model. Also element and the node the number of significantly less than in the 3D model. So, the temporal part is very effective. In addition, depending on the quality of mesh 3D is a real model and FEM model occurs error. So, user needs a lot of skill. In this paper, a 2D finite element analysis was performed through the dynamics analysis and the study model was validated.

Vision-based dense displacement and strain estimation of miter gates with the performance evaluation using physics-based graphics models

  • This paper investigates the framework of vision-based dense displacement and strain measurement of miter gates with the approach for the quantitative evaluation of the expected performance. The proposed framework consists of the following steps: (i) Estimation of 3D displacement and strain from images before and after deformation (water-fill event), (ii) evaluation of the expected performance of the measurement, and (iii) selection of measurement setting with the highest expected accuracy. The framework first estimates the full-field optical flow between the images before and after water-fill event, and project the flow to the finite element (FE) model to estimate the 3D displacement and strain. Then, the expected displacement/strain estimation accuracy is evaluated at each node/element of the FE model. Finally, methods and measurement settings with the highest expected accuracy are selected to achieve the best results from the field measurement. A physics-based graphics model (PBGM) of miter gates of the Greenup Lock and Dam with the updated texturing step is used to simulate the vision-based measurements in a photo-realistic environment and evaluate the expected performance of different measurement plans (camera properties, camera placement, post-processing algorithms). The framework investigated in this paper can be used to analyze and optimize the performance of the measurement with different camera placement and post-processing steps prior to the field test.

격납건물 내압해석을 위한 철근콘크리트 쉘 유한요소 (Shell Finite Element of Reinforced Concrete for Internal Pressure Analysis of Nuclear Containment Building)

  • 이 논문은 원전 격납건물의 극한내압능력 평가와 비선형해석을 수행하기 위하여 개발된 해석프로그램인 9절점 퇴화 쉘 유한요소에 대하여 기술하였다. 개발된 쉘 유한요소는 퇴화 고체기법과 구조물에서 발생하는 횡전단변형도를 고려하기 위하여 Reissner-Mindlin(RM)가정을 도입하였다. 콘크리트의 재료모델은 등가응력-등가변형률의 관계를 이용하여 콘크리트의 응력과 변형률의 수준을 결정하고, 콘크리트에 균열이 발생하면 부착응력을 고려하는 인장강성모델과 균열면에서의 전단전달 메카니즘 그리고 균열면에서 압축강도 감소모델 등으로 재료적 거동을 나타내었다. 또한 균열발생기준으로 압축-인장영역에는 Niwa가 제안한 응력포락선을 도입하였고, 인장-인장영역에는 Aoyagi-Yamada가 제안한 응력포락선을 사용하였다. 개발된 프로그램의 성능은 다양한 수치예제를 통하여 검증하였다. 검증예제 결과로부터 개발된 쉘 유한요소를 이용한 해석결과는 실험결과 또는 다른 해석결과와 유사한 결과를 도출하였다.
