  • Electrical machineries have been developed as following with various and high technical application in these days. Especially the robot is integrated system including mechanical structure, electronic control, and electrical technology. The robot system is not compact and has not natural motion like human, although the technology of robot has been developing continuously. The spherical wheel motor is useful electric machine for using robot joint as operation of 3-degrees of freedom. In this paper, a permanent magnet spherical wheel motor is introduced and performance characteristics are analyzed for improving of operation stability.

Strain based finite element for the analysis of heterogeneous hollow cylinders subjected to thermo-mechanical loading

  • The effectiveness and accuracy of the strain-based approach applied for analysis of two kinds of heterogeneous hollow cylinders subjected to thermal and mechanical loads are examined in this study. One is a multilayer cylinder in which the material in each layer is assumed to be linearly elastic, homogeneous and isotropic. Another is a hollow cylinder made of functionally graded materials with arbitrary gradient. The steady state condition without heat generation is considered. A sector in-plane finite element in the polar coordinate system based on strain approach is used. This element has only three degrees of freedom at each corner node. Analytical solutions available in the literature are presented to illustrate the accuracy of the sector element used. The obtained results for displacements and stresses are shown to be in good agreement with the analytical solutions.

집기-놓기 작업을 위한 이동 머니퓰레이터의 자세 선정 (Pose Selection of a Mobile Manipulator for a Pick and Place Task)

  • A mobile manipulator is a system with a robotic manipulator mounted on top of a mobile base. It has both indoor and outdoor applications for transporting or transferring materials. When a user gives commands, they are usually at high levels such as "move the object to the table," or "tidy the room." By intelligently decomposing these complex commands into several subtasks, the mobile manipulator can perform the tasks with a greater efficiency. One of the crucial subtasks for these commands is the pick-and-place task. For the mobile manipulator, selection of a good base position and orientation is essential to accomplishing this task. This paper presents an algorithm that determines one of the position and orientation of a mobile manipulator in order to complete the pick-and-place task without human intervention. Its effectiveness are shown for a mobile manipulator with 9 degrees-of-freedom in simulation.

Serial pendulum DVA design using Genetic Algorithm (GA) by considering the pendulum nonlinearity

  • A serial pendulum dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) was designed to suppress the vibration of two degrees of freedom (Two-DOF) structure model. The optimal DVA parameters are selected using a genetic algorithm (GA) by minimizing the fitness function formulated from the system's frequency response function (FRF). Two fitness function criteria, using one and two target frequency ranges, were utilized to calculate the optimal DVA parameters. The optimized serial pendulum DVA parameters were used to reduce structural vibration under free and forced excitation conditions. The simulation study found that the serial pendulum DVA can effectively reduce the vibration response for a small excitation amplitude. However, the DVA performance decreases for a large excitation amplitude due to the nonlinearity of pendulum motion, and the percentage of vibration response attenuation is smaller than that obtained using a small excitation amplitude.

6자유도 호버링 AUV의 설계 및 제어 (Design and Control of 6 D.O.F(Degrees of Freedom) Hovering AUV)

  • In this paper, a study of a new hovering six dof underwater robot with redundant horizontal thrusters, titled HAUV (hovering AUV), is presented. The results of study on the structure design, deployment of thrusters, and development of the developed control system of the AUV was presented. For the HAUV structure, a structure design and an analysis of the thrusting system was performed. For navigation, a sensor fusion board which can proceed various sensor signals to identify correct positions and speeds was developed and a total control system including EKF (Extended Kalman Filter) was designed. Rolling, pitching and depth control tests of the HAUV have been performed, and relatively small angle error and depth tracking error results were shown.

  • The 6DOF (degrees of freedom) Parallel Manipulators have some advantages that are high power, high rigidity, high precision for positioning and compact mechanism compared with conventional serial link manipulators. For these Parallel Manipulators, it can be expected to work in the new fields such that the medical operation, high-precision processing technology and so on. For this expectation, it is necessary to control the action reaction pair of forces which act between the Parallel Manipulator and the operated object. In this paper, we analyze the dynamics of the 6DOF Parallel Manipulator and present numerical simulation results.

해상 태양광 부유체의 거동측정을 위한 MEMS 연구 (Research on MEMS for Motion Measurement of Solar Energy Platform at Sea)

  • 태양 에너지를 전기 에너지로 변환시키는 장치가 설치된 해상 부유체는 파도에 의해서 운동한다. 해상 부유체의 안전성을 평가하기 위해서는 부유체 운동의 측정과 해석이 필요한데, 일반적으로 6자유도 운동을 이용한다. 6자유도 운동은 저전력, 소형, 저가의 특징을 갖고 있는 MEMS(Micro-Electro Mechanical System)를 이용하여 측정할 수 있다. 문제는 MEMS의 낮은 정밀도이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 MEMS를 이용한 해상 태양광 부유체의 거동을 측정하고, 측정한 거동을 이용한 안전성 평가 기법에 관하여 검토하였다. 연구결과 3축의 가속도계와 3축의 자이로스코프를 이용한 관성 측정 플랫폼을 통해서 해상 부유체의 모델링과 안전성 평가가 가능함을 알았다.

  • 본 연구에서는 실제 산업현장에서 이용되고 있는 5자유도의 수직 다관절형 로 봇과 2자유도의 포지셔너를 하나의 기구학적 모델로 모델링하여 기구학적 해석을 하고 이때 발생하는 여유자유도제어 및 그 타당성을 검토하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 먼저 역기구학적 해를 여유자유도인 포지셔너의 틸팅(tilting) 관절각을 고정한 후 6자유도 의 로봇으로 모델링하여 해석적으로 구하는 방법을 제시하고, Jacobian행렬을 통해 특 이상태를 분석하고자 한다. 또한 여유자유도가 특이성회피를 목적으로 하는 R-P 시 스템의 작업성능에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 알기 위해 역기구학적 해로부터 구한 각 관절각을 Jacobian 행렬을 이용하는 조작성지수식에 대입하여 조작성지수를 얻고, 이 조작성지수의 등고선그래프로부터 높은 작업성능을 갖는 여유자유도 각을 구하고자 한 다. 아울러, 주작업 및 특이성회피를 목적으로 하는 부작업을 만족시키는 여유자유 도 제어방법의 경우에 높은 작업성능을 갖는 방향으로 관절각이 변화하는지를 역기구 학적 해만을 이용한 경우와 비교 검토하고자 한다.

MR 유체와 압전스택을 특징으로 하는 새로운 형태의 능동 엔진마운트 시스템 (A New Type of Active Engine Mount System Featuring MR Fluid and Piezostack)

  • An engine is one of the most dominant noise and vibration sources in vehicle systems. Therefore, in order to resolve noise and vibration problems due to engine, various types of engine mounts have been proposed. This work presents a new type of active engine mount system featuring a magneto-rheological (MR) fluid and a piezostack actuator. As a first step, six degrees-of freedom dynamic model of an in-line four-cylinder engine which has three points mounting system is derived by considering the dynamic behaviors of MR mount and piezostack mount. In the configuration of engine mount system, two MR mounts are installed for vibration control of roll mode motion whose energy is very high in low frequency range, while one piezostack mount is installed for vibration control of bounce and pitch mode motion whose energy is relatively high in high frequency range. As a second step, linear quadratic regulator (LQR) controller is synthesized to actively control the imposed vibration. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed active engine mount, vibration control performances are evaluated under various engine operating speeds(wide frequency range) and presented in time domain.

Dynamic behaviors of the bridge considering pounding and friction effects under seismic excitations

  • Dynamic responses of a bridge system with several simple spans under longitudinal seismic excitations are examined. The bridge system is modeled as the multiple oscillators and each oscillator consists of four degrees-of-freedom system to implement the poundings between the adjacent oscillators and the friction at movable supports. Pounding effects are considered by introducing the impact elements and a bi-linear model is adopted for the friction force. From the parametric studies, the pounding is found to induce complicated seismic responses and to restrain significantly the relative displacements between the adjacent units. The smaller gap size also restricts more strictly the relative displacement. It is found that the relative displacements between the abutment and adjacent pier unit became much larger than the responses between the inner pier units. Consequently, the unseating failure could take a place between the abutment and nearby pier units. It is also found that the relative displacements of an abutment unit to the adjacent pier unit are governed by the pounding at the opposite side abutment.
