H.264/SVC 기반의 다채널 하이브리드 HDTV 방송 (H.264/SVC based Multi-Channel Hybrid HDTV Broadcasting)

  • Korea View 는 지상파 디지털 TV 의 새로운 서비스 프레임워크로 6MHz 의 지상파 방송 대역폭 내에서 하나의 HD 채널만 서비스되던 것을 향상된 비디오 압축 기술을 이용하여 1 개의 HD 채널과 3 개의 SD 채널, 총 4 개의 채널을 서비스하는 지상파 다채널 디지털 TV 서비스를 의미한다. 본 논문에서는 Korea View 서비스 프레임워크에 H.264/SVC 를 이용하여 SD 급으로 전송되던 3 개의 채널에 대해 SVC 의 공간 계위를 갖도록 부호화 한 HD 급 향상계층 비디오 부호화 스트림을 광대역 망을 통해 전송하는 다채널 하이브리드 HDTV 방송서비스 프레임워크를 제안하고 이를 위해 H.264/SVC 의 부호화 성능을 평가하고 분석한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 H.264/SVC 기본계층에 해당하는 3 개의 SD 채널에 대해 1.5Mbps 목표 비트율로 부호화 하는 동시에 H.264/SVC 의 향상계층에 해당하는 HD 비디오의 부호화를 수행하여 SD 급 기본계층과 HD 급 향상계층의 부호화 성능을 평가 및 분석하였다. 실험을 통해 SD 급 기본계층에서 34.5dB 이상의 화질로 서비스 가능한 수준의 객관적 화질임을 확인하였고, HD 급 향상계층에 대해서는 12Mbps 비트율로 부호화 된 MPEG-2 영상의 화질을 제공하기 위해 690kbps 이상의 비트율이 필요하다는 것을 제시한다.

  • Background: An ongoing environmental exposure assessment of humidifier disinfectants (HDs) has been conducted since November 2011 among individuals who experienced HD exposure-related adverse health effects. It is being performed in order to determine and quantify exposure to humidifier disinfectants in victims and their families. To date, the assessment has encompassed Cycles I-to-V. There is no report summarizing the characteristics of the subjects from the overall cycles. Objectives: We intended to examine the individual characteristics related to demographics, HD usage, and HD exposure using integrated data from Cycles I-to-V of the environmental exposure assessment of HDs and the changes with the cycles. Methods: We included 7,543 individuals who participated in Cycles I-to-V of the environmental exposure assessment of HDs. We summarized the participants' characteristics regarding their demographics (e.g., sex, education level, and age), HD usage history (e.g., product name, ingredient, and frequency of HD use), and HD exposure (e.g., daily time of HD use, cumulative time of HD use, and exposure intensity). In addition, their characteristics were compared across the cycles of the exposure assessment. Results: Among the 7,543 participants from Cycles I-to-V, there were more male participants than females (51.05% overall), except for Cycles I and III. Across all cycles, a higher proportion of survivors was observed than deceased individuals. While PHMG was the most prevalent ingredient in HDs throughout all the cycles, its proportion gradually decreased over the course of the examination cycles. Participants in Cycle I reported longer daily times of HD use compared to those in the subsequent cycles. On the other hand, cumulative time of HD use was shorter in the earlier cycles than in the later cycles. Conclusions: Using the integrated data from the full cycles of the environmental exposure assessment, this study identified changes in demographic characteristics as well as the HD exposure characteristics between the participants across different cycles.

  • Through time-series CCD photometry using a 155mm refractor, we found a new $\delta$ Scuti type variable star, HD 235428, near a known bright $\delta$ Scuti type star, DQ Cep. We performed follow-up observations using a 61cm telescope at Sobaeksan Optical Astronomy Observatory. Four frequencies have been derived by multiple-frequency analysis, which are 15.804, 5.498, 15.351 and 24.516cycle $day^{-1}$, respectively. V-amplitude of HD 235428 is ${\Delta} V$ = 0.026.

  • 0.05M TEAP를 지지전해질로 한 아세톤용액에서, 란탄늄 및 네오디늄과 몇 가지 리간드의 착물에 대한 전기화학적 거동인 환원전류의 유형, 가역성, 안정도상수, 전류함수 등을 폴라로그래피와 순환전압전류법으로 조사하였다. 환원파는 2단계로 나타났으며, 반응은 확산지배적이고 비가역적이었다. 또한 란탄족 금속이온의 착물에 대하여 안정도상수를 측정하였다.

새로운 Copper 전구체를 이용한 구리점 증착 (Deposition of copper dots with new copper precursors)

  • 새로운 1가 구리 전구체인 $[Cu^I(hfac)]_2(DVTMSO)$ and $[Cu^I(hfac)]_2(HD)$ (hfac=hexa- fluoroacetylacetonate, DVTMSO=1,2-divinyltetramethyldisiloxane, HD=1,5-hexadiene)를 합성하였으며, 또한 유기금속 화학증착법을 사용하여 증착특성을 확인하였다. 새로운 전구체는 기존 구리 1가 전구체와는 다르게 두 개의 Cu(hfac)가 하나의 중성리간드에 결합된 형태를 가지고 있다. 또한 새롭게 합성된 두 종류의 전구체는 기존에 알려진 1가 구리 고체 전구체에 비해 높은 안정성 및 높은 증기압을 가지고 있는 것이 확인하였다. 아울러 기존의 전구체와는 달리 새로운 전구체로 화학증착하면 막 (films)을 형성하지 않고 구리점 (dots)을 형성하는 것을 확인하였으며 이는 새로운 구조로부터 기인된 현상이라고 생각된다. 구리점의 모양은 증착온도에 따라 급격하게 변하는 것도 관찰되었다.

헛개나무 열매 열수추출물 투여에 의한 생쥐의 지구력 운동 수행 능력 향상 및 피로개선 효과 (Hotwater Extract of Hovenia dulcis Peduncle Improves Exercise Performance and Anti-fatigue Effect in Mice)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of hot water extract of peduncle obtained from Hovenia dulcis Thunb (HD) which is commercially developed for the protective effect on the alcoholic hepatotoxicity, on the endurance capacity for weight loaded forced swimming mice. The swimming times to exhaustion in mice fed 100 and 200 mg/kg HD for 2 weeks were prolonged 3.6 and 3.7 fold, and for 4 weeks 1.9 and 2.7 fold compared with each vehicle control ($42.8{\pm}20.5$ min and $67.7{\pm}47.8$ min, for 2 and 4 weeks), respectively. Blood biochemical parameters for ALT, AST, creatinine and BUN were not significantly different between from HD fed or control mice. Although HD fed mice swam over 2 fold longer time than vehicle control mice at 4 weeks, blood biomarkers of physical fatigue such as glucose, triglyceride and free fatty acid, lactate were not significant different and even tended to ameliorate. Hepatic lipid peroxidation and SOD activity did not significantly change in HD fed- and vehicle control exhausted swimming mice at 2 or 4 weeks. However, catalase activity in HD-fed mice was significantly increased in a dose-dependent manner compared with vehicle control mice. The present study indicates that HD improved physical fatigue and exercise performance in mice. Therefore, it has a potential for the pharmacological effect of anti-fatigue.

히르슈슈프룽병의 진단법은 얼마나 신뢰할 만한가? (How Reliable Are Diagnostic Methods of Hirschsprung Disease?)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of the non-invasive diagnostic methods and rectal suction biopsy for the detection of Hirschsprung disease (HD). Methods: We reviewed diagnostic methods and results retrospectively in patients who underwent anorectal manometry, barium enema and rectal suction biopsy for the diagnosis of HD at Asan Medical Center from January 2000 to December 2012. Results: There were 97 patients (59 neonates and 38 infants) in the study period. The overall accuracy of anorectal manometry for the diagnosis of HD was 71.1% and its sensitivity was 51.4% (48.1% in neonate and 62.5% in infant, respectively) and its overall specificity was 82.3% (81.3% in neonate and 83.3% in infant, respectively). The Overall accuracy of barium enema was 66.0% (72.8% in neonate and 55.3% in infant, respectively) and specificity of barium enema was 53.2% (56.3% in neonate and 50.0% in infant, respectively). These results were lower than those of anorectal manometry. The overall sensitivity of barium enema was 88.6% (92.6% in neonate and 75.0% in infant, respectively) and it was higher than the sensitivity of anorectal manometry. Histological studies confirmed HD in 35 patients, in one of whom the suction biopsy showed negative finding. Conclusion: Accuracy of non-invasive methods for diagnosis of HD in our study is lower than those in previous study, so we need to improve the quality of diagnostic tools in our hospital. We conclude that the rectal suction biopsy is the most accurate test for diagnosing HD, so the biopsy to confirm the diagnosis of the HD is very important.

The Barium Star HD204075: Iron Abundance and the Absence of Evidence for Accretion

  • Spectroscopic observations of barium star ${\zeta}$ Capricornus (HD204075) obtained at the 8.2 m telescope of the European Southern Observatory, with a spectral resolving power R = 80,000 and signal to noise ratio greater than 300, were used to refine the atmospheric parameters. We found new values for effective temperature ($T_{eff}=5,300{\pm}50K$), surface gravity ($log\;g=1.82{\pm}0.15$), micro-turbulent velocity ($v_{micro}=2.52{\pm}0.10km/s$), and iron abundance ($log\;N(Fe)=7.32{\pm}0.06$). Previously published abundances of chemical elements in the atmosphere of HD204075 were analyzed and no correlations of these abundances with the second ionization potentials of these elements were found. This excludes the possible influence of accretion of hydrogen and helium atoms from the interstellar or circumstellar environment to the atmosphere of this star. The accretion of nuclear processed matter from the evolved binary companion was primary cause of the abundance anomalies. The young age of HD204075 allows an estimation of the time-scale for the creation of the abundance anomalies arising from accretion of interstellar hydrogen and helium as is the case of stars with low magnetic fields; which we estimate should exceed $10^8$ years.

The Chemical Composition of HD47536: A Planetary Host Halo Giant with Possible 𝛌 Bootis Features and Signs of Interstellar Matter Accretion

  • We investigated the chemical composition of the planetary host halo star HD47536 via high-resolution spectral observations recorded using a 1.5 meter Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) telescope (Chile). Furthermore, we determined the abundances of 38 chemical elements. Both light and heavy elements were overabundant compared to the iron group elements. The abundance pattern of HD47536 was similar to that of halo-type stars, with an enrichment of heavy elements. We analyzed the relationships between the relative abundances of chemical elements and their second ionization potentials and condensation temperatures. We demonstrated that the interplay of charge-exchange reactions owing to the accretion of interstellar matter and the gas-dust separation mechanism can influence the initial abundances and can be used to qualitatively explain the abundance patterns in the atmosphere of HD47536.

A Search for Exoplanets around Northern Circumpolar Stars. VII. Detection of Planetary Companion Orbiting the Largest Host Star HD 18438

  • We have been conducting a exoplanet search survey using Bohyunsan Observatory Echelle Spectrograph (BOES) for the last 18 years. We present the detection of exoplanet candidate in orbit around HD 18438 from high-precision radial velocity (RV) mesurements. The target was already reported in 2018 (Bang et al. 2018). They conclude that the RV variations with a period of 719 days are likely to be caused by the pulsations because the Lomb-Scargle periodogram of HIPPARCOS photometric and Hα EW variations for HD 18438 show peaks with periods close to that of RV variations and there were no correlations between bisectors and RV measurements. However, the data were not sufficient to reach a firm conclusion. We obtained more RV data for four years. The longer time baseline yields a more accurate determination with a revised period of 803 ± 5 days and the planetary origin of RV variations with a minimum planetary companion mass of 21 ± 1 MJup. Our current estimate of the stellar parameters for HD 18438 makes it currently the largest star with a planetary companion.
