50세 이상 고령근로자의 근골격계질환 발생특성 및 원인에 관한 연구 (Characteristics and Causes of Musculoskeletal Disorders for Employees Aged 50 Years or Older)

  • This study concerned with the characteristics and causes of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) for employees aged 50 years or older. In order to do this, based on 8,011 accident analysis reports, we analyzed the differences of characteristics between groups under 50 years and 50 years or more in terms of gender, occupation, duration of employment, part of body, industry, size of business and work-related factors. Results show that the distributions of the injuries aged 50 years or older are statistically different from those of the injuries under 50 years. Also, older employees have high relationship between repetition, or contact stress/vibration and upper extremity MSDs. These findings can be used to develop more effective MSD prevention programs for older employees.

50세 이상의 연령에서 전방십자인대 재건술의 임상적 결과 (The Clinical Results of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction in over 50 year)

  • 목적: 50세 미만 및 50세 이상의 환자에서 전방 십자 인대 재건술 시행의 임상적 결과를 후향적으로 비교 분석하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2004년 7월부터 2008년 4월까지 전방 십자 인대 재건술을 시행 받은 환자 중 50세 이상(평균 55.1세) 18예, 50세 미만(평균 31.2세) 198예를 대상으로 하였으며, 평균 추시 기간은 50세 이상이 24개월, 50세 미만 군이 26개월 이었다. 임상적 평가는 Lysholm 점수 및 IKDC (International Knee Documentation Committee) 평가 기준을 사용하였고 전방 전위 정도는 KT-2000 관절 계측기를 이용하였으며 두 군간의 최종 추시 시의 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 결과: Lysholm 점수는 50세 이상 군에서는 69.5점에서 93.6점으로 호전되었으며, 50세 미만 군에서는 69.0점에서 92.6점으로 호전되었다(p<0.05). IKDC 평가 기준에 의한 최종 평가상 50세 이상 군의 83% (15예)에서 거의 정상(B) 이상의 결과를 보였고, 50세 미만군의 86% (170예)에서 거의 정상(B) 이상의 결과를 보였다(p<0.05). KT-2000 관절 계측기를 이용한 전방 전위 검사 상 건측과의 평균 전위차가 50세 이상 군에서는 술전 7.4 mm에서 최종 추시 시 2.2 mm로 감소하였고, 50세 미만 군에서는 술 전 7.1 mm에서 최종 추시 시 2.0 mm으로 감소하였다(p<0.05). 결론: 50세 이상 군과 50세 미만 군에서의 전방 십자 인대 재건술의 임상적 결과는 두 군 간에 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 50세 이상 환자에서도 만족할 만한 전방 십자 인대 재건술의 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

30~70대 여성의 골밀도, 생화학적 특성 및 영양소 섭취 분석 -2011년 국민건강영양조사를 중심으로- (Analysis of Bone Mineral Density, Biochemical Index and Nutrient Intakes of 30-70 Years Old Women -Based on 2011 KNHANES-)

  • Objectives: This study was carried out to investigate bone mineral density (BMD), blood pressure, age and biochemical index and nutrient intakes, and to analyze the relationship between BMD, blood pressure, biochemical index, nutrient intakes of Korean women. Methods: The study subjects were 499 women with a age range of 30-79 years living in Seoul and Kyunggi area who participated in 2011 KNHANES. The study subjects were divided into 5 age groups : 30 years (145), 40 years (110), 50 years (102), 60 years (85) and 70 years (57), and 3 BMD groups: normal 258 (50.4%), osteopenia 163 (32.9%) and osteoporosis 78 (16.7%). Results: The average waist circumference, BMI and body fat increased with age, but fat free mass decreased with age. Average BMD and T-score was decreased from 0.84, $0.74g/cm^2$ in 30 years to 0.05, $-1.05g/cm^2$ in 70 years. The rates of osteopenia and osteoporosis increased significantly 22% in 30~40 years, 47% in 50 years and 56% in 60~70 years. Systolic blood pressure and cholesterol were significantly increased with age. The rates of hypertension was significantly increased 2.1% in 30 years, 30.4% in 50 years 89.5% in 70 years. Average nutrient intakes such as protein, calcium, iron, vitamin A and C were significantly decreased with age. There were significant negative correlations between age and calcium, systolic blood pressure, triglyceride. Conclusions: In this study, we found the risk of osteoporosis and hypertension were significantly increase with over 50 years age. Calcium and protein intake decreased with age. Therefore, in order to prevent osteoporosis and hypertension, adult women need to be educated regarding the importance of protein, calcium and other nutrients in their diet.

50세 이상 천식 환자의 인플루엔자 백신 접종률 및 관련 요인 (The Estimated Proportion for Influenza Vaccination and Related Factors in Korea Adults Aged 50 and Older with Asthma)

  • Objectives: This study aims to investigate the estimated proportion for influenza vaccination and to identify factors associated with influenza vaccination in Korean adults aged 50 and older with asthma. Methods: Data from 2010-2015 Community Health Survey(n=23,662) was used. A chi-square test was performed to investigate the estimated proportion for influenza vaccination, and a multiple logistic regression analysis was used to identify the factors associated with self-reported influenza vaccination. Results: In men, 42.3-49.5% of asthma patients 50-64 years of age, and 78.5-90.2% of elderly (over 65 years of age) asthma patients received influenza vaccination. In women, 49.7-61.9% of asthma patients 50-64 years of age, and 82.7-89.7% of elderly asthma patients received influenza vaccination(p<0.0001). Low education level, non-smoking, non-drinking, hypertension, diabetes and use of public center were related to high influenza vaccination in 50-64 years old men with asthma. Low education level, non-smoking, bad health status, hypertension, diabetes and use of public center were related to high influenza vaccination in 50-64 years old women with asthma. Non-smoking and use of public center were related to high influenza vaccination in over 65 years old men with asthma. White-collar jobs, smoking, absence of hypertension and use of public center were related to low influenza vaccination in over 65 years old women with asthma. Conclusions: Influenza vaccination remains relatively low in asthma patients 50-64 years of age. It is necessary to recommend vaccination to asthma patients, provide them with information, and devise other strategies to improve vaccination.

50세 이상 한국인의 칼슘 섭취에 기여하는 주요 급원 식품군 및 급원 음식 분석: 2015-2019년 국민건강영양조사 자료를 이용하여 (Calcium Intake and Its Major Food Groups and Dish Groups in Korean Adults Aged 50 Years or Older: Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2015-2019)

  • Unhealthy dietary behavior such as insufficient calcium intake can be one of risk factors of osteoporosis and chronic diseases in older people. This study evaluated the recent trends in dietary calcium intake and the food source in Korean adults aged 50 years or older using the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES, 2015-2019) data. This study used 24-hour recall survey data to investigate the calcium intake, the major food groups and main dishes contributing to the calcium intake. The mean calcium intake was 479.55-506.81 mg/day. The major food groups that contribute to calcium intake were vegetables, milks and fishes. Dairy and frozen desserts and kimchi were the major dish groups that contributed to the calcium intake. Calcium intake from milk in dairy and frozen dessert group has been high in last 5 years (50-64 years old: 34.71-47.68 mg, 65-74 years old: 29.72-43.65 mg, over 75 years old: 22.91-42.93 mg). In addition, baechu-kimchi is the most contributed to the calcium intake in kimchi group (50-64 years old: 35.10-41.47 mg, 65-74 years old: 29.62-34.96 mg, over 75 years old: 23.79-29.13 mg). In conclusion, various source of calcium needs to be recommended to increase intake calcium in over 50 years, which may reduce chronic diseases and improve quality of life.

전주지역 30세이상 성인의 성별, 연령에 따른 식사의 길 (Diet Qualities by Sex and Age of Adults Over Thirty Years Old in Jeon-ju Area)

  • This study was performed to assess diet qualities by sexes and ages of adults over thirty years old in Jeon-ju area. Diet survey with one day 24-recall method was used done for 382 subjects(129 males & 253 females). Survey sample was divided into six groups by sex and age groups: male 30-49, male 50-64, male 50-64, male 65-79, female 30-49, female 50-64 and female 65-79 years. Diet quality was assessed by NAR(Nutrient Adequacy Ratio), MAR(Mean Adequacy Ratio), INQ(Index of nutrition quality), KDDS(Koreans Dietary Diversity Score), Meal Balance, DVS(Dietary Variety Score), DQI(Diet Quality Index). The 5-point DQI assessed the important dietary guidelines for Koreans. The averages of energy, protein, P, vitamin B$_1$, vitamin B$_2$, niacin and vitamin C intakes were higher than 70% of RDA. The averages intakes of Ca and vitamin A were very lower than RDA all groups. The averages of MAR were 0.78, 0.81, 0.83 in male 30-49, 50-64, 64-79 years, 0.73, 0.77, 0.71 and in female 30-49, 50-64, 65-79 years, respectively. The averages of MAR in female 30-49 years and female 65-79 years were significantly lower than the averages MAR of male 65-79 years. The averages of Sugars and Beverages intakes were significantly higher in male 30-49 years than others. Animal food intake ratio(% total food intake) in the male 65-79 years(16%) was significantly higher than male 30-49 years(11%). The averages of Nutrition intakes were higher in male compared to female. The subjects who consumed all of the major five food groups were 5% in male 30-49, 17.8% in male 50-64, 25.0% in male 65-79 years, 18.9% in female 30-49, 23.7% in female 50-64, 11.5% in female 65-79 years. The averages of KDDS were 3.5, 3.9, 3.9, 3.8, 3.8, 3.5, respectively. The averages of Meal Balance were 8.6, 9.1, 9.1, 8.3, 8.4, 7.8, respectively. The averages of DVS 20.1, 19.9, 19.9, 20.5, 19.0, 17.2, respectively. The averages of DQI were 1.7, 2.2, 2.1, 2.0, 2.1, 1.7, respectively. 81.8% of the subjects had KDDS scores of 2 to 4 and 87.3% of the subjects has Meal Balance scores 4 to 10. In contrast, 89.8% of the subjects had DQI scores of 0 to 3. In view of these facts there are few who observed the five dietary guidelines for Koreans. There findings suggest that dietary qualities were associated with nutrient intake the relation factors may vary by sex and age of adults over thirty years old in Jeon-ju area. Common problems were lack of Ca, vitamin A and dairy products intakes. Therefore adults over thirty years old in Jeon-ju area need the important nutrient management such as Ca, vitamin A. 1인가구 장년 성인(50~64세)의 인플루엔자 백신 접종률에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Influencing Factors on Influenza Vaccination among Korean 50~64 Age Adults Living Alone)

  • Purpose: Based on Anderson's model of health service utilization, we investigated the factors that affect the influenza vaccination status in Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone. Methods: Data of 194 Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone were obtained from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 7th Edition (2016-2018). Descriptive statistics and a multiple logistic regression model were used for statistical analysis. Results: The influenza vaccination rate in the study population was 39.3%. Educational status and health behaviors such as smoking habits and regular medical check-up were associated with the influenza vaccination rate in Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that educational level lower than middle school graduation (odds ratio [OR] 2.02), non-smoking status (OR 1.98), and lack of regular medical check-up (OR 0.62) were significantly associated with the influenza vaccination rate in Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone. Conclusion: The influenza vaccination rate in Korean adults aged 50-64 years, who live alone, is relatively low; therefore, policies should be implemented to improve the influenza vaccination rate in this population. Influenza vaccination in single households was affected by health promotion activities; therefore, interventions are warranted to encourage overall health promotion activities.

  • The purpose of this study is to know the average of pint range of motion and difference according to the aging for the elderly, This study consisted of elder male(n=75) and elder female(n=l09), The result of assessment and analysis in shoulder pint range of motion are as follows: 1) The average shoulder flexion pint range of motion in 60-69(from sixty to sixty-nine)years old are 163.04(Left-Male), 162.91(Right-Male), 158.74 (Left-Female), 158.74 (Right-Female). 70-79years old are 149.40(L-M), 152.38(R-M), 153,37(L-F), 153.37(R-F). 80-89 years old are 149.57(L-M), 147.93(R-M), 151.17(L-F), 150.33(R-F). There was no significant difference among group, 2) The average shoulder extension pint range of motion in 60-69years old are 48.15(L-M), 47.20(R-M), 45.16(L-F), 44.23(R-F), 70-79years old are 37.l1(L-M), 38.70(R-M), 35.17(L-F), 36.71(R-F), 80-89 years old are 34.46(L-M). 36.71(R-M), 33.90(L-F), 33.09(R-F). There was significant difference among group(p<.05). 3) The average shoulder abduction pint range of motion in 60-69years old are 164.22(L-M), 165.96(R-M), 159.34(L-F), 159.97(R-F), 70-79years old are 152.27(L-M), 155.05(R-M), 152.32(L-F), 53.66(R-F), 80-89 years old are 152.17(L-M), 153.76(R-M), 147.53(L-F), 147.37(R-F). There was significant difference in right shoulder abduction among group(p<05). 4) The average shoulder internal rotation pint range of motion in 60-69years old are 63.52(L-M), 65.70(R-M), 64.16(L-F), 64.61(R-F), 70-79years old are 64.50(L-M), 65.81(R-M) 61.10(L-F), 61.83(R-F). 80-89 years old are 61.60(L-M), 61.66(R-M), 57.53(L-F), 57.53(R-F). There was no significant difference among group. 5) The average shoulder external rotation pint range of motion in 60-69years old are 50.87(L-M), 50.22(R-M), 51.03(L-F), 50.42(R-F), 70-79years old are 50.91(L-M), 50.20(R-M) 48.37(L-F), 50.20(R-F). 80-89 years old are 46.83(L-M), 47.93(R-M), 43.43(L-F), 43.72(R-F).There was significant difference in left shoulder external rotation among group(p<.05).

  • This study was conducted in order to measure changes in the dining out consumption behaviors of the elderly living in Korea. Data on 2,316 and 3,170 elderly aged over 50 years were extracted from the 2001 and 2011 KNHANES(Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys), respectively. The data were analyzed by gender, age, region area, marital status, educational level, household income, economic activity and subjective health status. Frequency of dining out was higher in males between 50~64 years of age, living in metropolitan area, well-educated, high-income, engaged in economic activity and healthy. As a result, these basic data can be used for analyzing the changes in dining out consumption behaviors by sociodemographic characteristics of people aged over 50 years and the elderly in Korea. In the results on the consumption rate of food service in the two groups, 'female' and '65~74 years old' showed the largest increases from 10 years, and thus should be the group that the food service industry focuses on to develop new marketing strategies suitable for the environment.
