  • In this paper, an asymmetric topology of MMIC SPDT switch was proposed to increase the isolation in the receiving path and decrease the insertion loss with higher P1dB in the transmitting path for the ISM band. This SPDT switch was implemented with 0.5㎛ GaAs MESFETs processed by ETRI for the IDEC MPW project. For the receiving path the measured insertion losses were 1.518dB at 3GHz and 1.777dB at 5.75GHz and the isolations were 38.474dB at 3GHz and 29.125dB at 5.75GHz. For the transmitting path the insertion losses were 0.916dB at 3GHz and 1.162dB at 5.75GHz and the isolations were 23.259dB at 3GHz and 16.632dB at 5.75GHz. Compared to the symmetric topology the isolations of the receiving path for the asymmetric one were improved by 15.9dB at 3GHz and 11.9dB at 5.75GHz and its insertion loss was increased by about 0.6dB. In addition, P1dB of 21.5 dBm for the transmitting path was obtained, which is increased by 3.86dB compared to the symmetric one.

  • In this paper, Double rectangular patch with 4-bridges is investigated for solution of IEEE 802.11b/g(2.4GHz) and 802.11a(5.7GHz). Rectangular patch for 5.7GHz frequency band is printed on the PCB substrate and connected to another rectangular patch for 2.4GHz frequency band with 4-bridges to obtain dual band operation in a antenna element. The proposed antenna has a low profile and is fed by $50{\Omega}$ coaxial line. The dielectric constant of the designed antenna substrate is 3.27. Two rectangular patches have each resonance frequencies that are 2.4GHz and 5.7GHz. A dual-band characteristic is shown as connecting two rectangular patch using four bridges. Also, the proposed antenna is shown input return loss that is below -10dB at 2.4GHz and 5.7GHz of WLAN(Wireless LAN).

  • Because of an rapid increase of using a wireless Internet, the originally used communication of 2.4 GHz band was saturated and crossed and there were some problems. According to this, the development of a wireless Internet technology of 5 GHz Band proceeded. In the thesis we researched a Square Slot Microstrip Patch Antenna available in 5 GHz band of wireless communication. The research designed and analyzed the Antenna through HFSS. Ultimately, we compared and analyzed made Antenna through a Network Analyzer.

  • In this paper, the parallel coupled line(PCL) band-pass filter satisfying IEEE 802.11a (a:$5.15{\sim}5.25$, b:$5.25{\sim}5.35$, c:$5.725{\sim}5.875$ [GHz]) has been designed for 5[GHz]band W-Lan RX-System applications. The designed PCL Band-Pass filter is of advantage to make a design formula that is small, light and approximate accuracy. It choose a microstrip plane figure because it is possible that a multiplicity of resonator was designed. It was shown that bandwidth was 14% from 5.15GHz to 5.92GHz at the -3dB designed filter. As a result, it is enough to use the designed filter at W-LAN RX-system of the 5GHz band.

  • In this paper, the high Gain and the wideband microstrip patch antenna, which is applicable to 5 GHz band wireless LAN, is designed and fabricated. Firstly to widen the bandwidth of microstrip antenna, U-Slot in rectangular form patch is inserted and used the microstrip line-Coaxial probe feeding method. Secondly, the antenna gain is improved to be embodied in $2{\times}2$ array form. As a result, in this paper, is designed and fabricated 5 GHz Band wideband U-Slot $2{\times}2$ array patch antenna using microstrip line-coaxial probe feeder. The U-Slot $2{\times}2$ array patch antenna were fabricated on the PEC using press-technique that is based on the simulation results. And the Anritsu 37169A vector network analyzer has been used in measurement of a prototype antenna. As a result, it was measured that the superior characteristic of wideband showing approximately 1 GHz ($5.110 GHz{\sim} 6.142 GHz$) of input return loss (VSWR < 2) in resonant frequency of 5 GHz band. And the antenna gain is 13 dBi, in both the E-plane and H-plane measured at 5.15 GHz, 5.35 GHz, 5.50 GHz, and 5.87 GHz.

  • In this paper, we propose a dual-band multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with high isolation for WLAN applications (2.45 GHz and 5.2 GHz). The proposed antenna is composed of a mobile communication terminal board, eight radiators, a coaxial feed line, and slots for isolation. The measured -10 dB impedance bandwidths are 10.1% (2.35 GHz to 2.6 GHz) and 3.85% (5.1 GHz to 5.3 GHz) at each frequency band. The proposed four-element MIMO antenna has an isolation of better than 35 dB at 2.45 GHz and 45 dB at 5.2 GHz between each element. The antenna gain is 3.2 dBi at 2.45 GHz and 4.2 dBi at 5.2 GHz.

  • In this work, a 18 GHz divide-by-4 injection-locked frequency divider(ILFD) based on ring oscillator has been developed in $0.13-{\mu}m$ Si RFCMOS technology. The free-running oscillation frequency is from 4.98 to 5.22 GHz and output power is about -30 dBm, consuming 33.4 mW with a 1.5 V supply voltage. At 0 dBm input power, the locking range is 3.5 GHz(17.75~21.25 GHz) and with varactor tuning, the operating range is increased up to 5.25 GHz(16.0~21.25 GHz). The fabricated chip size is $0.76\;mm{\times}0.57\;mm$ including DC and RF pad.

  • A small microstrip monopole antenna for macro-micro frequency tuning over multiple bands is presented. The meander-shape antenna is fabricated on a conventional printed circuit board(FR-4, $\varepsilon_r=4.4$ and tan $\delta=0.02$). The antenna operates over WiBro(2.3~2.4 GHz) and WLAN a/b(2.4~2.5 GHz/5.15~5.35 GHz) service bands with an essentially constant antenna gain within each service band. Two diodes, a PIN diode and a varactor, are embedded into the antenna for frequency reconfiguration. The PIN diode is used for frequency switching(macro-tuning) between 2 GHz and 5 GHz bands while the varactor is used for frequency tuning(micro-tuning) within the service bands, 2.3~2.5 GHz and 5.15~5.35 GHz. Unwanted resonances between the two frequency bands(2 GHz and 5 GHz) are suppressed by filling up the gaps between the meander lines. The antenna gain is essentially constant and higher than 2 dBi within each service band. The measured performance of the proposed antenna system suggests the macro-micro frequency tuning techniques be useful in reconfigurable wireless communication systems.
