  • 본 논문에서는 4K UHD (Ultra High Definiation) 디스플레이 기기들의 품질 측정을 위해 TTA 4K 방송용 비디오 모니터 테스트 항목과 내용을 소개한다. 이를 통해서 테스트 패턴 설계에 대한 요구사항을 정리하여 4K 디스플레이에 적용 가능한 계측용 테스트 패턴과 육안확인용 테스트 패턴을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 테스트 패턴을 통해 4K UHD 디스플레이 기기들의 적절한 평가와 성능 측정이 가능해지며 아울러 관련 장비를 개발하는 입장에서 객관적 측정 평가뿐만 아니라 육안평가도 손쉽게 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • Several fused triazolo and ditriazoloquinoxaline derivatives such as 1-aryl-4-chloro-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalines (3a-d), 4-alkoxy[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalines (4a,b), 4-substituted-amino-[1,2,4] triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalines (5a-h), 1-(aryl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalin-4(5H)-thione (6), 4-(arylidenehydrazino )-1-phenyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalines (10a-e) and [1,2,4]ditriazolo[4,3-a:3',4'-c]quinoxaline derivatives (11-13) have been synthesized and some of these derivatives were evaluated for antimicrobial and antifungal activity in vitro. It was found that compounds 3a and 9b possess potent antibacterial activity compared to the standard tetracycline.

  • Exendin-4 (Ex-4), a peptide secreted from the salivary glands of the Gila monster lizard, can increase pancreatic $\beta$-cell growth and insulin secretion by activating glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor. In this study, we expressed a fusion protein consisting of exendin-4 and the human immunoglobulin heavy chain (Ex-4/IgG-Fc) in E. coli and explored its potential therapeutic use for the treatment of insulin-resistant type 2 diabetes. Here, we show that the Ex-4/IgG-Fc fusion protein induces expression of insulin receptor substrate-2 in rat insulinoma INS-1 cells. Our findings therefore suggest that Ex-4/IgG-Fc overexpressed in E. coli could be used as a potential, long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 mimetic.

  • A 27-year-old pregnant woman who had one son with mental and growh retardation and dysmorphic features, was referred for genetic counselling. Cytogenetic investigations revealed 4/22 translocation in the mother(46, XX, t(4;22)(p14;P11)), partial trisomy 4p in son(46, XY, -22, +der(22), t(4;22)(p14;p11)mat). The father had normal karyotype. Amniocentesis and chorionic villi sampling were performed in 3 successive pregnancies. The karyotypes of fetus in 3rd, 4th pregnancies by amniocentesis were 46, XX, t(4;22)(p14;p11) and 46, XX, t(4;22) (p14;p11), and the karyotype of fetus in 5th pregnancy by chorionic villi sampling was found to be 46, XX, -22, +der(22) t(4;22)(p14;p11)mat. We report 3 succesive prenatally diagnosed familial partial trisomy 4p and 4/22 translocation of maternal origin with review of literature.

  • The structure of C_{28}H_{41}N_4O_4Br\;{\cdot}\;2H_2O$ has been determined by X-ray deffraction methods. The crystal system is triclinic, space group Pl, unit cell constants, a=9.000(1) $\AA$, b=9.312(3) $\AA$, c=9.344(2) $\AA$, $\alpha=89.37(20)^{\circ},\;\beta=68.81(3)^{\circ},\;\gamma=84.70(4)^{\circ},\;V=726.7(8){\AA},\;T=298K,\;Z=1,\;D_c=1.402Mgm^{-3}$. The intensity data were collected on an Enraf-Nonius CAD4 Diffractometer with graphite monochromated $MoK\alpha$ radiation $(\lambda=0.71073\;{\AA}$. The molecular structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least squares to a final $R=5.95\%$ for 2521 unique observed $F_0>4\sigma(F_0)$reflections and 370 parameters.

  • Synthesis of long fibrous $K_2Ti_4O_9$ was attempted to find a method to produce long fibrous $K_2Ti_6O_{13}$ and other derivatives and also phase transformation of $K_2Ti_4O_9$ synthesized was investigated. Long fibrous $K_2Ti_4O_9$ was succesively synthesized by the calcination reaction under the following reaction conditions ; reaction temperature of $1050^{\circ}C$, $TiO_2$ mole ratio to $K_2CO_3$ of 2.8 and reaction time of 3hrs, and scattering of calcined products for 10hrs with hot boiling water. $K_2Ti_4O_9$ showed lower structural stability under heat treatment and the structure of $K_2Ti_4O_9$ was converted to $K_2Ti_6O_{13}$ under heating temperature of over $250^{\circ}C$.

  • The anticomplementary activity of stilbenes from medicinal plants in Korea was investigated in vitro. 3,5-Dihydroxy-4'-methoxystilbene (3) was most potent with $IC_{50}$ value of $1.5{\times}10^{-4}M$ followed by rhapontigenin (4), oxyresverastrol (2), 2,3,4',5-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-beta-glucoside (9), rhaponticin (8), resverastrol (1), and piceid (7). The activity was found to be increased by a methylation on a hydroxy group of C-4' of 1, but decreased by further methylation on hydroxy groups of C-3 and C-5 and glucosylation on any hydroxy group of 1. Addition of hydroxy group on C-2' of 1 or C-3' of 3 was little affected on the anticomplementary activity but the activity was increased by O-glucosylation on C-2 of 1.

$K^4$-chain Reductions for Computing 2-terminal Reliability in an Undirected Network (무방향 네트워크의 2-터미날 신뢰성 계산을 위한 $K^4$-chain 축소)

  • For an undirected stochastic network G, the 2-terminal reliability of G, R(G) is the probability that the specific two nodes (called as terminal nodes) are connected in G. A. typical network reliability problem is to compute R(G). It has been shown that the computation problem of R(G) is NP-hard. So, any algorithm to compute R(G) has a runngin time which is exponential in the size of G. If by some means, the problem size, G is reduced, it can result in immense savings. The means to reduce the size of the problem are the reliability preserving reductions and graph decompositions. We introduce a net set of reliability preserving reductions : the $K^{4}$ (complete graph of 4-nodes)-chain reductions. The total number of the different $K^{4}$ types in R(G), is 6. We present the reduction formula for each $K^{4}$ type. But in computing R(G), it is possible that homeomorphic graphs from $K^{4}$ occur. We devide the homemorphic graphs from $K^{4}$ into 3 types. We develop the reliability preserving reductions for s types, and show that the remaining one is divided into two subgraphs which can be reduced by $K^{4}$-chain reductions 7 polygon-to-chain reductions.

  • 3,4-Dimethyl-N-[4-chloro-2-fluoro-5-{(pyrazolylmethyl)oxy}phenyl]maleimides or 3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-N-[4-chloro-2-fluoro-5-{(pylazolylmethyl)oxy} phenyl]phthalimides were prepared and evaluated their herbicidal activities under paddy conditions. Those compounds which have N-methyl-5-pyrazolylmethyloxy moiety showed good tolerance in transplanted rice and strong herbicidal activities on barnyardgrass below 60 g/ha of dose.

  • Highly efficient synthesis of substituted benzo[1,4]oxazin-3-ones and pyrido[1,4]oxazin-2-ones under microwave irradiation via Smiles rearrangement is reported. Substituted benzo[1,4]oxazin-3-ones and pyrido[1,4]oxazin-2-ones were obtained by treatment of substituted 2-chlorophenols or 2-chloropyridols with N-substituted 2-chloroacetamide in the presence of potassium carbonate in MeCN and subsequent exposure to cesium carbonate in DMF. All the reactions which take 2-10 hours under conventional condition were completed successfully within a few minutes under microwave irradiation giving moderate to excellent yields.
