The presence of L-malic acid in culture media contaniing glucose stimulated the growth rates of Leuconostoc oenos strains. The L-malic acid also stimulated the synthesis and activity of D-malate dehydrogenase (D-LDH) resulting in rapid production of D-lactate from glucose. The rapid utilization of glucose under the presence of L-malic acid may explain, in part, the stimulatory effect of the compound on the growth rate of leuconostocs.

This paper presents a clock and data recovery circuit with an adaptive loop bandwidth calibration scheme and the idle power saved frequency acquisition. The loop bandwidth calibration adaptively controls injection currents of the main loop with a trimmable bandgap reference circuit and trains the VCO to operate in the linear frequency control range. For stand-by power reduction of the phase detector, a clock gating circuit blocks 8-phase clock signals from the VCO and cuts off the current paths of current mode D-flip flops and latches during the frequency acquisition. 77.96% reduction has been accomplished in idle power consumption of the phase detector. In the jitter experiment, the proposed scheme reduces the jitter tolerance variation from 0.45-UI to 0.2-UI at 1-MHz as compared with the conventional circuit.

Objective: In children with acute otitis media, we investigated the relationship between state of tympanic membrane and treatment period by video otoscope. Methods: Ten children(6 boys, 4 girls) with acute otitis media were assigned to one of three groups. In the grade I, there were redness in the tympanic membrane. In the grade II, there were bulging, effusion with exudate, dark color in the tympanic membrane. In the grade III, there were effusion with purulent exudate or cholesteatoma with serous exudate. And we investigated the treatment period in each group. Results: Overall, the $mean{\pm}S.D.$ on the treatment period in the grade I was shorter than grade II. It was $12.6{\pm}5.18$ in the grade I versus $26{\pm}2.83$ in the grade II. That in the grade II was shorter than grade III. It was $26{\pm}2.83$ in the grade II versus $148{\pm}43.03$ in the grade III. Conclusions: Although we couldn't have enough cases in each group. we could predict the conclusion that there was the relationship between treatment period and state of tympanic membrane.

In order to screen microorganisms producing phospholipase D (PLD) [EC 3.1.4.4], culture broths of about 900 strains of soil bacteria were subjected to examine for the PLD activity. When the hydrolytic activity of PLD (H-activity) in the supernatant was determined, 64 strains produced PLD more than 0.3 unit/ml and all of them were actinomycetes. Among 26 culture broths tested, 6 ones had transphosphatidylation activity (T-activity) of 30~68%. When the strains except one were cultivated on 3 different media at 30$\circ$C for 3 days under aerobic condition, strain # 1090 on medium B (yeast extract 1%, peptone 1%, glucose 1.5%, glycerol 1%, CaCO$_{3}$ 0.4%, and pH 7.2) produced PLD with much higher H- and T-activity, which were 8.3 units/ml and 76.3%, respectively. Subsequently, time course of PLD production of the strain # 1090 during cultivation with aeration of 1 v/v/m and agitation of 400 rpm at 30$\circ$C for 5 days on medium B in jar fermentor was investigated. H-activty of PLD reached almost maximum (about 9 units/ml) after 32 hours and maximal T-activity was found to be about 80%.

In this study, we propose a 3D virtual reality based presentation training system to help implement the virtual presentation environment, such as the real world, to present it confidently in the real world. The proposed system provided a realistic and highly engaging presentation and interview environment by analyzing the speakers' voice and behavior in real time to be reflected in the audience of the virtual space. Using HMD and VR Controller that become 6DOF Tracking, the presenter can change the timing and interaction of the virtual space using Kinect, and the virtual space can be changed to various settings set by the user. The presenter will look at presentation files and scripts displayed in separate views within the virtual space to understand the content and master the presentation.

In this study, HEVC over DVB-T2 systems with a bandwidth of 6 MHz is considered, particularly for the terrestrial 4K-UHDTV broadcasting service in the Republic of Korea. The threshold of visibility carrier-to-noise power ratio (ToV C/N) and the receiver minimum required input level (sensitivity) for satisfying the subjective picture failure (SPF) condition are measured in the laboratory. It is observed, for transmitting 26.37 Mbps data stream correctly, that ToV C/N is 18.8 dB on average, and the receiver sensitivity is varied from minimum -84.2 dBm to maximum -80.0 dBm. Based on the results, the receiver noise floor is calculated by -100 dBm on average.

The paper is a phase controlled loop antenna for multi-media devices. We developed a phase control loop pattern arrangement methods for loop antenna in mobile devices like as a cell phone and PCS, WCDMA. In the loop antenna pattern, arrange close adhesive the loop antenna pattern $180^\circ$ cycle in wave length, the radiated electro-magnetic wave from close adhesive loop pattern become to coherent wave than the phase controlled loop antenna has high efficiency and high radiation gain. To acquire a wide band width on phase controlled loop antenna, we arrange a multiple phase controlled loop pattern that has a different length each other. Different length for each other loop pattern cause a different frequency that we can acquire a wide band width for loop antenna from close adhesive phase control. In experiment, we designed a CDMA850 mobile multi-media antenna in 20mm$\times$20mm area thickness 0.4mm, the radiation efficiency is over 60% and radiation gain is over 0dBi.

This experiment was canted out to obtain embryogenic callus and to understand developmental mechanism of somatic embryogenesis in Oenanthe javanica ($B_{L.}$) DC. experiments included the examination of explant source and media for embryogenic callus production and the observation of developmental pattern of embryogenic cells and non-embryogenic cells. Embryogenic calli were formed on zygotic pro-embryos together with their endosperms when they were cultured on Ms media containing 1.0mg/L 2,4-D. Embryogenic calli were also formed on the intact surface in vitro grown stem or petiole segmentsafrer 6-8 weeks of culture, whereas non-embryogenic calli were formed on cut surfaces of the stem and petiole after 2 weeks of culture. Non-embryogenic calli were rhizogenic in suspension and solid media culture.

In this paper, we propose Adaptive GOP Structure to enhance the coding performance of scalable video coding in JVT. Adaptive GOP Structure considers temporal variances of video sequence. In general, SVC encodes a video sequence with fixed GOP size. The coding performance is varying according to the temporal variance of a video sequence. Thus, Adaptive GOP Structure method is proposed. It selects GOP size adaptively by considering temporal variance of video sequence. In the experiments, the propose method showed the enhanced coding performance in most sequences. The PSNR gain of Crew sequence is up to 0.63 dB.

This experiment was conducted to determine factors affecting callus induction of Vernal alfalfa. Growth regulators, basal medium, medium pH, explant age, and agar concentration for callus induction were investigated. The results obtained were as follows: For the callus induction, 2-5 mg/l 2,4-D alone was found to be most effective on callus induction. Cytokinins did not have positive effect on the callus induction, and even the more cytokinin added induced the less callus. Callus yield was much higher in B5 or SH medium than in any other media. The calli induced in PC and MS media were more friable than those induced in other media. The medium pH of 5.8 gave the best response of callus induction. At higher than pH 7.0, callus induction was inhibited severely. The effective seedling age for callus induction was around 9 days. In agar concentration, 0.5 % (W/V) was suitable for callus induction and it was severely depressed at above 1 %. Callus induction was not influenced by day length or illumination. Calli cultured under 1618 hour lightldark cycle became more compact and green than those cultured under the dark.
