  • The first national QC Circle Convention sponsored by Industry Advancement Administration in 1975 was the beginning of employees group activity from a national point of view. Subsequently some events such as the firs Nationwide Factory Seamaul activity small Group Convention, which was supervised by the ministry of Trading and Industry and Factory Seamaulundong promotion Center, paved the way for proliferation of the group activity through all kinds of manufacturing. Although since November 1982 these two conventions has been united, many problems have been disclosed that are against the basic principles more or less. Worker's group activity is, essentially, a trouble shooting oriented voluntary small group within their working place to improve the surroundings creatively. In practice, however, many groups are so typical and so impetuous of the material effect that it is worried to be inclined to outform rather than contents. To prevent this point it is recommended that worker's group activity be promoted continuously and on the basis of the original principle of small group activity to obtain practical and rich results, and systematically to be more effective and active considering the managerial environment and the intellectual level of the consisting members.

도서관목록에서 폭소노미 적용의 의미와 한계 (Meaning and Limitations of Folksonomy in Library Cataloging)

  • 이 연구는 폭소노미에 대한 우리 도서관계의 보다 근원적인 이해를 도모하고, 그를 통해 우리 도서관의 실정에 보다 적합한 폭소노미에 대한 접근 및 수용 방법을 강구해 보고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 구체적으로, 이 연구는 관련 문헌에 대한 조사와 분석에 근거하여, (1) 폭소노미가 등장하게 된 배경과 그에 내재된 철학적 의미를 도서관목록의 전통적 의미에 견주면서 살펴보고, 이어 (2) 폭소노미를 바라보는 북미 문헌정보학계의 관점과 도서관 현장에서의 구체적인 적용 사례를 소개하고, 더불어 (3) 폭소노미의 적용 결과를 둘러싼 북미 도서관 현장에서의 유용성 논의에 대해 분석함으로써, 긍극적으로 (4) 폭소노미의 수용에 앞서 우리 도서관계가 고민해야할 과제와 취해야 할 전략에 대해 논의하였다.

지속가능한 농업발전을 위한 전략과 추진과제 (Strategies and Directions for Developing Sustainable Agriculture in Korea)

  • The objective of this paper is to formulate strategies and action programs for developing sustainable agriculture in Korea. There is increasing evidence that agriculture has been preoccupied with increasing productivity much to the detriment of environmental degradation. The issue of increasing agricultural productivity so as not to undermine the environment is a difficult task. In reality, there are many definitions of sustainable agriculture and sustainable agricultural development. In this paper, sustainable agriculture is defined by its ability to ensure future supplies of agricultural products at acceptable economic and environmental costs to the society. Sustainable agriculture development refers to the optimal level of interaction among the three dimensions - the environmental, the economic and the social - through dynamic and adaptive processes of trade-off. In order to formulate the strategies for developing sustainable agriculture, three stage approaches such as strategic analysis, strategic choice, and strategic implementation are employed. The basic framework for strategies of sustainable agriculture development consists of five steps such as vision, targets, principles, action plan and policy instruments. The major action plans for activating formulated strategies are suggested as integrating agricultural and environmental policy measures, establishing the system of optimal agri-environmental resources management practices, establishing safe and high quality product system and its effective marketing system, increasing the R&D investment for developing sustainable agro-technology, developing indicators for measuring sustainable agricultural development, and taking a share in related roles for all parties including farmers, consumers, policy makers, researchers and NGOs.

치아우식증 탐지 및 평가의 기준 체계, ICDAS에 대한 고찰 (Review on International Caries Detection and Assessment System)

  • Objectives : In most developed countries there has been a substantial decrease in the prevalence of dental caries in children of 12 years old over the past 40 years. This change in epidemiology highlights the importance of preventive management in dentistry. For successful management of early caries lesions, it is essential to detect and assess the pathological changes of dental caries. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the overview of International Caries Detection and Assessment System(ICDAS) criteria for the detection and assessment of early caries lesions by literature reviews. Methods : The author reviewed the MEDLINE search by the key words of 'caries assessment', 'caries detection', 'caries measurement', and 'ICDAS'. Results : This literature review provided an overview of International Caries Detection and Assessment System(ICDAS) criteria for the detection and assessment of early caries lesions. This article showed the principles, concept, and primary caries detection criteria of the ICDAS. The ICDAS can macroscopically measure the enamel surface changes and potential histological depth of caries lesions by the surface characteristics of the teeth. The ICDAS criteria allow researchers and clinicians to choose the stage of dental caries and characteristics for assessment. Conclusions : ICDAS can be an adjunct method to clinical decision making and preventive treatment planning.

제일원리 계산을 이용한 스트론튬 페라이트의 자기적 특성 전산모사 (First-principles study of the magnetic properties of the strontium hexaferrite $SrFe_{12}O_{19}$)

  • 영구자석은 크게 Hard ferrite와 희토류계 자석, 그리고 Alnico 주조자석으로 구별되어진다. 그동안 Hard ferrite는 산업적으로 전자기 응용제품 또는 각종 구동 모터에 응용되어 왔지만, 최근 Nd계 희토류 자것이 고성능 모터의 소재로 급격히 대체되고 있다. 하지만, 희토류계 원료에 비해 동일 중량 대비 40~60배 가량 저렴한 Hard ferrite의 사용은 현재까지도 꾸준히 유지되고 있으며, 최근 자동차 고성능 모터용 Sr ferrite의 개발이 연구 중이다.[2] 본 연구에서는 제일원리 전산모사를 통하여 HCP 구조의 기본 Unit Cell 64개 원자를 가진 Sr-ferrite의 격자상수를 계산하여 기존 연구결과와 비교하였으며, 자화에너지와 자기모멘트를 계산하였다. 또한 향후 각종 첨가물의 영향에 대한 연구를 위해 기본 구조 및 치환 구조에 대해 고찰하였다. 그 결과 가장 안정한 에너지를 갖는 격자상수는 a=5.88, b=23.03으로 계산되어 Kimura et al의 측정 결과와 유사한 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며, $E_F$가 3.9171, $M_B$는 46.6481로 계산되었다. 항후 Sr-ferrite의 구조에서 Fe atom의 일부를 동일주기 원소인 Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu로 치환하여 자기적 특성을 계산하여 본 연구결과와 비교하고자 한다.

Antioxidant Effects of Plant Extracts on Free Radicals and Lipid Peroxidation

  • Reactive oxygen species damage biomolecules such as lipids, proteins, sugars and DNA, which can not only lead to various disease but also oxidative damage resulting aging. In order to search for antioxidants from plants, the antioxidant effects of the MeOH extracts from 182 plants were evaluated. The results showed that thirteen plant extracts exhibited antioxidant activity (>80%) in DPPH radical assay, seven plant extracts demonstrated antioxidant activity (>40%) in the hydroxyl radical assay and eighteen plant extracts were active (>80%) in the lipid peroxidation assay. In particular, the extracts of Distylium racemosum (Hamamelidaceae), Astilbe koreana (Saxifragaceae), Astilbe chinensis and Euphorbia supina (Euphorbiaceae) were identified as potent principles of antioxidant activity in all the assay systems.

중년여성의 폐경기 적응과 양생실천 정도 (Adaptation to Menopause and Use of Yangsaeng in Middle-aged Korean Women)

  • Purpose: The study addressed the adaption of middle- aged Korean women to menopause, including the use of Yangsaeng, a traditional health care regimen that incorporates specific principles and methods to promote health and prevent illness, with the aim of improving health and longevity of life. Methods: Middle-aged women (40~59 years, n=171) residing in Seoul and Gyeong-Gi Province. Data was collected by using a self-reported questionnaire. Menopausal period adaptation was measured by 29 items in four categories (physical, self-concept, role function, and inter-dependent). Yangsaeng was measured by 31 questionnaire items in eight categories (morality, mind, diet, activity and rest, exercise, sleep, seasonal, and sexuality). Results: Significant differences in menopausal adaptation were evident on the basis of participant education and income. There were significant differences in Yangsaeng in terms of participant education, nature of employment, and income. Menopausal adaptation positively correlated to use of Yangsaeng. Physical adaptation, self-concept adaptation, role function adaptation, and inter-dependent adaptation positively correlated to morality Yangsaeng, mind Yangsaeng, and activity and rest Yangsaeng. Conclusion: Middle-aged Korean women who practice Yangsaeng may be better positioned to adapt to menopause. Yangsaeng may be an advantageous nursing intervention in this population.

천연물로부터 프롤릴 엔도펩티다제 저해제의 검색 (Screening of Prolyl Endopeptidase Inhibitors from Natural Products)

  • One hundred and seventy crude drugs were screened for prolyl endopeptidase (PEP) inhibitors. Among them, 80% methanolic extract of 18 medicinal plants such as Polygonum cuspi data, Sanguisorba officinalis, Eugenia caryophyllata, Rubus coreanus, Cinnamomum cassia (Cassiae Cortex and Cinammomi Ramulus), Rheum palmatum, Ulmus pumila, Sorbus commixta, Areca catechu, Uncaria sinensis, Terminalia chebula, Caesalpinia sappan, Nelumbo nucifera, Machilus thunbergii, Paeonia moutan, Elscholtzia patrini and Cynomorium coccineum inhibited more than 70% of PEP activity at a concentration of 40 ppm. The active principles of P. moutan, M. thunbergii, T chebula, A. catechu, S. commixta, R. palmatum, R. coreanus, E. caryophyllata and P. cuspidata were transferred into organic solvents, which showed more than 75% inhibition at 5 ppm.

  • Sustainable housing design can contribute to dramatically reduced energy usage and can be applied to all new building projects. This paper explores the potential in Korea of applying available energy efficient building technologies. The objective was to determine the degree of energy reduction that can easily be achieved in new building design. The pilot project is providing some prototypes with display units which incorporate principles of sustainable design and performance utilizing the eco-design objectives. This building challenges ingrained preconceptions about system designs for four energy saving levels(40%, 60%, 80% and zero energy) and exposes barriers to low energy buildings posed by new standards and guidelines.

  • 명상 레d1다에서 정밀 표적 식별을 위한 초고해상도 능력은 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 영상 레이다의 거리 분해능을 획기적으로 향상시키는 방법으로서 송신 펄스의 단위 첩(Chirp) 변조 파형을 모듈방식으로 확장하여 광대역의 송신 파형을 얻을 수 있는 초고해상도 레이다 첩 파형 설계 기법에 대하여 논한다. 먼저 디지털 첩 신호발생 원리와 광대역 첩 신호 파형을 얻기 위한 신호대역 연결 빛 분리 기법을 제시한다. 그리고, 영상 레이다의 거리 해상도 성능분석을 위하여 발생시건 광대역 신호 파형 발생과 복원과정을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 성능 결과를 제시한다.
