In this study, optimum structural designs of braced (non-swaying) planar steel frames are investigated by using one of the recent meta-heuristic search techniques, teaching-learning based optimization. Optimum design problems are performed according to American Institute of Steel Construction- Allowable Stress Design (AISC-ASD) specifications. A computer program is developed in MATLAB interacting with SAP2000 OAPI (Open Application Programming Interface) to conduct optimization procedures. Optimum cross sections are selected from a specified list of 128W profiles taken from AISC. Two different braced planar frames taken from literature are carried out for stress, geometric size, displacement and inter-storey drift constraints. It is concluded that teaching-learning based optimization presents robust and applicable optimum solutions in multi-element structural problems.

The effect of a new treatment is proven through the comparison of a new treatment with placebo; however, the number of parent non-inferiority trials tends to grow proportionally to the number of active controls. In a non-inferiority trial a new treatment is approved by proof that the new treatment is not inferior to an active control; however, both additional assumptions and historical trials are needed to show (through the comparison of the new treatment with the active control in a non-inferiority trial) that the new treatment is more efficacious than a putative placebo. The two different methods of using the historical data: frequentist principle method and meta-analytic method. This paper discusses the statistical methods and different Type I error rates obtained through the different methods employed.

The Janggun mine area is occupied by the Proterzoic and the Paleozoic meta-pelites, which are intruded by the Jurassic Chunyang granite. The metamorphic terrain is divided into four zones of progressive metamorphism on the basis of mineral assemblages. The zones are chlorite zone, staurolite zone, andalusite zone, sillimanite zone ascending order. Boundary lines between the zones resemble outline of the Chunyang granite mass. Isograd reactions are chlorite+chloritoid+muscovite=staurolite+biotite+quartz+water, staurolite+chlorite+muscovite+quartz=andalusite+biotite+water, and staurolite+muscovite+quartz=andalusite+biotite+garnet+water between the chlorite zone and the staurolite zone, the staurolite zone and the andalusite zone, and the andalusite zone and the sillimanite zone, repectively. They are univariant reactions in KFMASH component system. Metamorphic conditions estimated from garnet-biotite geothermometers and phase equlibria are $530^{\circ}C$ and lower than 4 kb.

In this article, a harmony search algorithm is presented for optimum design of steel frame structures. Harmony search is a meta-heuristic search method which has been developed recently. It is based on the analogy between the performance process of natural music and searching for solutions of optimization problems. The design algorithms obtain minimum weight frames by selecting suitable sections from a standard set of steel sections such as American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) wide-flange (W) shapes. Stress constraints of AISC Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) and AISC Allowable Stress Design (ASD) specifications, maximum (lateral displacement) and interstorey drift constraints, and also size constraint for columns were imposed on frames. The results of harmony search algorithm were compared to those of the other optimization algorithms such as genetic algorithm, optimality criterion and simulated annealing for two planar and two space frame structures taken from the literature. The comparisons showed that the harmony search algorithm yielded lighter designs for the design examples presented.

Surgical resection is the mainstay of treatment for locally advanced esophageal cancer. Neoadjuvant therapy is recommended to improve survival, based on the results of several randomized trials and meta-analyses. However, controversy remains regarding how to combine surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Moreover, in East Asia, the predominant histological type is esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, which has a different epidemiology and tumor biology from esophageal or gastroesophageal junctional adenocarcinoma. As such, the management of esophageal cancer in East Asia seems to be different from that in Western countries. Thus, this article reviews the current evidence on neoadjuvant therapy and considers the optimal combinations and ongoing strategies of multimodal therapy for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

The purpose of this study was to analyze acupuncture treatment methods and acupoint used to treat infertility in the last decade. The data were retrieved from 2010.1 to 2021.8. using national and international electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, OASIS, NDSL, and KISS). "Infertility," "sterility," "acupuncture," "electroacupuncture," "bloodletting," "pharmacopuncture," were used as search terms. All studies were mainly concerned with acupuncture treatment of infertility, but the studies which were not related included; (1) infertility or acupuncture treatment; (2) animal studies; (3) review/meta/protocol or clinical study; comparative studies and case reports which were excluded from this review. Only clinical trials for acupuncture treatment of infertility were included in this review (n = 18). For infertility treatment studies using acupuncture, polycystic ovarian syndrome was the main cause of infertility, the most common acupoint used was CV4, CV3, CV6, SP6, BL23, and the treatment effect significantly improved in the group receiving acupuncture treatment compared with the control group, or the group taking Western medicine alone. In some studies, the group using acupuncture treatment did not show side effects. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for infertility.

Currently, issues related to freight at Vietnamese logistics companies are becoming more and more urgent because of typical problems in Vietnam such as traffic, infrastructure, and application of information technology. This problem has been studied by applying many different approaches such as Integer Programming (LP), Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), hybrid, meta search, … In this paper, we applied the ILP model in order to deal with the VRP problem in a small size logistics company which is very popular in Vietnam. The experiments showed promising results with some optimal solutions with some small extra costs.

In this study, keywords from representative online portal sites such as Naver, Google, and Youtube were collected based on text mining analysis technique using Textom to check the changes in metqaverse after COVID-19. before Corona, it was confirmed that social media platforms such as Kakao Talk, Facebook, and Twitter were mentioned, and among the four metaverse, consumer awareness was still concentrated in the field of life logging. However, after Corona, keywords from Roblox, Fortnite, and Geppetto appeared, and keywords such as Universe, Space, Meta, and the world appeared, so Metaverse was recognized as a virtual world. As a result, it was confirmed that consumer perception changed from the life logging of Metaverse to the mirror world. Third, keywords such as cryptocurrency, cryptocurrency, coin, and exchange appeared before Corona, and the word frequency ranking for blockchain, which is an underlying technology, was high, but after Corona, the word frequency ranking fell significantly as mentioned above.

Breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) is characterized by the persistent accumulation of interstitial fluid in the peripheral tissues after treatment for breast cancer. Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy is widely used as supportive care for patients with BCRL. A search was performed in the PubMed database to find relevant articles published over the last 20 years. Randomized controlled trials that evaluated the efficacy of PBM therapy on BCRL were included. A total of 24 studies were identified through the PubMed database. Seven studies were used for the final analysis, after excluding items that did not meet the duplication and inclusion criteria. Although PBM showed some improvement in reducing arm circumference and the symptoms related to BCRL, the results of the meta-analysis did not show any significant benefit in alleviating lymphedema. Further studies are needed with the recruitment of more participants to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of PBM in the management of BCRL.
