A study of the fabrication of AlGaAs/GaAs HBT with an air-bridge isolation structure induced by isotropic undercut etching (등방성 언더컷 식각에 의한 에어-브리지 소자 격리 구조를 갖는 AaGaAs/GaAs HBT의 제작에 관한 연구)

  • This paper report sthe design, fabrication and characterization of an AlGaAs/GaAs HBT (heterojunction bipolar transistor) with an air-bridge isolation structure which is made to improve high frequency characteristics for the application to the mobile communication system in the next genration. We found that the size, shape and structure of HBT have an effect on the high frequency operation. The measured dc and ac characteristics of the four type HBTs were compared and analyzed. An E-type HBT with an air-bridge structure by undercut etching exhibited .beta.=56, $V_{off-set}$ = 0.3 V, B $V_{CEO}$=7.0V with $f_{T}$=40 GHz and $f_{max}$=45GHz at a collector current density of 7.1*10$^{4}$ A/c $m^{2}$.>.

  • This paper reports a method measuring magnetostriction, Young's moduli of a substrate and film and ${\Delta}\;E$-effect with one apparatus. A substrate deposited with a thin magnetic film is parallely cantilevered paraIled to a metal plate electrode, forming a capacitive cell. The cantilever deflects due to own weight, applied electric and magnetic filed. The smaIl change of the capacitance caused by this deflection is measured by a sensitive capaci-tance bridge. Young's modulus, magnetostriction and ${\Delta}\;E$ effect can be calculated by theoretical analysis with the weight, applied field and deflection data.

  • 액정 디스플레이의 백라이트에 사용되는 냉음극 방전램프(CCFL: Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) 구동 인버터의 설계함에 있어 압전 변압기(Piezoelectric Transformer)를 사용하였으며, 파라미터 선정 및 최적화를 하여 실험을 통해 검증하였다. 적용한 압전 인버터로는 푸시-풀(Push-pull)과 하프-브리지(Half-bridge) 회로이며, 휘도 제어기법으로는 아날로그(Analog)와 버스트(Burst) 방법을 사용하였다. 푸시-풀 인버터의 경우 아날로그 제어방식으로 제어전압 2.5-4.5V에서 출력전류 1-6mA(최소)로 휘도 0-100$\%$ 특성을 보였다. 입출력 효율로 18.6(최소)-90.3(최대)$\%$를 얻었으며, 버스트 제어방식에서는 듀티비 50-5$\%$에서 1-6mA의 제어 성능을 보였다. 인버터의 입출력 효율은 13.6(최소)-82.1(최대)$\%$를 얻었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 일반 가정용 전원으로 친환경 차량의 배터리를 충전할 수 있는 On-board charger를 위한 단일단 능동클램프 하프브리지 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 컨버터는 4개의 스위칭 소자를 가지며 전 듀티영역에서 ZVS가 성취되므로 스위칭 주파수를 높일 수 있다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 타당성 및 성능을 검증하였다.

  • Container vessel sizes have constantly increased over the past two decades. With increasing ship sizes and higher container loading capacities, the adoption of lashing bridges has also increased. Today's lashing bridge designs range from 1st tier to 3rd tier lashing bridges. Container securing program of the past which is based on two lashing rods and 1st tier lashing bridge has to be improved to be suitable for the present time. The equilibrium equations in this study are established to cover the application of 3~4 lashing rods and 2nd~3rd tier lashing bridges. In addition developed program is improved to be able to calculate the reaction forces and optimum arrangement under the external lashing. An optimization algorithm which is suitable for the container securing problems involved the equality constraint has been also adopted in this study.

  • The variable frequency and variable voltage AC source made by a conventional inverter which is composed of power semi-conductors includes much noises in sine wave due to high frequency switching of DC source. In this paper the 3rd low pass LC filter for a variable speed 3 phase induction motor driven by a full bridge inverter is introduced to solve the EMI problem by serious noise current. The utility of a modified 3rd order Butterworth LC filter is confirmed through FFT analysis of sine waves and noiseless ACsource can be obtained by the proposed LC filter. The speed of a 3 phase induction motor driven by a full bridge inverter with a LC filter is satisfactorily controlled by a digital PID controller under the condition of stepwise load and setpoint changes.

  • We considered of the efficiency for the Buck+Half bridge converter, this converter has advantages of applications for a low output voltage, a high output current and a wide input voltage. Developed the Buck+Half Bridge converter ratings are of $36{\sim}72V$ input and 3.3V/30A output. In Half Bridge converter the $86{\sim}96.4%$ of the efficiency is measured at 100kHz switching frequency with PQI core. In the case of synchronized the Buck+Half Bridge converter, the measured efficiency is higher than the unsynchronized converter. In the synchronized Buck+Half Bridge, the maximum efficiency is up to 92.3% with PQI core at 100kHz, 7A output.

  • In this paper, a new design using a simulation method was proposed. And to estimate its validity, various electronic and optical data were measured after making a 150[W] electronic ballast for high pressure sodium lamps. Using PSpice 9.1, the best solutions of various parameters such as the resonant frequency, the lamp output voltage, and the current of the electronic ballast were obtained. The power factor of the system was 99.8[%], the crest factor 1.44, the THD 4.99[%], and the weight 0.5[kg]. These are very good characteristics compared with a conventional HPS Lamp ballast.

  • A high precision transformer bridge system for comparison of primary capacitance standards at low frequencies was developed. Its main transformer was constructed by special winding techniques and has the inphase and quadrature error of $0.073{\times}10^{-6}$ and $0.14{\times}10^{-6}$ at 1592 Hz($\omega=10^4$) respectively. But the measurement uncertainty of this bridge system can be achieved $0.03{\times}10^{-6}$ by using some substitution method.
