In this paper we deal with the problem of recovering 3-D motion and structure from a time-varying 2-D velocity vector field. A great deal has been done on this topic, most of which has concentrated on finding necessary and sufficient conditions for there to be a unique 3-D solution corresponding to a given 2-D motion. While previous work provides useful theoretical insight, in most situations the known algorithms have turned out to be too sensitive to be of much practical use. It appears that any robust algorithm must improve the 3-D solutions over time. As a step toward such algorithm, we present a method for recovering 3-D motion and structure from a given time-varying 2-D velocity vector field. The surface of the object in the scene is assumed to be locally planar. It is also assumed that 3-D velocity vectors are piecewise constant over three consecutive frames (or two snapshots of flow field). Our formulation relates 3-D motion and object geometry with the optical flow vector as well as its spatial and temporal derivatives. The linearization parameters, or equivalently, the first-order flow approximation (in space and time) is sufficient to recover rigid body motion and local surface structure from the local instantaneous flow field. We also demonstrate, through a sensitivity analysis carried out for synthetic and natural motions in space, that 3-D motion can be recovered reliably.
PURPOSE. The purpose of the study was to assess the influence of build orientations and density of support structures on the trueness of the 3D printed removable partial denture (RPD) frameworks. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A maxillary Kennedy class III and mandibular class I casts were 3D scanned and used to design and produce two 3D virtual models of RPD frameworks. Using digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing, 47 RPD frameworks were fabricated at 3 different build orientations (100, 135 and 150-degree angles) and 2 support structure densities. All frameworks were scanned and 3D compared to the original virtual RPD models by metrology software to check 3D deviations quantitatively and qualitatively. The accuracy data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA for build orientation comparison and independent sample t-test for structure density comparison at (α = .05). Points study analysis targeting RPD components and representative color maps were also studied. RESULTS. The build orientation of 135-degree angle of the maxillary frameworks showed the lowest deviation at the clasp arms of tooth 26 of the 135-degree angle group. The mandibular frameworks with 150-degree angle build orientation showed the least deviation at the rest on tooth 44 and the arm of the I-bar clasp of tooth 45. No significant difference was seen between different support structure densities. CONCLUSION. Build orientation had an influence on the accuracy of the frameworks, especially at a 135-degree angle of maxillary design and 150-degree of mandibular design. The difference in the support's density structure revealed no considerable effect on the accuracy.

A 3D ultrasonic anemometer measures the direction and velocity of wind in a 3D space. The 2D ultrasonic anemometers developed by different manufacturers do not differ significantly in terms of their form or structure. The 3D ultrasonic anemometers, on the other hand, have more diverse forms than their 2D counterparts depending on the measurement algorithms and methods. Designing and reviewing the structure at the initial stage and defining its performance objectives are time-consuming processes. The process can be made cost-effective and time-saving if the validity is tested by model design and structural interpretation, and the structure is designed to withstand high wind velocities. This study presents the results of a 3D ultrasonic anemometer on real sample data by using a 3D modeling program, CATIA, for ultrasonic anemometer modeling.
This study explored cases of 3D printing utilization in domestic and overseas fashion industries, and presented utilization strategies for fashion design departments in universities in future by grasping characteristics of newly appearing distribution types through 3D printing. Cases of producing costumes using 3D printing in fashion industry comprised a bikini using the material of Nylon12 that continuum fashion demonstrated, innovative 3D costumes by Iris Van Herpen, Tweed Suit using the material that Chanel manufactured with 3D printing technology, but they were limited to experimental fashion works due to limitations of 3D printer material and printing size. On the other hand, in fashion accessories, with jewelry and shoes at the head of the list, MCM and Kipling also demonstrated bags using this technology, and Elvis Pompilio and Gabriela Ligenza demonstrated 3D printing hat products as well. Except the above, as in glasses and neckties utilizing 3D printing, owing to reduced limitations of time, size and material, 3D printing was found to be utilized in fashion accessories other than costumes. Recently there has been a new consumption and distribution structure coming up focusing on 3D printing technology. That is, in overseas countries, content platforms sharing products modeled by oneself has rapidly appeared, and in our country as well, funnypoly, a 3D content platform appeared in 2015. The appearance of these new types of distribution structures means that the common people can produce design contents, and we believe that it may bring about a change in the traditional way of distribution structure. To walk in step with this change, it is believed that it is necessary for fashion design departments to raise college faculty members who can educate 3D printing, develop curriculum to educate 3D printing, and develop experiential programs connected with middle and high schools.
In this study for the development of a 3D pattern mill, we designed its layout which has high stiffness and low-weight structure. We calculated the load of each axis component when 3D pattern mill is under the worst cutting conditions. On base of the calculations, we determined the size of its structure and selected main components of the machine. Also, using FEM we analyzed the layout design of 3D pattern mill to reduce the wcight of structure and increase stiffness of it. According to the load position and direction, shapes and values of the deformation and the stress distributions are calculated, also we calculated the natural frequencies and mode shapes in order ta modify and redesign the weak parts
An analysis of the electronic structure and bonding in the ternary silicide YNiSi₃is made, using extended Huckel tight-binding calculations. The YNiSi₃structure consists of Ni-capped Si₂dimer layers and Si zigzag chains. Significant bonding interactions are present between the silicon atoms in the structure. The oxidation state formalism of $(Y^{3+})(Ni^0)(Si^3)^{3-}$ for YNiSi₃constitutes a good starting point to describe its electronic structure. Si atoms receive electrons from the most electropositive Y in YNiSi₃, and Ni 3d and Si 3p states dominate below the Fermi level. There is an interesting electron balance between the two Si and Ni sublattices. Since the ${\pi}^*$ orbitals in the Si chain and the Ni d and s block levels are almost completely occupied, the charge balance for YNiSi₃can be rewritten as $(Y^{3+})(Ni^{2-})(Si^{2-})(Si-Si)^+$, making the Si₂layers oxidized. These results suggest that the Si zigzag chain contains single bonds and the Si₂double layer possesses single bonds within a dimer with a partial double bond character. Strong Si-Si and Ni-Si bonding interactions are important for giving stability to the structure, while essentially no metal-metal bonding exists at all. The 2D metallic behavior of this compound is due to the Si-Si interaction leading to dispersion of the several Si₂π bands crossing the Fermi level in the plane perpendicular to the crystallographic b axis.
