조향장치용 스플라인 샤프트 이형인발 공정변수 최적화 (Optimization of Process Variables of Shape Drawing for Steering Spline Shaft)

  • In the multi-pass shape drawing process, the appropriate process design is very important to produce sound products. The reduction ratio, die angle, and the intermediate die shape are very important process variable of the multi-pass shape drawing. The aim of this study is the determination of the reduction ratio, die angle, and the intermediate die shape of the 2 pass shape drawing process for producing steering spline shaft. In this study, FE analysis, Taguchi method, and ANN(artificial neural network) were applied to determine the appropriate reduction ratio, die angle, and intermediate die shape. After the determination of the process variables, FE analysis and drawing experiment were performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the determined process variables. The dimensional accuracy of the final drawn spline shaft was evaluated by using 3D surface profiler and 3D laser digitizing system.

연직바람 관측장비를 위한 지형 클러터 방지 펜스 설계 (Design of Ground Clutter Prevention Fences for Radar Wind Profiler)

  • 본 논문에서는 연직바람 관측장비에 적용한 지형 클러터 방지 펜스 설계에 대하여 논한다. 연직바람 관측장비를 위한 클러터 펜스의 핵심 설계 포인트는 측면에서 들어오는 비기상 클러터를 제거하여 수신신호의 품질을 향상시켜 연직바람 관측장비의 신뢰도를 높이기 위함이다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 연직바람 관측장비 주위에 메탈라스 메쉬망으로 구성된 클러터 방지 펜스를 제안하고, 모의시험을 통해 안테나 위상중심, 하단펜스의 길이와 높이, 상단펜스의 높이 및 기울기를 설계하였다. 설계된 클러터 방지 펜스와 256 능동위상 배열 안테나를 기초 자료로 활용하여 설계된 클러터 방지 펜스의 유무에 따라 ±90° 방향의 사이드로브가 약 30dB 이상 감소되는 것을 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였다. 설계된 클러터 방지 펜스는 3D 모델링을 통해 제작하였고, 현재 운용되고 있는 연직바람 관측장비에 적용하여 안테나 측면(±90°)에서 약 20dB이상의 클러터 차폐 성능을 확인하였다.

  • 글씨 전도성 잉크의 인쇄공정에 있어서 반복인쇄를 정밀하게 수행할 수 있는 기술로서 align system을 개발하였다. 이 system의 resolution 은 0.5um 이며 인쇄 working plate의 이송속도는 최대 1.5m/s 이다. 현재 소성 공정을 포함한 반복인쇄 실험은 30um이상의 drop탄착점 오차를 보이고 있으며, 두께와 전기전도도 향상을 위한 정밀한 align system이 필요하게 되었다. 이를 충족시키기 위해 개발되어진 초정밀 align system은 $1{\sim}2{\mu}m$이내의 오차로 반복인쇄가 가능하며, head가 토출하는 잉크의 straightness 및 전도성 잉크를 토출하는 인쇄평가기의 기계적 정밀도도 확인할 수 있다. 모든 잉크 배선의 두께 항상 인쇄실험이 가능하며, substrate의 종류와 잉크에 제한적이지 않다. 특히 prototype의 기판배선을 위해 PCB에 배선을 형성할 시에 본 system으로 직접 align mark를 지정할 수 있어 기판 내에 미리 제작되어진 align용 인식마크가 불필요하다. 이 system을 이용하여 drop과 배선의 반복인쇄실험을 진행하였으며, 광학현미경과 3D profiler를 사용하여 분석해 보았다.

듀얼 디퓨저 리소그래피를 이용한 3 차원 마이크로 구조의 제작 (Fabrication of 3D Micro Structure by Dual Diffuser Lithography)

  • Recently, products that a have 3-dimensional(3D) micro structure have been in wide use. To fabricate these 3D micro structures, several methods, such as stereo lithography, reflow process, and diffuser lithography, have been used. However, these methods are either very complicated, have limitations in terms of patterns dimensions or need expensive components. To overcome these limitations, we fabricated various 3D micro structures in one step using a pair of diffusers that diffract the incident beam of UV light at wide angles. In the experiment, we used positive photoresist to coat the Si substrate. A pair of diffusers(ground glass diffuser, opal glass diffuser) with Gaussian and Lambertian scattering was placed above the photomask in the passage of UV light in the photolithography equipment. The incident rays of UV light diffracted twice at wider angles while passing through the diffusers. After exposure, the photoresist was developed fabricating the desired 3D micro structure. These micro structures were analyzed using FE-SEM and 3D-profiler data. As a result, this dual diffuser lithography(DDL) technique enabled us to fabricate various microstructures with different dimensions by just changing the combination of diffusers, making this technology an efficient alternative to other complex techniques.

고강도 극 세선의 피로 특성 향상을 위한 특정 인자 제시 (Critical Parameters governing on the Fatigue Properties in the Hyper-eutectoid Steel Wires used for Automotive Tire)

  • In this study, we focused on investigation of governing parameters affected on the fatigue properties in the hyper-eutectoid steel wires used for TBR tires. Steel wires are fabricated under different drawing strain from 3.36 to 3.80. Their diameters are 0.21 mm and 0.185mm, respectively. The fatigue properties was measured by hunter rotating beam tester, specially designed thin-sized steel wires. The results showed that the fatigue properites of steel wire, marked as A-1, were greater than the others, due to the low value of residual stress. In order to elucidate the variations of fatigue properties, the microstructure, surface defect and residual stress were observed and measured by useful analysis technique, such as TEM, 3D profiler and FIB.

Cu-Cu 패턴 직접접합을 위한 습식 용액에 따른 Cu 표면 식각 특성 평가 (Wet Etching Characteristics of Cu Surface for Cu-Cu Pattern Direct Bonds)

  • Cu-Cu 패턴의 직접접합 공정을 위하여 Buffered Oxide Etch(BOE) 및 Hydrofluoric acid(HF)의 습식 조건에 따른 Cu와 $SiO_2$의 식각 특성에 대한 평가를 수행하였다. 접촉식 3차원측정기(3D-Profiler)를 이용하여 Cu와 $SiO_2$의 단차 및 Chemical Mechanical Polishing(CMP)에 의한 Cu의 dishing된 정도를 분석 하였다. 실험 결과 BOE 및 HF 습식 식각 시간이 증가함에 따라 단차가 증가 하였고, BOE가 HF보다 더 식각 속도가 빠른 것을 확인하였다. BOE 및 HF 습식 식각 후 Cu의 dishing도 식각시간 증가에 따라 감소하였다. 식각 후 산화막 유무를 알아보기 위해 Cu표면을 X-선 광전자 분광법(X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, XPS)를 이용하여 분석 한 결과 HF습식 식각 후 BOE습식 식각보다 Cu표면산화막이 상대적으로 더 얇아 진 것을 확인하였다.

접촉모드 AFM의 시스템 분석 및 제어 (Analysis and Control f Contact Mode AFM)

  • Recently, scientists introduced a new type of microscope capable of investigating nonconducting surfaces in an atomic scale, which is called AFM (Atomic Force Microscope). It was an innovative attempt to overcome the limitation of STM (Scanning Tunnelling Microscope) which has been able to obtain the image of conducting surfaces. Surfaces of samples are imaged with atomic resolution. The AFM is an imaging tool or a profiler with unprecedented 3-D resolution for various surface types. The AFM technology, however, leaves a lot of room for improvement due to its delicate and fragile probing mechanism. One of the room for improvements is gap control between probe tip and sample surface. Distance between probe tip and sample surface must be kept in below one Angtrom in order to measure the sample surface in Angstrom resolution. In this paper, AFM system modeling, experimental system identification and control scheme based on system identification are performed and finally sample surface is measured by home-built AFM with such a control scheme.

FCVA 방법으로 증착된 DLC 박막의 열처리에 따른 구조적 물성 분석 (Effects of Thermal Treatment on Structural Properties of DLC Films Deposited by FCVA Method)

  • Effects of thermal treatment on the structural properties of diamond-like carbon (DU) films were examined. The DLC films were deposited by using a modified filtered cathodic vacuum arc (FCVA) deposition system and by varying the negative substrate bias voltage, deposition time, and nitrogen flow rate. Thermal treatment on DLC films was performed using a rapid thermal annealing (RTA) process at $600^{\circ}C$ for 2min. Raman spectroscopy, x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscope (AFM), and surface profiler were used to characterize the I$_{D}$I$_{G}$ intensity ratio, sp$^3$ hybrid carbon fraction, internal stress, and surface roughness. It was found for all the deposited DLC films that the RTA-treatment results in the release of internal compressive stress, while at the same time it leds to the decrease of sp$^3$ fraction and the increase of I$_{D}$I$_{G}$ intensity ratio. It was also suggested that the thermal treatment effect on the structural property of DLC films strongly depends on the diamond-like nature (i.e., sp$^3$ fraction) of as-deposited film.ed film.

지르코늄 합금 튜브의 산화와 프레팅 마멸 특성 (Oxidation and Fretting Wear Characteristics of Zirconium Alloy Tubes)

  • Oxidation characteristics of Zirlo and Zircaloy-4 tubes, which are widely used as nuclear power fuel cladding, are studied in steam environment up to $1200^{\circ}C$. Oxidation resistances are compared in terms of the mass increase due to the absorption of oxygen. The evolution of microscopic structure accompanied with the oxidation process is investigated. Also, the influence of oxidation on the fretting wear characteristics of the tubes is studied. Piezo-electrically actuated rig is employed to fret the tubes with cross-contacting arrangement. Wear scar is observed and measured, by using microscopes and a 3D-profiler. The results of fretting wear are quantified in terms of scar size, wear volume and wear coefficient, and compared for the three different tube materials of oxidated Zirlo, virgin Zirlo and Zircaloy-4.

  • The governing parameters affecting the fatigue properties have been investigated experimentally in the high carbon steel wires with 0.94 wt.%C. In order to find the crucial factors, the advanced analysis techniques such as optical 3-D profiler, focused ion beam(FIB) and transmission electron microscope(TEM) were used. The two-type steel wires with different drawing strain were fabricated. The fatigue properties were measured by hunter rotating beam tester, specially designed for thin-sized steel wires. It was found that the fatigue properties of the steel wires with high drawing strain was higher than that with other wires because of low residual stress and high adhesion condition of brass coating layer.
