  • The game engine has executed an application after making a mobile 3D game engine which is based on mobile 3D standard graphic API using openGL-ES so far. But, We could not do it satisfactorily that contents compatibility of various types as a various low-level's function is supported. At this point, This study introduce a mobile 3D game engine which is based on mobile 3D standard graphic API using JSR-184 that supporting a high-level's API more than openGL-ES and optimizing to Java environment on J2ME in the center of GSM phone. Also, We shows that the proposed skinned-mesh scheme for enhancing the process speed of a 3D object on JSR-184 engine. The experimental results are shown.

  • Game production education in a university is very important because it is the stage for completing a game education course as well as for determining a future of game industry. In order to perform various experience and creative learning, it should be able to effectively use a computer infrastructure representing the knowledge and information society for the purpose of obtaining and re-processing information necessary for game production through prediction of directions of game industry as well information technology. This research is focused on an effective game engine education for students whom want to become game graphics designers. The purpose of this study is to draw a lesson of game production utilizing game engines and it enables practice-focused class for game production. It also allows the class participant to manufacture prototypes without support from game programmers for their outcomes of works planned during the game production class. The theoretical background of game production compared and analyzed exemplary game engines. Based on the result, the study selected Unity 3D engine and conducted the research on the background where the Unity engine has been selected and its characteristics. In addition, this study provided an example of game production utilizing a game engine, and also described the details of actual realization. This study selected Torque3D with the Unity in order to identify the purpose of this study and efficiency of learning. Thus, the previous situation is that the class remained in making a game plan during the course of game production project and, students whose major is not game programming. Now, it is necessary for students to make many efforts to make a game in an active and positive attitude by utilizing a game engine beyond the previous method of class.

  • This study focused on design and implementation of Mobile 3D Bluetooth Game Engine based on OpenGL-ES. In Mobile 3D network game so far, there is a form the mainstream of wireless inter-net game using WAP and VM. But, VM game we popular because of an excessive communication expense problem for this mobile network game that occur when connect to wireless internet as point out to problem by it, that is, stand-alone game are very popular. This study introduce a mobile 3D Bluetooth Game Engine which is based on mobile 3D standard using OpenGL-ES to solve a problem like mobile network game generally that occur when connect to take pleasure a wireless internet from some people into a short distance. When the number of concurrent packet datum by Bluetooth terminal transfers to each other, we shows that the proposed scheduling scheme for enhancing the process speed up on Bluetooth.

  • Domestic game companies are competitive in developing on-line 2D game contents. However, they have difficulties in maintaining the competitive edge in the area of on-line 3D game technologies owing to the limited funds and technologies. The 3D on-line game engine technologies we have intended to propose in this research are highly expected to be the key technologies ensuring the competitive edge over other countries. For this, we propose a full 3D online game engine that reflects the cutting edge technologies trend in the computer gaming industry. Our game engine is integrated with rendering and animation core technologies to visualize the game world, and provides stable network service through the Internet using server technologies.

  • Due to smart phones introduced since 2007, mobile contents production become activated and with this trend, attention among different age groups to production of mobile games has been growing. Whereas in the past, development of games was the domain of developers equipped with technical knowledge, provision of editor-type engines in recent times is lowering the high barrier of entry to game production. This paper proposes an event-based module design method from the perspective of general users, aimed at producing games by oneself with a Unity 3D, one of editor-type game engines. This is to plan behaviors and roles in the unit of modules in the whole process of a game to be in line with the perspective of game production by one person. Each module includes diverse events that express game characteristics. In addition, the script function provided by the Unity 3D is appropriate to embody the proposed module structure and utilizes the Unity 3D. Lastly, this study produce a simple 3D mobile casual game in order to verify whether effective game production from the planning to the development is possible through the proposed method.

  • The use of the A* for the path search of the agent in the game map gives the computational overhead in real time game processing. To solve this problem, the route table was presented for the 2D game This route table is made in the game development phase and utilized in game playing. The route table designed for 2D game is extended for 3D game in this paper. But the memory space is required too much. This Problem can also be solved using the data compression by skipping the duplicated route table.

  • In the large scale indoor 3D game scenes, the data amount of potentially visible set (PVS) which pre-computes the information of occlusion culling can be huge. However, the large part of them can be represented as zero. In this paper, the effective hardware structure is designed, which compresses PVS data as the way of zero run length encoding (ZRLE) during building the scene trees of 3D games in mobile environments. The compression ratio of the proposed structure and the rendering speed (frame per second: FPS) according to both PVS culling and frustum culling are analyzed under 3D game simulations.

  • In this study, the hardcore game user verified the manipulation delay that occurred during VR game play because of the experienced game. Based on the HCI - based research approach, we created a 2D, 3D, and VR prototype game with user manipulation cycle hypothesis. Based on this, 121 users were experimented with 2D, 3D, VR format user interface. The average user manipulation period extracted by the experiment was compared with the independent sample T test. Based on the test results give the average time difference between the user's operation of the 2D VR format has been verified. User operation period of the average time difference in 3D VR format proved the null hypothesis of no significant difference has been adopted.
