원격 다중 참여자 3차원 그래픽스 게임 개발 (Development of Multi User Games using 3D Graphics and Multicasting)

  • 본 논문에서는 원격 다중 참여자 3차원 그래픽스 게임 개발에 대하여 연구 하였다. 3차원 컴퓨터 그래픽스를 이용하여 표현된 가상의 공간에서, 컴퓨터 통신을 사용하여 원격지에 떨어져 있는 여러 사용자가 서로 상호작용 하면서, 여러 사용자가 서로 3차원 그래픽스로 표현된 물체를 공유할 수 있는 게임 시스템 구축의 연구에 목적을 두었다. 3차원 그래픽스 물체를 표현하기 위하여 OpenInventor와 C++를 사용하였다. 통신을 위하여 멀티캐스트 통신 프로토콜을 사용하였으며 입력 장치로서 3차원 위치 방향 인식/입력기인 Polhemus Fastrak을 사용하였다. 한가지 예로, 분산된 네트워크에서 여러 사용자가 함께 피아노를 연주하는 효과를 얻을 수 있는 게임을 구현하여 제시한다.

  • This paper proposes the framework of the scenario-based 3D image synthesizing system that allows common users who envision a scenario in their mind to realize it into the segments of cool animation. We focused on utilization of the existing motions to synthesize new motions for the objects. The framework is useful to build a 3D animation in game programming with a limited set of 3D objects. We also propose a practical algorithm to reuse and expand the objects. This algorithm is based on motion path modification rules. Both linear and nonlinear curve-fitting algorithms were applied to modify an animation by key frame interpolation and to make the motion appear realistic.

  • We need many assembly lines to produce industrial product such as automobiles that require a lot of composited parts. Big portion of such assembly line are still operated by manual works of human. Such manual works sometimes cause critical error that may produce artifacts. Also, once the assembly is completed, it is really hard to verify whether of not the product has some error. In this paper, for monitoring behaviors of manual human work in an assembly line automatically, we proposes a realtime hybrid monitoring system that combines 2D vision sensor tracking technique with 3D motion recognition sensors.

  • Recently, stereotactic radiosurgery plan is required with the information of 3-D image and dose distribution. A project has been doing if developing LINAC based stereotactic radiosurgery since April 1991. The purpose of this research is to develop 3-D radiosurgery planning system using personal computer. The procedure of this research is based on two steps. The first step is to develop 3-D localization system, which input the image information of the patient, coordinate transformation, the position and shape of target, and patient contour into computer system using CT image and stereotactic frame. The second step is to develop 3-D dose planning system, which compute dose distribution on image plane, display on high resolution monitor both isodose distribution and patient image simultaneously and develop menu-driven planning system. This prototype of radiosurgery planning system was applied recently for several clinical cases. It was shown that our planning system is fast, accurate and efficient while making it possible to handle various kinds of image modalities such as angiography, CT and MRI. It makes it possible to develop general 3-D planning system using beam's eye view or CT simulation in radiation therapy in future.

3D Content Design & Implementation of VR Horseback Riding Game

  • Various 3D contents are being developed using Unity 3D game engine. In this paper, the 3D content of horseback riding game, the first VR game in the country, is designed and developed. The existing riding simulator is investigated and compared to the VR riding game developed. We consider various games developed using Unity 3D game engine and serve previously developed tangible games. It is expected that development of VR riding games will prepare a new chapter in VR experience-type games. We propose the content development environment and scenario of VR riding game and present the main algorithms and main modules for real-time synchronization. The developed riding game contents are deployed to the riding system and are operated for commercial use in conjunction with the riding device. Through monitoring VR riding system, problems are derived and improvement measures are proposed. We offer a variety of additional development options to make the game more realistic in the future.

컴퓨터 시각과 레이저 구조광을 이용한 물체의 3차원 정보 추출 (Three Dimensional Geometric Feature Detection Using Computer Vision System and Laser Structured Light)

  • An algorithm to extract the 3-D geometric information of a static object was developed using a set of 2-D computer vision system and a laser structured lighting device. As a structured light pattern, multi-parallel lines were used in the study. The proposed algorithm was composed of three stages. The camera calibration, which determined a coordinate transformation between the image plane and the real 3-D world, was performed using known 6 pairs of points at the first stage. Then, utilizing the shifting phenomena of the projected laser beam on an object, the height of the object was computed at the second stage. Finally, using the height information of the 2-D image point, the corresponding 3-D information was computed using results of the camera calibration. For arbitrary geometric objects, the maximum error of the extracted 3-D feature using the proposed algorithm was less than 1~2mm. The results showed that the proposed algorithm was accurate for 3-D geometric feature detection of an object.

The 3 Dimensional Triangulation Scheme based on the Space Segmentation in WPAN

  • Most of ubiquitous computing devices such as stereo camera, ultrasonic sensor based MIT cricket system and other wireless sensor network devices are widely applied to the 2 Dimensional(2D) localization system in today. Because stereo camera cannot estimate the optimal location between moving node and beacon node in Wireless Personal Area Network(WPAN) under Non Line Of Sight(NLOS) environment, it is a great weakness point to the design of the 2D localization system in indoor environment. But the conventional 2D triangulation scheme that is adapted to the MIT cricket system cannot estimate the 3 Dimensional(3D) coordinate values for estimation of the optimal location of the moving node generally. Therefore, the 3D triangulation scheme based on the space segmentation in WPAN is suggested in this paper. The measuring data in the suggested scheme by computer simulation is compared with that of the geographic measuring data in the AutoCAD software system. The average error of coordinates values(x,y,z) of the moving node is calculated to 0.008m by the suggested scheme. From the results, it can be seen that the location correctness of the suggested scheme is very excellent for using the localization system in WPAN.

  • 기존의 의류 제작 공정에 있어 대량 생산에 들어가기 전, 제품의 원형을 제작하는 단계는 매우 빈번한 실패를 동반하는 과정이다. 원하는 디자인으로 완성된 제품을 얻기 위해 수많은 시행착오를 거치게 되며, 이 과정에서 원단, 자재, 인력이 지속적으로 투입되고 그 결과 비용, 혹은 일정 상의 손실을 초래하기도 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 의류 원형 제작 과정을 실제 옷을 만들어보는 것이 아닌, 컴퓨터의 3D 환경 안에서 가상의 옷을 만들고 시뮬레이션 하여 가상의 모델에 입혀보는 것으로 대체하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 과정에서 그간 컴퓨터 그래픽스 분야를 중심으로 발전해왔던 의류 시뮬레이션 기술을 적극 도입, 활용한다. 그리고 이러한 과정을 거쳐 만들어진 3D 의류가 실제 의류 원형과 어느 정도 일치하는지를 비교분석 함으로써 이 기술이 의류 생산 과정에 적용가능한지를 검증한다.

  • We are developing a teleconference system based on 3D medical image. The system consists in three sub-systems : conference operating system, medical image processing system and database management system. It makes it possible efficient computer-supported coorperative work among remote multi-located hospitals. In this paper, we present functions of each subsystem that have implemented until now.

  • Computer-aided technology는 최근 치과 치료의 흐름이다. DENTCA$^{TM}$ CAD/CAM denture (DENTCA Inc.)는 상용화된 computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) 의치 시스템 중 하나로, 한 번의 내원을 통해 의치 제작에 필요한 환자의 모든 정보를 획득하여, 이 정보를 컴퓨터에 저장하고 3D 프린팅을 통해 두 번째 내원 시에 의치 장착을 목표로 한다. 현재까지 여러 증례들은 총의치 제작에 대한 CAD/CAM system의 임상적 적용을 시험해 보았다. 본 증례는 두 명의 환자에서 DENTCA system을 이용한 의치와 전통적인 방법을 이용한 의치를 동시에 제작하여 DENTCA system의 효용성과 한계점을 고찰하였다.
