A Study on the educational method of the conceptual approach of 3D animation (3D Animation 교육에 대한 개념적 접근 방식에 대한 연구)

  • Nowdays many people using and learning 3D Software. However, like artists drawing by brush, that most of designers misunderstood that 3D Software is cover everything as a tool. This sort of situation, change of 3D Software will come to the front very seriously. It can be result about lack of understanding 3D in general and some kind of illusion about 3D Software. These were changing like training school that was teaching only function for technique. Therefore, to prevent above things, this research paper will be based on a conception, that compare with 3D which called cyber space and the real world. That is explanation of construction about 3D Software generally, that will basis how does people think about the world. It function of 3D Software will take concrete shape gradually, which is after general description and understanding and the users will be quick to understand, no need to difficult of access for beginners. In addition, higher education ay university is no longer training center. Lastly, it will be able to capability as an essentially figure. Nowdays many people using and learning 3D Software.   • In this paper, we implemented the voxel coloring method to reconstruct 3D object from synthetic input Images. Then compare the result between using standard voxel coloring and using coarse-to-fine method. We compared using different voxel space site to see the difference of time processing and the result of 3D object. Photorealistic 3D object reconstruction is a challenging problem in computer graphics. Vexel coloring considered the reconstruction problem as a color reconstruction problem, instead of shape reconstruction problem. This method works by discretizing scene space into yokels, then traversed and colored those in special order. Also there is an extension of voxel coloring method far decreasing the amount of processing time called coarse-to-fine method. This. method works using low resolution instead of high resolution as input and after processing finish, apply some kind of search strategy.

  • In recent years, space planning ability using 3D sketch software is required in the working field of interior design. However, vocational high school do not respond appropriately to changes in the industry, because the class of vocational high school consists of hands-on practical classes and 2D CAD based classes. There is a shortage of 3D sketch software-based instruction programs that can improve students' spatial planning skills. Therefore, this study is to develop instruction program using 3D sketch software for 'Planning for Residential Space' unit of NCS-based on interior design subject and to find out the effect on students' academic achievement by applying to vocational high school class. The 3d sketch software based instructional program developed in this study was developed through four stages of preparation, development, implementation and evaluation according to the PDIE model process. The experimental design model used nonequivalent group posttest-only design in this study. Experiments were conducted on vocational high school students in construction and 9 hours of interior design subjects were applied. After the experiments, students were tested for academic achievement in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor areas. As a result, the instruction program using the 3d sketch program developed in this study was found to be more effective in improving students' academic achievement than existing manual instruction program in both cognitive, affective, and psychomotor areas.

  • A 3D laser scanner is widely used in various fields such as games, movies, medicines, art, design, etc. Many studies for utilizing the 3D laser scanner in the fields of civil engineering have also been carried out, for example, for systematically managing tunnel and/or bridge construction. However, since a software which is directly applicable to Korean construction system does not exist, the amount of data obtained from existing the 3D laser scanner is too much to handle in a systematic way. Therefore, in this paper, a new data processing technique was established which can rapidly and effectively treat the 3D laser scanning data. Moreover, a software that can systematically manage the tunnel construction was developed. The developed software can assess the construction quality of tunnel excavation such as under-break, over-break, cracks, leakage and efflorescence, etc. A 3D laser scanner and the developed software was applied to an in-situ tunnelling site, and verified usefulness of the 3D laser scanner. The developed software may be useful for tunnel maintenance as well as for systematic management of tunnel construction.

  • The cooperation between universities and IT industry in producing IT manpower of quality is urgently called for to create the effective labor pool of supply and finally balance its supply and demand. Korean Government launched a program where industrial demand-driven curriculums are developed and applied to universities. This paper proposes a design technique of meta-modeling demand-driven curriculums and courses, based on the 3D software space and the software development process. This technique is proven to result in extensibility, flexibility and quality improvement in software design. Therefore, we expect that the proposed technique makes curriculums and courses possible to be continuously improved in many aspects.

  • We developed a modeling and visualization software that can analyze 3-dimensional spatial information in the ArcView environment. The software constructs and visualizes an object in 3 dimensional space from the input data given a number of horizontal cross-sections. The software can generate and visualize the cross-sections of the object in any azimuth and inclination. Utilizing the program users can modify the 3-D shape of the object by interactively editing the cross-sections.

  • We developed a modeling and visualization software that can analyze 3-dimensional seismic data. The software divides 3 dimensional space into a series of vertical and horizontal polygons, and allows the various seismic attributes and other spatial information to be stored on these polygons. The program can pick a particular pattern in semi-automatic mode, and store the pattern in the spatial DB. The pattern can be modeled and visualized in 3 dimensional space.

  • As part of the development of the 3-D geologic modeling software, this study addresses on new development of software modules that can perform the analysis and visualization of the fracture network system in 3-D. The developed software modules, such as BOUNDARY, DISK3D, FNTWK3D, CSECT and BDM, are coded on Microsoft Visual Studio platform using the MFC and OpenGL library supported by C++ program language. Each module plays a role in construction of analysis domain, visualization of fracture geometry in 3-D, calculation of equivalent pipes, production of cross-section map and management of borehole data, respectively. The developed software modules for analysis and visualization of the 3-D fracture network system can be used to tackle the geomechanical problems related to strength, deformability and hydraulic behaviors of the fractured rock masses. All these benefits will further enhance the economic competitiveness of the domestic software industry.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a campus facility management system, construct 3D graphic data and attribute data of facilities on the Kumoh National Institute of Technology and then verificate the developed system's practicability. Utilized the existing campus facility data from the existing drawings, images, cadastre records and so forth, 3D position data of underground facilities surveyed with a total station and high-resolution aerial photos, 3D realistic models were produced by means of a XD2D software and a XDWORLD Builder Professional software of GIS engines. We intend to embody not only campus guide service in virtual reality space but visualization of 3D virtual campus by providing 2D and 3D data to web space using XDWORLD server soon after. It is expected that the campus facility management system is able to contribute to the integrated management of 3D facility data service, the support of prompt decision-making related to spatial affairs, the work simplification through data holding in common between the members of the staff and so forth.

  • As the size and dimension of target problems in the field of computational engineering including CFD gets bigger and higher, it is needed to have more efficient and flexible data visualization environment in terms of software and hardware. Even though it is still manageable to use a mouse in controlling 3-dimensional data visualization, it would be beneficial to use 3-D input device for 3-D visualization. 'Data Glove' is one of the best 3-D input devices, because human hands are best tools understanding 3-D space. Signals coming from 'Data Glove' are analog and very sensitive to finger motions, so we decided to use a digital filter. This paper describes our experience and benefits of using data glove in controlling 3-Dimensional Postprocess Software.
