In this paper, Double rectangular patch with 4-bridges is investigated for solution of IEEE 802.11b/g(2.4GHz) and 802.11a(5.7GHz). Rectangular patch for 5.7GHz frequency band is printed on the PCB substrate and connected to another rectangular patch for 2.4GHz frequency band with 4-bridges to obtain dual band operation in a antenna element. The proposed antenna has a low profile and is fed by $50{\Omega}$ coaxial line. The dielectric constant of the designed antenna substrate is 3.27. Two rectangular patches have each resonance frequencies that are 2.4GHz and 5.7GHz. A dual-band characteristic is shown as connecting two rectangular patch using four bridges. Also, the proposed antenna is shown input return loss that is below -10dB at 2.4GHz and 5.7GHz of WLAN(Wireless LAN).
In this paper, we propose a method for construction of robust 3D statistical shape model in the mandible CT datasets. Our method consists of following four steps. First, we decompose a 3D input shape Into patches. Second, to generate a corresponding shape of a floating shape, all shapes in the training set are parameterized onto a disk similar to the patch topology. Third, we generate the corresponding shape by one-to-one mapping between the reference and the floating shapes. We solve the problem failed to generate the corresponding points near the patch boundary Finally, the corresponding shapes are aligned with the reference shape. Then statistical shape model is generated by principle component analysis. To evaluate the accuracy of our 3D statistical shape model of the mandible, we perform visual inspection and similarity measure using average distance difference between the floating and the corresponding shapes. In addition, we measure the compactness of statistical shape model using the modes of variation. Experimental results show that our 3D statistical shape model generated by the mandible CT datasets with various characteristics has a high similarity between the floating and corresponding shapes and is represented by the small number of modes.
As a primary study on the economic injury level of A. tokionis larval populations in tobacco fields, we carried out some experiments for the evaluation of sampling efficiency of 3 sampling methods (pit-fall traps of apple pomace and rice bran, and clover patches) for the larval population and the regressions between loss and infested larval density The $10\times10cm$ clover patch showed a better sampling efficiency $11.8\;to\;18.0\%$ than the others. The sampling efficiency of clover patch becomes higher when the plots did not have any green plants. The linear regression equation (Y=4.2+1.383x) between loss (Y:kg/10a) and infested larval density (X: no. of larvae/plot) which was obtained by substitution of damage ratio and corrected damage ratio fitted the observed data better than the one (Y=2.68X) obtained without substitioning.

Processing LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) data obtained from ALS (Airborne Laser Scanning) systems mainly involves organization and segmentation of the data for 3D object modeling and mapping purposes. The ALS systems are viable and becoming more mature technology in various applications. ALS technology requires complex integration of optics, opto-mechanics and electronics in the multi-sensor components, Le. data captured from GPS, INS and laser scanner. In this study, digital image processing techniques mainly were implemented to gray level coded image of the LiDAR data for building extraction and superstructures segmentation. One of the advantages to use gray level image is easy to apply various existing digital image processing algorithms. Gridding and quantization of the raw LiDAR data into limited gray level might introduce smoothing effect and loss of the detail information. However, smoothed surface data that are more suitable for surface patch segmentation and modeling could be obtained by the quantization of the height values. The building boundaries were precisely extracted by the robust edge detection operator and regularized with shape constraints. As for segmentation of the roof structures, basically region growing based and gap filling segmentation methods were implemented. The results present that various image processing methods are applicable to extract buildings and to segment surface patches of the superstructures on the roofs. Finally, conceptual methodology for extracting characteristic information to reconstruct roof shapes was proposed. Statistical and geometric properties were utilized to segment and model superstructures. The simulation results show that segmentation of the roof surface patches and modeling were possible with the proposed method.
As environmental regulations are strengthened, automobile manufacturers continuously research lightweight structures based on carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). However, it is difficult to see the effect of strength reinforcement when using a single CFRP material. To improve this, a hybrid laminate in which CFRP is mixed with the existing body structural steel was proposed. In this paper, CFRP patch reinforcement is applied to each compression/tensile action surface of a 22MnB5 metal sheet, and it was evaluated through a 3-point bending experiment. Progressive failure was observed in similar deflection on bending deformation to each one-sided reinforced specimen. After progressive failure, the tensile reinforced specimen was confirmed to separate the damaged CFRP patch and 22MnB5 sheet from the center of the flexure. The compression reinforced specimen didn't separate that CFRP patch and 22MnB5, and the strength reinforcement behavior was confirmed. In the compression reinforced specimen, damaged CFRP patches were observed at the center of flexure during bending deformation. As a result of checking the specimen of the compression reinforcement specimen with an optical microscope, It is confirmed that the damaged CFRP patch and the reinforced CFRP patch overlapped, resulting in a concentrated load. Through the experimental results, the 22MnB5 strength reinforcement characteristics according to the reinforcement position of the CFRP patch were confirmed.

In this paper, we propose a design of dual-band patch antennas for Global Positioning System(GPS) applications, and the designed antenna is used as an individual element of GPS arrays. A low distortion and a high isolation of the array are achieved by adjusting rotating angles of each array element. The antenna consists of two radiating patches that operate in the GPS $L_1$ and $L_2$ bands, and the two ports feeding network with a hybrid chip coupler is adopted to achieve a broad circular polarization(CP) bandwidth. The rotating angles of each antenna element are varied with four directions(${\phi}=0^{\circ}$, ${\phi}=90^{\circ}$, ${\phi}=180^{\circ}$, ${\phi}=270^{\circ}$) in order to minimize the pattern distortion and maximize the isolation among array elements. The measurement shows bore-sight gains of 0.3 dBic($L_1$) and -1.0 dBic($L_2$) for the center element. Bore-sight gains of 1.6 dBic($L_1$) and 1.0 dBic($L_2$) are observed for the edge element. This results demonstrate that the proposed antenna is suitable for GPS array applications.
This paper presents new hole-filling methods for generating multiview images by using depth image based rendering (DIBR). Holes appear in a depth image captured from 3D sensors and in the multiview images rendered by DIBR. The holes are often found around the background regions of the images because the background is prone to occlusions by the foreground objects. Background-oriented priority and gradient-oriented priority are also introduced to find the order of hole-filling after the DIBR process. In addition, to obtain a sample to fill the hole region, we propose the fusing of depth and color information to obtain a weighted sum of two patches for the depth (or rendered depth) images and a new distance measure to find the best-matched patch for the rendered color images. The conventional method produces jagged edges and a blurry phenomenon in the final results, whereas the proposed method can minimize them, which is quite important for high fidelity in stereo imaging. The experimental results show that, by reducing these errors, the proposed methods can significantly improve the hole-filling quality in the multiview images generated.

In this paper, we report the development of two DEM (digital elevation model) generation algorithms over urban areas from an IKONOS stereo pair. One ("EpiMatch") is originally developed for SPOT images and modified for IKONOS images. It uses epipolar geometry for accurate DEM generation. The other is based on graph-cut algorithm in 3D voxel space. This algorithm is believed to work better on height discontinuities than EpiMatch. An IKONOS image pair over Taejon city area was used for tests. Using ground control points obtained from differential GPS, camera model was set up and stereo matching applied. As a result, two DEMs over urban areas were produced. Within a DEM from EpiMatch small houses appear as small "cloudy" patches and large apartment and industrial buildings are visually identifiable. Within the DEM from graph-cut we could achieve better height information on building boundaries. The results show that both algorithms can generate DEMs from IKONOS images although more research is required on handling height discontinuities (for "EpiMatch") and on faster computation (for "Graph-cut").

In order primarily to establish the working stages in the reclamation works and to- analyze the working characteristics of man-power, the investigations for construction_ works were conducted on Echeon Largescale Reclamation Project Area. The results are summarized as follows; 1. The working chart on reclamation by man-power is Fig.IV-1. 2. The. ratio of actual working time to total varied with the total times, being 1.0 for less than 4 hours but about 0.9-0.83 for more than 5 hours. 3. Felling operations can be classified into three stages as truck-cutting, branch- cutting, and binding-up, of which results are in Table IV-2. The larger the diameter of stands, the more times for both the cutting operations are, but the moving time is constant to be about 15 sec. 4. Stumping and clearing works have the results prepared in Table IV-3. Between the stumping time and the diameter of stands d, there show highly significant positive correlations, expressed as t=2.212d -4.792. The more the ratio of small diameters to total, the more hastily the total hourly working results of each person are increased. 5. Working results for constructing drainage facilities and ridges are in Table IV-5. The labours for placing patches of grass are required more than twice or three times as much as those are showed in the established standards, and such the different results imply more investigation to be necessary. 6. Table IV-6 sholvs the results for plowing andh arrowing, that are less amount thant the standards. Therefore, more inverestigation should be prepared.
This paper is based on the triangular inset patch antenna as the basic structure, and the array structure is the twin tree form to improve the antenna's main lobe gain and reduce the side lobe gain. A twin tree structure was implemented by placing two identical trees of 2-4-6 arrays of triangular inset patches side by side. The parametric analysis confirmed that the gap between tree structures arranged side by side is most effective for impedance matching. The fabricated antenna has a gain of 16.74 dBi at 24.15 GHz, and the beam width of the main lobe is 22° in the E-plane and 6° in the H-plane. The antenna size was 125 mm × 50 mm, and a Taconic TLC substrate with a dielectric constant of 3.2 was used. Although the main lobe gain is improved over the twin tree structure, The directivity in the beam pattern due to the mutual interference of the two tree array structure can be improved.
