In this paper, we dealt with a partial discharge(PD) measurement method that has been accepted as an effective and non-destructive technique to estimate insulation performance of low-voltage electric and electronic devices. The PD measurement system Is composed of a coupling network, a low noise amplifier, and associated electronics. h shielded box Is adopted to make a better measurement environment against around noise. A low cut-off frequency of the coupling network estimated by a sinusoidal wave input was 125 kHz (-3 dB). Calibration tests on laboratory set-up have shown that the PD measurement system has a stable sensitivity of 10 mV/pC. In an application test oil a low-voltage three phase Induction motor (5 HP), we could detect 0.53 pC level of partial discharge at the applied voltage of AC 650 $V_{peak}$.

One of the most important performance criteria in tuning the gain of position loop controller for CNC machining center is the contour error. In this papre we analyze contour error in the linear and circular interpolations for the axis-matched and mismatched cases. To have small contour errors, it is necessary to set the P gain for each axis to be same. And the D gain should be much smaller than the P gain. Baded on the analysis in the frequency domain, we propose a gain tuning method for the P and PD controllers. We show that the PD controller is better than the P controller. The effectiveness of this method is demonstrated by experiments.

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3 kinase) and the mitogenactivating protein (MAP) kinase pathway on the differentiation of ovine preadipocytes. In order to investigate this issue, we monitored glycerol 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) activity during differentiation with specific inhibitors of PI3 kinase and MAP kinase-Erk kinase, LY294002 and PD098059, respectively. The preadipocytes, which were obtained from ovine subcutaneous adipose tissues, were proliferated to confluence and then differentiated to adipocytes in differentiation medium with each inhibitor for 10 days. The confluent preadipocytes and differentiated adipocytes at days 3, 7 and 10 were harvested for assay of GPDH activity. LY294002 inhibited the differentiation program in dose- and day-dependent manners during 10 days of differentiation. PD098059 did not affect GPDH activity during differentiation. Furthermore, the expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor ${\gamma}2$ (PPAR-${\gamma}2$), the representative early gene of differentiation, was markedly reduced by LY294002 treatment, although PD098059 did not change it. Our results demonstrated that the activation of PI3 kinase contributes to the differentiation process of ovine preadipocytes.

Purpose : Limited information is available on experiences of intravenous iron treatment in children. In this study, iron sucrose was administered intravenously to determine its effect, the factors predicting outcome, and safety in children on chronic dialysis. Methods : Twenty-one children whose serum ferritin levels were less than 100 ng/mL or transferrin saturations (TSAT) were less than 20% were enrolled. In 12 children on peritoneal dialysis (PD), the drug was infused intravenously as 200 mg/$m^2$ ($\leq$200 mg) at week 0, 2, 4, and 6. In 9 children on hemodialysis (HD), it was given intravenously as 8 weekly doses of 3 mg/kg ($\leq$100 mg) through week 0-7. Results : After treatment, serum ferritin levels increased significantly in both groups, and TSAT rose significantly in PD group. However, hemoglobin level did not rise significantly in both groups. Children with baseline hemoglobin less than 10 g/dL or baseline TSAT less than 20% showed significantly higher rise of hemoglobin after intravenous iron treatment. To the contrary, those with higher baseline hemoglobin and TSAT levels displayed higher rise in serum ferritin after the treatment. Although no serious adverse event occurred, TSAT levels exceeding 50% were noted in 6 patients in PD group. Conclusion : This suggests that 3 mg/kg/week of intravenous iron sucrose can be used safely in children on chronic HD, but 200 mg/$m^2$ every other week may incur excessive TSAT level in some patients on chronic PD.

Platycosides, Platycodi radix (Platycodon grandiflorus root) saponins, are used as food supplements and exert diverse pharmacological activities. Deglycosylation of saponins enhances their biological efficacy, and deglycosylated platycosides are produced mainly through enzymatic hydrolysis. However, the types of available deglycosylated platycosides remain limited because of a lack of hydrolyzing enzymes that can act on specific glycosides in glycosylated platycosides. In this study, a crude enzyme from Aspergillus tubingensis converted platycoside E (PE) and polygalacin D₃ (PGD3) into deglucose-apiose-xylosylated (deGAX)-platycodin D (PD) and deGAX-polygalacin D (PGD), respectively. The products were identified through LC/MS analysis by specifically hydrolyzing all glucose residues at C-3, and apiose and xylose residues at C-28 of platycoside. The hydrolytic activity of the crude enzyme obtained after the cultivation of the fungus using citrus pectin and corn steep solid as carbon and nitrogen sources, respectively, in culture medium was increased compared with those using other carbon and nitrogen sources. The crude enzyme from A. tubingensis was the most effective in producing deGAX platycoside at pH 5.0 and 60℃. The crude enzyme produced 0.32 mg/ml deGAX-PD and 0.34 mg/ml deGAX-PGD from 1 mg/ml PE and 1 mg/ml PGD3 (at pH 5.0 and 60℃) for 12 and 10 h, with productivities of 32.0 and 42.5 mg/l/h and molar yields of 62.1 and 59.6%, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to produce deGAX platycosides from glycosylated platycosides.

A master-slave system for tele-operation had been developed and tested for several decades. In this paper the master robot is composed of several wires and provides position information of the handle which is driven by a operator within the master robot work space. A PC is used for the command calculation for a slave robot. This paper deals with the relation between the number of strings and D.O.F of the master robot, control method of the slave robot during the operation and the monitoring method over the working area by the computer graphics simulation. The D.O.F of the master robot can be modified by adding or subtracting some strings. The controller of the slave robot uses the advanced PD control method to keep the performance against varying working load.

The optimal condition for the production of the artificial fruiting bodies of Paecilomyces japonica in bulk was determined from the observation of the conidial, hyphal, and cultural condition and the medium. The colony was grown 32 mm diameter in 14 days on potato dextrose agar(PDA). Conidia was irregularly long oval-shaped and measured 4.07${\times}$1.56 ${\mu}$m in average. The hyaline hyphae formed transparent bundles which branched out. The fruiting body on the insect surface was measured 30 to 50 mm in length and formed up to 55 branches. Potato dextrose(PD) both was the most effective for the growth of Paecilomyces japonica among the liquid type media. About 3.1 mg mrcelia in dry weight were produced in 50 ml/PD broth. The best condition for the production of conidia under which condition 4.3${\times}$10$^8$ conidia/ml were harvested was pH 5.0 in acidity and 20$^{\circ}C$ following preculture at 24$^{\circ}C$ in temperature for 7 days.

This study investigated on the conversion of nitrogen component in ammonia gas to control fuel-NOx. Control conditions were found to suppress the production of NOx in the catalytic combustion of the gasified fuels. Also, the results would provide the basis of the theoretical study on fuel-NOx generation mechanism.

Leucine rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) is a highly promising target for Parkinson's disease (PD) that affects millions of people worldwide. A three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QSAR) analysis was performed on a series of pyrrolopyrimidine-based selective LRRK2 kinase inhibitors. This study was performed to rationalize the structural requirements responsible for the inhibitory activity of these compounds. A reliable 3D-QSAR model was developed using comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) technique. The model produced statistically acceptable results with a cross-validated correlation coefficient ($q^2$) of 0.539 and a non-cross-validated correlation coefficient ($r^2$) of 0.871. Robustness of the model was further evaluated by bootstrapping and progressive scrambling analysis. This work could assist in designing more potent LRRK2 inhibitors.

To evaluate the relations between strokes and psychological characteristics, the authors surveyed Minnesota Multiphasic Personal Inventory(MMPI) in CVA Patients. The results are as follows.1. In the cerebral infarction patients group, the measure of F, Hy, Pd, Pt and Sc has appeared significantly high. 2. In the cerebral hemorrhage patients group, the measure of F and Ma has appeared significantly high. 3. In dysphasia-hemiparesis patients group, the measure of D has appeared high.4. In the Soyangin patients group, the measure of Pd and Ma has appeared high. 5. In the Soeumin patients group, the measure of D, Pt and Si has appeared high.
