3D Mesh Watermarking Using PEGI (PEGI를 이용한 3D 메쉬 워터마킹)

  • 본 논문에서는 패치별 EGI 분포를 이용한 3D 다각형 메쉬 모델 (polygonal mesh model) 워터마킹 알고리즘을 제안하였다 제안한 알고리즘에서는 기하학적 변형에 견고하기 위하여 3D 메쉬 모델을 6개 패치로 분할한다. 그리고 위상학적 변형에 견실한 특성을 가지는 EGI 분포를 각 패치별로 구한다. 그리고 동일한 워터마크 비트열을 각 패치의 EGI 분포 중에서 길이가 큰 면체에 투영된 메쉬 법선 벡터들에 각각 삽입한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 워터마킹 알고리즘의 성능 평가를 위한 모의 실험에서 워터마크가 삽입된 모델의 비가시성 및 다양한 공격에 대한 견고성이 우수함을 확인하였다.

Digital Watermarking for Three-Dimensional Polygonal Mesh Models in the DCT Framework (DCT영역에서 3차원 다각형 메쉬 모델의 디지헐 워터마킹 방법)

  • Most watermarking techniques insert watermarks into transform coefficients in the frequency domain because we can consider robust or imperceptible frequency bands against malicious attacks to remove them. However, parameterization of 3-D data is not easy because of irregular attribution of connectivity information, while 1-I) or 2-D data is regular. In this paper we propose a new watermarking scheme for 3-D polygonal mesh models in the DCT domain. After we generate triangle strips by traversing the 3-D model and transform its vertex coordinates into the DCT domain, watermark signals are inserted into mid-frequency bands of AC coefficients for robustness and imperceptibility. We demonstrate that our scheme is robust against additive random noise, the affine transformation, and geometry compression by the MPEG-4 SNHC standard.

  • For copyright protection of digital contents, we employ watermarking techniques to embed watermark signals into digital host data. In this paper we propose an adaptive watermarking algorithm for three-dimensional (3-D) mesh models. Watermark signals are inserted into vertex coordinates adaptively according to changes of their position values. While we embed strong watermarks in the areas of large variations, watermarks are weakly inserted in other areas. After we generate triangle strips by traversing the 3-D model and convert the Cartesian coordinates to the spherical coordinate system, we calculate variations of vertex positions along the traversed strips. Then, we insert watermark signals into the vertex coordinates adaptively according to the calculated variations. We demonstrate that imperceptibility of the inserted watermark is significantly improved and show the bit error rate (BER) for robustness.

  • In this paper, I propose a video watermaking method using adaptive threshold value and half-cell motion vector. Conventional method cause a lot of change of motion vectors and bring about a falling-off in invisibility, because it search embedding condition about whole macroblocks and watermarks are embedded in arbitrary motion vectors. Proposed method improve invisibility and decrease in number of change of motion vectors, because it create threshold value by using power of motion vector(PMV), and watermarks are embedded in motion vectors which greater than threshold value. Consequently, proposed method improve invisibility with on an average 5.4 dB ~9.3dB according to video bit-stream.

  • In this paper, semi-fragile watermarking algorithm was proposed for the application to RP(Rapid Prototyping) system. In the case of the perceptual change or distortion of the original one, the prototype product will be affected from the process because the RP system requires the high precision measure. Therefore, the geometrical transformations like translation, rotation and scaling, the mesh order change and the file format change are used in the RP system because they do not change the basic shapes of the 3D models, but, the decimation and the smoothing are not used because they change the models. The proposed algorithm which is called semi-fragile watermarking is robust against to these kinds of manipulations which preserve the original shapes because it considers the limitations of the RP system, but fragile against to the other manipulations which change the original shapes. This algorithm does not change the model shapes after embedding the watermark information, that is, there is no shape difference between the original model and the watermarked model. so, it will be useful to authenticate the data integrity and hide the information in the field of mechanical engineering which requires the high precision measure.

  • Information assurance(IA) refers to methodologies to protect engineering information by ensuring its availability, confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, authentication, access control, etc. In collaborative design, IA techniques are needed to protect intellectual property, establish security privileges and create "need to know" protections on critical features. Aside from 3D watermarking, research on how to provide IA to distributed collaborative engineering teams is largely non-existent. This paper provides a framework for information assurance within collaborative design, based on a technique we call role-based viewing. Such role-based viewing is achieved through integration of multi-resolution geometry and security models. 3D models are geometrically partitioned, and the partitioning is used to create multi-resolution mesh hierarchies. Extracting an appropriately simplified model suitable for access rights for individual designers within a collaborative design environment is driven by an elaborate access control mechanism.

  • 본 논문은 3차원 메쉬 모델의 정점간 거리 및 DCT를 이용한 3차원 메쉬 모델 워터마킹 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 3차원 메쉬 모델의 임의의 정점간 거리를 이용하여 워터마킹하게 되며 삽입 시 임의의 정점간 거리집합을 DCT 변환 하여 그 계수 값에 워터마크가 삽입된다. 그러므로 정점간의 거리를 DCT변환하여 삽입함으로써 비지각성 및 여러 공격에 강인하다. 또한 워터마크 크기만큼의 여러 거리집합을 생성하여 사용함으로 지역패치 및 지역분할 개념으로써 부분적인 공격에 강인하며 3차원 메쉬 모델의 페이스모양에 상관없이 워터마크를 삽입 할 수 있다.

An Improved Error Expansion Reversible Watermarking for 3D Mesh Model

  • In this paper, a new scheme to improve both the capacity and distortion performance for error-prediction method is proposed. For every triangle mesh, two vertices were selected to predict the rest vertex, and the prediction error distances which were vertical and paralleled to the edge between these two vertices would be used to embed two units of secret date amount. We sort the meshes before embedding according to predicted error in order to decrease the distortion. Experiment results show that our approach increase the capacity and decrease the distortion as compared to the original algorithm.

A Collusion-secure Fingerprinting Scheme for Three-dimensional Mesh Models (삼차원 메쉬 모델에 적용한 공모방지 핑거프린팅 기법)

  • This paper presents a new collusion-secure fingerprinting scheme to embed fingerprints into three-dimensional(3-D) mesh models efficiently. In the proposed scheme, we make the same number of fingerprints as the number of customers based on the finite projective geometry, partition a 3-D mesh model related to the number of bits assigned to each fingerprint and then embed a watermark representing copyright information into each submesh to be marked. Considering imperceptibility and robustness of the watermarking algorithm we embed the watermark signal into mid-frequency DCT coefficients obtained by transforming vertex coordinates in the triangle strips which are generated from the submeshes to be marked. Experimental results show that our scheme is robust to additive random noises, MPEG-4 SNHC 3-D mesh coding, geometrical transformations, and fingerprint attacks by two traitors' collusion. In addition, we can reduce the number of bits assigned to each fingerprint significantly.
