Analysis of the Increase of Matching Points for Accuracy Improvement in 3D Reconstruction Using Stereo CCTV Image Data

  • Recently, there has been growing interest in spatial data that combines information and communication technology with smart cities. The high-precision LiDAR (Light Dectection and Ranging) equipment is mainly used to collect three-dimensional spatial data, and the acquired data is also used to model geographic features and to manage plant construction and cultural heritages which require precision. The LiDAR equipment can collect precise data, but also has limitations because they are expensive and take long time to collect data. On the other hand, in the field of computer vision, research is being conducted on the methods of acquiring image data and performing 3D reconstruction based on image data without expensive equipment. Thus, precise 3D spatial data can be constructed efficiently by collecting and processing image data using CCTVs which are installed as infrastructure facilities in smart cities. However, this method can have an accuracy problem compared to the existing equipment. In this study, experiments were conducted and the results were analyzed to increase the number of extracted matching points by applying the feature-based method and the area-based method in order to improve the precision of 3D spatial data built with image data acquired from stereo CCTVs. For techniques to extract matching points, SIFT algorithm and PATCH algorithm were used. If precise 3D reconstruction is possible using the image data from stereo CCTVs, it will be possible to collect 3D spatial data with low-cost equipment and to collect and build data in real time because image data can be easily acquired through the Web from smart-phones and drones.

2D 이미지에서 3D 모델링 데이터 변환 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (Study on the 3D Modeling Data Conversion Algorithm from 2D Images)

  • In this paper, the algorithm which can convert a 2D image into a 3D Model will be discussed. The 2D picture drawn by a user is scanned for image processing. The Canny algorithm is employed to find the contour. The waterfront algorithm is proposed to find foreground image area. The foreground area is segmented to decompose the complex shapes into simple shapes. Then, simple segmented foreground image is converted into 3D model to become a complex 3D model. The 3D conversion formular used in this paper is also discussed. The generated 3D model data will be useful for 3D animation and other 3D contents creation.

  • In this paper, the multi-channel high speed data acquisition system is implemented. This high speed signal processing system for 3-D image display is applicable to the manipulation of a medical image processing, multimedia data and various fields of digital image processing. In order to convert the analog signal into digital one, A/D conversion circuit is designed. PCI interface method is designed and implemented, which is capable of transmission a large amount of data to computer. In order to, especially, channel extendibility of images acquisition, bus communication method is selected. By using this bus method, we can interface each module effectively. In this paper, 32-channel A/D conversion and PCI interface system for 3-dimensional and real-time display of the retina image is developed. The 32-channel image acquisition system and high speed data transmission system developed in this paper is applicable to not only medical image processing as 3-D representation of retina image but also various fields of industrial image processing in which the multi-point realtime image acquisition system is needed.

GIS 공간분석을 위한 3D 영상모형의 구축과 활용 (Construction and Application of 3D Image Model for GIS Spatial Analysis)

  • 현재, 3D 영상모형을 구축하기 위하여 위성영상, 항공영상 및 항공레이저 측량데이터가 주로 이용되고 있으나, 상기 데이터만을 이용하여 구축된 모형은 지형과 지물을 세밀하고 사실감 있게 표현하는데 제한적이기 때문에 고품질의 영상모형 구축이 필요한 실정이다. 3D 영상모형 구축시 3D 모형을 제작하고, 지상사진으로부터 텍스쳐를 제작하여 3D 모형에 사실감을 부여한다. 본 연구에서는 지형과 인공 시설물을 대상으로 사진측량 및 레이저측량 데이터를 이용하여 공간정확도, 세밀묘사 및 현실감이 강조된 실세계에 근접한 3D 영상모형을 구축하기 위한 기법을 분석하였다. 연구결과 위치정확도와 함께 사진과 같은 사실감을 확보한 3D 영상모형을 구축하였고 인터넷 3D 영상지도 서비스를 통하여 제공 할 수 있도록 하였다. 3D 영상모형을 이용하여 일조권분석, 경관분석, 시설물관리 등 다양한 분야에 활용할 수 있었다.

초고속 정보통신망을 통한 3차원 영상 정보의 가상현실 관리에 관한 연구 (A Study on Virtual Reality Management of 3D Image Information using High-Speed Information Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 각종 단층 촬영 의료영상 장비로 촬영한 2차원 단면화상 데이터들을 차원 재구성 알고리즘을 사용하여 3차원 영상으로 재구성한 다음, 웹 서버의 데이터베이스에 저장하고 관리하며, 인터넷 가상현실 표준언어인 VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language)로 표현된 3차원 의료영상을 비롯한 각종 의료영상 정보를 웹브라우저를 사용하여 검색해 볼 수 있는 의료영상정보시스템(Medical Image Information System)에 관하여 기술한다. 본 연구를 통하여 개발한 의료영상정보시스템에서는 단층 촬영된 2차원 단면화상을 처리한 다음, 3차원 의료 영상을 생성하기 위하여 표면기반 랜더링 방법(Surface-based Rendering Method)을 사용하였다. 인터넷을 통하여 전송되는 영상파일의 크기를 줄이기 위하여 삼각형 매쉬(Triangle Meshes)을 이루는 다각형의 개수를 줄이는 알고리즘을 사용하며, 3차원 의료영상 데이터의 크기를 약 50%이상 줄일 수 있다. 아울러, 3차원 영상 데이터 파일을 압축을 하게 되면 파일의 크기를 80%이상 줄일 수 가 있으므로 웹상에서 신속하게 3차원 의료영상 데이터를 검색할 수 있고, 의료영상을 VRML을 사용하여 표현하므로 고성능의 그래픽 카드가 없는 일반 PC에서도 인터넷을 통하여 디스플레이 할 수 있다. 또한, CGI(Common Gateway Interface)방식을 사용하여 서버의 데이터베이스에 저장되어 있는 CT(Computerized Tomography), MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging), PET(Positron Emission Tomography), SPECT(Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography)등의 단층 촬영 장비로 촬영한 다양한 종류의 디지털 의료영상을 사용자에게 의료영상정보시스템을 통하여 2차원 단면화상 또는 3차원 영상으로 표현하여 보여주고, 환자에 관한 각종 정보와 진단정보 등을 신속하게 제공한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 의료영상정보시스템은 초고속 정보통신 망을 통하여 원격의료시스템을 구축하는데 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

선형 레이저 광 영상기반 다면 3 차원 스캐너 (Multi-facet 3D Scanner Based on Stripe Laser Light Image)

  • In light of recently developed 3D printers for rapid prototyping, there is increasing attention on the 3D scanner as a 3D data acquisition system for an existing object. This paper presents a prototypical 3D scanner based on a striped laser light image. In order to solve the problem of shadowy areas, the proposed 3D scanner has two cameras with one laser light source. By using a horizontal rotation table and a rotational arm rotating about the latitudinal axis, the scanner is able to scan in all directions. To remove an additional optical filter for laser light pixel extraction of an image, we have adopted a differential image method with laser light modulation. Experimental results show that the scanner's 3D data acquisition performance exhibited less than 0.2 mm of measurement error. Therefore, this scanner has proven that it is possible to reconstruct an object's 3D surface from point cloud data using a 3D scanner, enabling reproduction of the object using a commercially available 3D printer.

GPU 가속화를 통한 이미지 특징점 기반 RGB-D 3차원 SLAM (Image Feature-Based Real-Time RGB-D 3D SLAM with GPU Acceleration)

  • This paper proposes an image feature-based real-time RGB-D (Red-Green-Blue Depth) 3D SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) system. RGB-D data from Kinect style sensors contain a 2D image and per-pixel depth information. 6-DOF (Degree-of-Freedom) visual odometry is obtained through the 3D-RANSAC (RANdom SAmple Consensus) algorithm with 2D image features and depth data. For speed up extraction of features, parallel computation is performed with GPU acceleration. After a feature manager detects a loop closure, a graph-based SLAM algorithm optimizes trajectory of the sensor and builds a 3D point cloud based map.

  • In this paper, We present a 3D image data for ocular refina. This 3D display techniques are used voxel(cuboid) projection. Voxel is 3D reconstruction method of the pixel. In this paper, 3D image display system is constructed under PC environment and programed based on modular programming by using Visual C++. The hole procedures are composed of data preparation, 3D Display over transformation and scaling.

Transformations and Their Analysis from a RGBD Image to Elemental Image Array for 3D Integral Imaging and Coding

  • This paper describes transformations between elemental image arrays and a RGBD image for three-dimensional integral imaging and transmitting systems. Two transformations are introduced and analyzed in the proposed method. Normally, a RGBD image is utilized in efficient 3D data transmission although 3D imaging and display is restricted. Thus, a pixel-to-pixel mapping is required to obtain an elemental image array from a RGBD image. However, transformations and their analysis have little attention in computational integral imaging and transmission. Thus, in this paper, we introduce two different mapping methods that are called as the forward and backward mapping methods. Also, two mappings are analyzed and compared in terms of complexity and visual quality. In addition, a special condition, named as the hole-free condition in this paper, is proposed to understand the methods analytically. To verify our analysis, we carry out experiments for test images and the results indicate that the proposed methods and their analysis work in terms of the computational cost and visual quality.

  • Any given object on the motor-driven turntable is pictured from 8 to 72 different views with a digital camera. 3D shape reconstruction is performed with the integrated software called by Scanware from these multiple digital photographs. There are several steps such as configuration, calibration, capturing, segmentation, shape creation, texturing and merging process during the shape reconstruction process. 3D geometry data can be exported to cad data such as Autocad input file. Also 3D image model is generated from 3D geometry and texture data, and is used to advertise the model in the internet environment. Consumers can see the object realistically from wanted views by rotating or zooming in the internet browsers with Scanbull spx plug-in. The spx format allows a compact saving of 3D objects to handle or download. There are many types of scan equipments such as laser scanners and photogrammetric scanners. Line or point scan methods by laser can generate precise 3D geometry but cannot obtain color textures in general. Reversely, 3D image modeling with photogrammetry can generate not only geometries but also textures from associated polygons. We got various 3D image models and introduced the process of getting 3D image model of an internet-connected watchdog robot.
