직분식 디젤엔진에서 CAVITY 형상에 따른 Soot의 농도와 운전조건과의 관계 연구 (The Relationship between Soot Concentration and Operating Condition regarding Cavity Shapes in a D. I. Diesel Engine)

  • The local instantaneous flame temperature and soot concentration in a D. I. diesel engine were measured using a two-color method. The proposed method based on the continuous spectra! radiation from the soot particles in the flame is applicable to industrial Diesel engines without major modifications of their main characteristics because of simplicity and relative ease of application. Measurements were performed at two locations inside the combustion chamber of a D. I. diesel engine. Effects of different engine speeds and loads, fuel injection timings, combustion chamber shapes on flame temperature and KL factor, which is qualitatively proportional to soot concentrations, were examined. Flame temperature change were observed with increasing engine speed and load. The higher the flame temperature is, the lower the KL factor is.

A Equivalent Finite Element Model of Lamination for Design of Electromagnetic Engine Valve Actuator

  • The electromagnetic engine valve actuator is a key technology to achieve variable valve timing in internal combustion engine and the steel core and clapper of the electromagnetic engine valve actuator are laminated to reduce the eddy current loss. To design and characterize the performance of the electromagnetic engine valve actuator, FE (finite element) analysis is the most effective way, but FE (finite element) 3-D modeling of real lamination needs very fine meshes resulting in countless meshes for modeling and numerous computations. In this paper, the equivalent FE 2-D model of electromagnetic engine valve actuator is introduced and FE analysis is performed using the equivalent FE 2-D model.

디젤 매연 필터에서 퇴적되는 입자상 물질의 퇴적량 예측 (Prediction of Particulate Matter Being Accumulated in a Diesel Particulate Filter)

  • Diesel particulate filter (DPF) has been developed to optimize engine out emission, especially particulate matter (PM). One of the main important factors for developing the DPF is estimation of soot mass being accumulated inside the DPF. Evaluation of pressure drop over the DPF is a simple way to estimate the accumulated soot mass but its accuracy is known to be limited to certain vehicle operating conditions. The method to compensate drawback is adoption of integrating time history of the engine out PM and burning soot. Present study demonstrates current status of the soot estimation methods including the results from the engine test benches and vehicles.

초소형 가스터빈 엔진용 금속 3D 프린팅 연소기 성능 시험 (Performance Test of Metal 3D Printed Micro Gas Turbine Engine Combustor)

  • 본 연구에서는 소형 무인기에 사용되는 초소형 가스터빈 엔진의 연소기를 3D 프린팅으로 제작하고, 시험 설비와 리그를 제작하여 연소기 단품 성능시험을 수행하였다. 연소기 성능시험은 두 가지 부하조건에서 당량비를 조절하여 각 부하조건 별 4가지 시험조건에서 수행하였다. 성능시험 결과 연소기의 압력손실과 출구온도분포는 우수하였지만, 연소가스에서 다량의 UHC와 CO가 검출되어 연소효율은 일반적인 가스터빈 연소기에 비해 아주 낮음을 확인하였다. 성능시험을 통해 획득한 정량적 성능데이터는 향후 3D 프린팅 기술로 성능이 개선된 연소기의 설계와 제작에 활용 할 예정이다.

  • 본 연구는 3D온라인 게임 엔진 요소 기술에 대한 3차년도 연구결과 본 연구는 한국과학재단 목적기초연구(과제명: 3D 온라인 게임엔진 요소기술 연구, 과제번호: R05-2000- 000-00288-0) 연구비에 의해 연구되었음 로서 동 연구과제의 2차년도에 개발 했던 3D 엔진과 서버 엔진을 보완하였으며 엔진을 이용한 데모게임을 완성하였고 객관적인 평가와 분석을 위해 엔진소스를 공개하여 외부의 검토를 받고 있다. 또한 본 엔진을 이용하여 실제 3D온라인게임을 개발 할 수 있는 게임 개발 방법론을 정리하였고 엔진의 효용성에 대해 다각도로 연구 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 개발된 엔진의 특성과 성능을 소개하고 개발 방법론에 대해 고찰한다.

  • 조립공정의 상세한 과정을 보여주기 위해 Script 언어를 사용하여 자동차 조립공정을 3D로 시뮬레이션 하였다. 3D 가시화 기술은 산업현장에서의 학습활동을 가시화하는데 최적의 방법이 될 수 있다. 특히 시뮬레이션은 자동차 관련하여 엔진 부분과 타이어부분에 대하여 조립과정을 3D로 자동화하여 보여줄 수 있도록 구현하였다. 특히 터치스크린을 바탕으로 하여 사용자가 실제로 작업도중에 학습할 수 있도록 실험하였다.

  • In this study, the objective is determine the optimal design variable of engine mount system using the rubber mount of bush-type which is usually utilized in passive control to minimize vibrations of vehicle body or transmission from engine into body. The engine model adopted in this study is 4-cylinder, 4-stroke gasoline engine support- ed by 4-points. The system is modelled in 10 d.o.f.-rigid body motion of the engine & transmission in 6 d.o.f., elastic motion of vehicle body in 4 d.o.f.(1st torsional, 1st vertical and 1st & 2nd lateral bending vibration mode). To consider the elastic motion of vehicle body, find the eigenvalues and mode shapes of vehicle body by nodal testing and then determine the modal masses and stiffnesses of the body. The design variables of the engine mount system are locations, stiffness and damping coefficients of the rubber mounts(28 design variables). In case of considering the torque-roll axis for the engine, the design variables of the mount system are reduced to 22 design variables. The objective functions in optimal design process are considered by three cases, that is, 1) transmitted forces through engine mounts, 2) acceleration components of generalized coordinates for the vibration of vehicle body, 3) acceleration of specified location(where gear box) of body. three case are analyzed and compared with each other.

8홀 노즐을 적용한 2리터 급 디젤 엔진 연소 최적화 (Combustion Optimization of Diesel 2.0 Liter Class Engine with 8-hole Injector Nozzle)

  • Atomization speed of diesel fuel injected from 8-hole nozzle is faster than that of 7-hole nozzle because the hole diameter of 8-hole nozzle is smaller than that of 7-hole nozzle. But both insufficient distance between the fuel sprays and short penetration of injected sprays through 8-hole nozzle hole cause many harmful effects on combustion. In this study, we installed the 8-hole injectors to diesel 2.0 liter class engine, and optimized in-cylinder swirl and penetration via selecting and matching proper cylinder head and combustion bowl. Through this process, we found out the performance and emission potential of 8-hole nozzle installed engine are better than those of 7-hole nozzle installed one.

  • The geometry stage, which performs the transformation and lighting operations of vertices, became the critical part in 3D graphics pipeline. In this paper, we have planned and designed the Geometry Processor for the better and more efficient way to process the real-time 3D using the floating point unit. We also designed a verification system for Geometry engine. It is implemented with Xilinx-Virtex2 and Visual C++.NET. In the Synopsis, we confirmed 100 MHz performance and 137107 cell area of Geometry Engine.

  • Recent performance improvement in computer and graphics hardware makes it possible to simulate a physical phenomenon in real time. VR department at ETRI has implemented a fast and robust physically based motion engine (PBM) for their general-purpose 3D online game engine. 'Dream 3D'. This paper shows the underlying algorithms of the PBM and introduces the structure and implementation results of it briefly.
