기계적 합금화 공정에 의한 Hf계 비정질 분말의 미세변형거동 관찰 (Micro-deformation behavior of Brittle Hf-based Metallic Glass during Mechanical Milling)

  • In this study, we investigate the deformation behavior of $Hf_{44.5}Cu_{27}Ni_{13.5}Nb_5Al_{10}$ metallic glass powder under repeated compressive strain during mechanical milling. High-density (11.0 g/cc) Hf-based metallic glass powders are prepared using a gas atomization process. The relationship between the mechanical alloying time and microstructural change under phase transformation is evaluated for crystallization of the amorphous phase. Planetary mechanical milling is performed for 0, 40, or 90 h at 100 rpm. The amorphous structure of the Hf-based metallic glass powders during mechanical milling is analyzed using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Microstructural analysis of the Hf-based metallic glass powder deformed using mechanical milling reveals a layered structure with vein patterns at the fracture surface, which is observed in the fracture of bulk metallic glasses. We also study the crystallization behavior and the phase and microstructure transformations under isothermal heat treatment of the Hf-based metallic glass.

Buckling analysis of FG plates via 2D and quasi-3D refined shear deformation theories

  • In this work, a novel combined logarithmic, secant and tangential 2D and quasi-3D refined higher order shear deformation theory is proposed to examine the buckling analysis of simply supported uniform functionally graded plates under uniaxial and biaxial loading. The proposed formulations contain a reduced number of variables compared to others similar solutions. The combined function employed in this study ensures automatically the zero-transverse shear stresses at the free surfaces of the structure. Various models of the material distributions are considered (linear, quadratic, cubic inverse quadratic and power-law). The differentials stability equations are derived via virtual work principle with including the stretching effect. The Navier's approach is applied to solve the governing equations which satisfying the boundary conditions. Several comparative and parametric studies are performed to illustrates the validity and efficacity of the proposed model and the various factors influencing the critical buckling load of thick FG plate.

바인더 Stiffness와 혼합물의 변형강도 및 동적크리프 특성과의 상관성 분석을 통한 김테스트 적용성 고찰 (Correlation Analysis of Binder Stiffness with Deformation Strength and Dynamic Creep Property of Asphalt Mixtures for Evaluation of Kim Test Applicability)

  • 아스팔트 바인더 Stiffness와 혼합물의 변형강도 및 동적크리프 특성과의 상관성 분석을 토대로 혼합물의 소성변형 저항성 (내변형성) 추정을 위한 Kim test의 적용성을 고찰하였다. 본 연구는 골재 2종류, AC 60-80 및 이를 개질한 총 8종류의 바인더로 총 16가지 혼합물을 제조하였다. DSR로 각 바인더의 $G^*/sine\delta$를 측정하였으며 Kim test의 변형강도와 동적크리프 시험의 최종변위(FD)와 동적안정도(DS)를 각 혼합물로부터 측정하였다. 바인더의 $G^*/sine\delta$와 소성변형 관련 3가지 특성($S_D$. FD, DS)과의 상관성 분석 결과 $G^*/sine\delta$$S_D$와 상관성이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다 $(R^2=0.88)$ 이는 혼합물에 내재해 있는 내변형성의 차이를 Kim test가 더 잘 구분해 낼 수 있음을 의미한다. 또한 DS와 $S_D$의 회귀분석 결과, $R^2$이 약 0.84 이상을 보여 변형강도는 동적크리프 시험의 동적안정도와 좋은 상관성을 가짐을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 아스팔트 혼합물의 내변형성 평가시 Kim test의 활용 가능성이 매우 높음을 확인하였다.

이미지 변형 기법을 이용한 가상 드레스업 시스템 (Virtual DressUp system by using image deformation method)

  • 본 논문에서는 사용자가 입력한 사람의 신체 모델과 모델에 입혀질 옷의 두 이미지를 입력으로 하여 2D상에서 옷과 모델이 잘 어울리게 입혀지는 가상의 드레스 업(Dress up)시스템을 제안한다. 첫 번째 단계에서는 골격 구조의 조인트 정보를 이용하여 옷 이미지를 크게 변형시킨다. 다음으로 옷의 경계에 있는 점들을 샘플링 하여 모델의 경계에 있는 점과 매칭 시키고 그 점들을 이용해 최적화 단계를 거쳐 최종적인 피팅 결과를 도출해 낸다. 두 단계를 거쳐 피팅 된 옷의 경우 평면적으로 보이기 때문에 부자연스러운 결과를 보이게 되므로 자연스러운 렌더링 결과를 위해서 이를 3D로 재구성 (reconstruction)시킨다. 재구성된 3D구조로부터 쉐이딩 정보를 가져와 다시 2D상에서 렌더링을 함으로써 최종적인 결과를 도출하게 된다. 본 연구에서 제안된 시스템을 통해 2D 기반의 가상 옷 시뮬레이션 결과를 얻을 수 있게된다.

Unscented Kalman Snake for 3D Vessel Tracking

  • Purpose In this paper, we propose a robust 3D vessel tracking algorithm by utilizing an active contour model and unscented Kalman filter which are the two representative algorithms on segmentation and tracking. Materials and Methods The proposed algorithm firstly accepts user input to produce an initial estimate of vessel boundary segmentation. On each Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) slice, the active contour is applied to segment the vessel boundary. After that, the estimation process of the unscented Kalman filter is applied to track the vessel boundary of the current slice to estimate the inter-slice vessel position translation and shape deformation. Finally both active contour and unscented Kalman filter are inter-operated for vessel segmentation of the next slice. Results The arbitrarily shaped blood vessel boundary on each slice is segmented by using the active contour model, and the Kalman filter is employed to track the translation and shape deformation between CTA slices. The proposed algorithm is applied to the 3D visualization of chest CTA images using graphics hardware. Conclusion Through this algorithm, more opportunities, giving quick and brief diagnosis, could be provided for the radiologist before detailed diagnosis using 2D CTA slices, Also, for the surgeon, the algorithm could be used for surgical planning, simulation, navigation and rehearsal, and is expected to be applied to highly valuable applications for more accurate 3D vessel tracking and rendering.

디스크 브레이크에서 마찰열과 패드에 작용하는 융합 접촉거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Convergence Contact Behavior of Friction Heat and Pad on Disk Brake)

  • 자동차 디스크 브레이크시스템에서는 열유속 및 열변형 등과 같은 이유로 마찰열이 균일하게 분산되지 않는다. 마찰열에 의한 열탄성 변형이 접촉압력 분포에 영향을 미치게 되고, 접촉하중이 디스크 브레이크 표면상의 작은 영역에 집중되어 열탄성 불안정성을 초래 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 실험적 계산식과 Kao 제안한 디스크와 패드의 접촉압력에 대한 해석방법을 참고로 하여 3차원 축대칭 모델을 통하여 실제로 제동 시 발생되는 디스크와 패드의 접촉을 고려한 온도해석 및 열변형 해석을 하였다. ANSYS를 사용하여 디스크와 패드의 접촉면에서 발생하는 열탄성 불안전성 문제를 열하중과 기계적 하중으로 동시에 고려하여 해석하였다. 디스크와 패드가 직접 접촉하는 3차원 축대칭 모델을 구성하여 디스크의 마찰면 온도, 열변형, 접촉 열응력을 관찰함으로써 디스크에서 일어나는 열적 거동을 보다 정확하게 관찰하였다.

단일 숏 충돌에서의 잔류응력 유일해를 위한 2차원 유한요소해석 모델 (A 2D FE Model for a Unique Residual Stress in Single Shot Impact)

  • In this paper, we propose a 2D-FE model in single impact with combined physical factors to obtain a unique residual stress by shot peening. Applied physical parameters include elastic-plastic deformation of shot ball, material damping coefficients, strain rate, dynamic friction coefficients. Single impact FE model consists of 2D axisymmetric elements. The FE model with combined factors showed converged and unique distributions of surface stress, maximum compressive residual stress and deformation depth. Further, in contrast to the FE models with rigid shot and elastic deformable shot, FE model with plastic deformable shot produces residual stresses very close to experimental solutions by X-ray diffraction. We therefore validated the 2D FE model with combined peeing factors and plastic deformable shot. This FE model will be a base of the 3D FE model for residual stresses by multi-impact shot peening.

자동차 스티어링 휠에 조립되는 플라스틱 베젤의 변형 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Deformation Optimization of a Plastic Bezel Assembled on the Steering Wheel of an Automobiles)

  • In this study, plastics were deformed after molding due to the characteristics of the material. The Taguchi experimental design method was utilized to find the molding conditions that minimized deformation of the plastic bezel to be assembled in an automotive steering wheel. The injection molding conditions applied to the experimental design method are the melt temperature, cavity plate coolant temperature, core plate coolant temperature, and cooling time. Each condition was divided into five levels, and a total of 25 experiments were planned. However, instead of performing 25 actual molding experiments, the injection molding analysis was performed using the Moldflow program, and the deformation values for each molding analysis were obtained. The optimal molding conditions were obtained from these deformation values. The actual injection molding experiment using optimal molding conditions was compared with the deformation amount of the current molded product. The deformation was measured using a precise 3D scanner. The deformation amount of the molded product under optimal molding conditions was 16.1% lower than the deformation amount of the current molded product.

  • Caliber design in bar and rod rolling depends on the designer's experience, which in general is acquired through costly trial-and-error process. As a prerequisite for developing a scientific approach to caliber design, we present a finite element model to simulate 3-D deformation of bars and rods occurring in multi-pass sequence. The results are compared with measurements obtained from POSCO for to assess the solution accuracy. The comparison shows that the simulation results agree well experiments.

촉각시스템을 위한 그래픽 변형 알고리즘 (Graphic Deformation Algorithm for Haptic Interface System)

  • In this paper, we propose a new graphic deformation algorithm for haptic interface system. Our deformable model is based on non-linear elasticity, anisotropy behavior and the finite element method. Also we developed controller for high-speed communication. The proposed controller is based on the PCI/FPGA technology, which could progress the capability of the position calculating and the force data transmitting. The haptic system is composed of the 6DOF force display device, the high-speed controller, HIR library for 3D graphic deformation algorithm and the haptic rendering algorithm. The developed system will be used on constructing the dynamical virtual environment. We demonstrate the relevance of this approach for the real-time simulating deformations of elastic objects. To show the efficiency of our system, we programmed the simulation of force reflecting. As the result of experiment, we found that it has high stability and easy to control for deformable object than some other systems.
