  • 본고에서는 현재 입체영상분야에서 많은 관심이 있는 2D/3D 입체변환 기술에 대해 설명한다. 2D/3D 입체변환 기술은 지난 20년간 꾸준히 연구와 개발이 진행되어온 분야로 상업적 가치가 매우 높은 기술이다. 본고에서는 입체변환의 기본 개념, 입체영상의 원리, 및 기존의 변환기법들을 소개하고, 현재까지의 기술적 방향과 해결해야 할 문제점을 소개한다.

A Study on depth analysis for S3D animation (S3D 애니메이션 제작을 위한 입체 값 분석 기술)

  • In this paper, we propose the method for creating a stable stereoscopic 3D contents with the production guidelines by removing the excessive depth value and scene changes for high quality. We have developed a three-dimensional depth analysis tool for detecting the scene changes out of the production guidelines and the depth value changes excessively. The Scenes detected by depth analysis tool can be modified at the post production and it helps to make a stable stereoscopic 3D contents.

  • These days, as digital producing technique has been developed, 3D imaging technique is used in high-tech computer and T.V. Also study for 3D producing technique is actively in progress. Moreover, as James Cameron's movie, 'Avatar' released in 2009 was a box office hit, the issue about 3D image came to the fore again. At this point, I decided to study the effect of the visual depth caused by the color correction during the post-production stage. The purpose of this study is to offer information about processing effective images through data about the effect of the visual depth that applies the color correction during the post-production stage. Basically, I supposed that color and contract would have effects on depth of 3D image. As a result, I could find out the changes of visual depth, space perception and sense of depth throughout the experiment. Applying this result,, I produced the 15 minutes of 3D advertisement movie and I found out that the color correction during the post-production stage was very effective for 3D depth. The left image and the right image by beam splitter based rig and parallel rig were used for this study. Also I adjusted the strong contrast by the color correction during the post-production stage after correcting convergence and visual depth during editing. As a result, I could produce images which had strong sense of space and sense of depth.

Visual Discomfort Analysis of Binocular Depth Change on 3D Stereoscopic Imaging (입체영상의 양안 깊이 변화에 따른 시청 피로도 분석)

  • The development of stereoscopic display hardwares and 3D authoring softwares expands its application areas from particular virtual simulation applications to general movies, games, advertising applications. However, the binocular-based 3D stereoscopic images cause fatigue to viewers. Recent performed many research results about the binocular stereoscopy's depth perception and viewers' fatigue are derived from experimental users studies. In some results, watching and making guidelines for 3D stereoscopic imaging contents are introduced. The 3D stereoscopic-related contents have the contradictory aspects, which are audiences' pursuit of a tolerable minimum fatigue and producer's its of excessive depth changes for providing viewers' immersion. This paper provides user experiments and analysis data in aspects of 3D depth changes. For use of producers, a safety zone and translational velocity of 3D depth changes are introduced. Also, on the viewer side, we present the depth change adaptation time by using an EEG device.

  • Depth understanding is important for stereoscopic and various methods including space design and cognitive science should be taken account in contents production. Among them, human scientific engineering such as human factor needs to be touched. More specifically, when the stereoscopic designer determines a binocular disparity, the viewpoint of the camera has to be matched with that of the audience. In this process, the structural problem by the distortion due to the dichoptic error is happened, Therefore, 3D sweetening process based on geometric re-analysis and human scientific engineering to minimize the visual fatigue is significant. This paper analyzes the inconsistency problems of the viewpoint in stereoscopic images, and we produce the stereoscopic image contents based on human factors.

  • In this paper, the research problem (1) 2D to 3D stereoscopic images to create the work, the stereoscopic 3D production work in accordance with the method works independently of the 2D image derivatives can be recognized as whether the rights were discussed.   • However, in order to create a stereoscopic 3D image, independently, it is required to spend expensive manufacturing costs and to have special techniques. As 3D display devices have been generalized, there is an increasing need for implementing a stereoscopic 3D image without a burden of expensive costs. This paper proposes some methods to implement stereoscopic 3D images easily by utilizing a marker tracking technology using a single camera. In addition, the study made it possible for the resolution of an image to be adjustable dynamically. This paper will be committed to the promotion of the field of UCC (User Created Contents) using stereoscopic 3D images by attracting the active participation of general users in the field of the implementation of stereoscopic 3D images.

  • The remarkable development of digital technologies and the success of 3D stereoscopic films have led to started drawing attention to stereoscopic images. The stereoscopic images have not become a passing fad in the present time unlike in the past, but have constantly showed their potentials. Unfortunately, the domestic stereoscopic images market is faced with difficulties, such as lack of the capital strength and of insufficient production infrastructure, and the production of 3D from 2D. As a result, it is not easy to produce creative stereoscopic animation contents. Therefore, in Korea, more efforts should be made in accumulating a plenty of data on production techniques. In order to make film production reflecting stereoscopy and effective stereoscopic implementation, which are necessary to produce high-quality stereoscopic contents, this thesis gave an explanation about a production technique studied on the basis of 3D graphic. Stereoscopic images are definitely one of the most promising image contents in the 21st digital contents industry. For the reason, in order to produce stereoscopic animation contents with high quality, fundamental studies on the stereoscopic images should be performed in a constant and cautions way.

2D-3D Conversion Method Based on Scene Space Reconstruction (장면의 공간 재구성 기법을 이용한 2D-3D 변환 방법)

  • Previous 2D-3D conversion methods to generate 3D stereo images from 2D sequence consist of labor-intensive procedures in their production pipelines. This paper presents an efficient 2D-3D conversion system based on scene structure reconstruction from image sequence. The proposed system reconstructs a scene space and produces 3D stereo images with texture re-projection. Experimental results show that the proposed method can generate precise 3D contents based on scene structure information. By using the proposed reconstruction tool, the stereographer can collaborate efficiently with workers in production pipeline for 3D contents production.

  • 3D 모니터의 공급으로 IT영역 및 의료영상 분야 에서도 3D 영상에 관한 산업 발달이 화두가 되고 있다. 의료영상은 CT, MRI 영상의 정확한 판독이 필요하기 때에 2D 의료영상보다 구체적인 3D 정보를 얻을 수 있는 3D 입체영상에 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 3D 의료 촬영기계가 아닌 기존의 2D 의료 평면 영상 한 장만을 이용한 3D 입체영상을 제작하는 방법을 제안한다. 실험 영상으로 CT의 2D 의료영상을 사용한다. 장기의 영역 분할을 한후, 각 장기 성분을 분석한다. 분리 한 장기들은 명암값에 의해 구분 되며, 이를 바탕으로 영상의 깊이 정보를 추출한다. 추출한 정보로 깊이맵을 작성한다. 작성된 깊이 맵과 기본 2D 의료영상과 합성, 깊이를 할당하여 3D영상을 구현한다.
