소형펀치법에 의한 고온배관재료의 크리프열화 평가 (The Evaluation of Creep Degradation for the High Temperature Pipe Material by Small Punch Test)

  • The boiler tubes and steam Pipes operating both at high temperature and pressure for a long period of time in a power plant are degraded by creep because of internal pressure. So, the remaining life of a component is evaluated by the creep rupture strength. Although the conventional method to evaluate the creep damage is widely used, it has some disadvantages such as requires large size specimen and long employed to evaluate the correlation between fracture toughness and evaluation time. Recently, new method so called "small lunch test' is used to evaluate degradation of creep. In this study, a conventional creep test and a small punch test are conducted using 2.25Cr-1Mo steel which is mainly used for the boiler tubes and steam pipes in power plant. The creep life, approximately 1,500 hrs, is determined by conventional method under a severe condition then specimens for a small Punch test are obtained after certain time intervals such as 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 of final rupture time, respectively.

탄소섬유가 혼합된 세라믹 복합재 제동마찰재의 마찰·마모 특성 (Tribological Properties of Ceramic Composite Friction Materials Reinforced by Carbon Fibers)

  • Because the running speed of vehicles is increasing and a shorter braking distance is required, high heat-resistant brake pads are needed to satisfy the requirements of customers and car makers. In the near future, hazardous materials such as Cu, Cr, Zn, and Sb will be restricted from use in friction materials. Ceramic composites reinforced by carbon fibers are good candidates for eco-friendly friction materials. In this study, we develop ceramic composite friction materials. The friction materials are composed of carbon fibers, Si, SiC, graphite, and phenol resin and are prepared by hot forming and heat treatment at high temperatures. The density, void ratio, and compressive strength are $1.59-1.66g/cm^3$, 16.6-20, and 70-90 MPa, respectively. Friction and wear tests are performed using a pin-on-plate-type reciprocating friction tester at 25, 100, and $200^{\circ}C$. The counterpart material is a CrMoV steel extracted from a KTX brake disc. Friction coefficient, wear amount, and wear mechanism are measured and examined. We determine that the friction coefficients depend on the temperature and the fluctuation of the friction coefficients is larger at higher temperatures. The amount of wear increases with the surface temperatures of the specimens. The tribological properties of the developed composites are similar to those of a Cu-based sintered friction material. Through this study, it is confirmed that ceramic composite materials can be used as friction materials.

침탄처리한 Ni-Cr-Mo강의 마찰-마모특성 (Friction-Wear Properties of Carburized SNCM)

  • In this study, friction-wear test was carried out on the carburized layer depth of a mechanical structure steel SNCM carburized with RX and LPG for 7hrs at $930^{\circ}C$ and also the wear properties of wear loss, wear rate, coefficient of friction, friction force and friction temperature were investigated. The wear properties for carburized layer of SNCM were tested on dry condition at the room temperature by the thrust load of 49~245N range at sliding speed of 0.2m/sec and the sliding speed of 0.2~1.0m/sec range at thrust load of 98N. Wear loss on the depth of carburizing layer was increased with increasing of thrust load and sliding speed, and with decreasing of hardness. The condition of worn surfaces were showed mild wear at less than the thrust load of 98N and sliding speed of 0.6m/sec but were showed severe wear at more than 98N and 0.6m/sec. The friction load and temperature were increased with increasing of thrust load but with increasing sliding speed was appeared minimum at 0.6m/sec. With increasing thrust load the wear rate was increased and the coefficient of friction was decreased, but with increasing sliding speed the wear rate and the coefficient of friction were decreased in 0.2~0.6m/sec and increased in 0.6~1.0m/sec, therefore 0.6m/sec in this testing is a transition velocity.

A Comparative Study on Arrhenius-Type Constitutive Models with Regression Methods

  • A comparative study was performed on strain-compensated Arrhenius-type constitutive models established with two regression methods: polynomial regression and regression Kriging. For measurements at high temperatures, experimental data of 70Cr3Mo steel were adopted from previous research. An Arrhenius-type constitutive model necessitates strain compensation for material constants to account for strain effect. To associate the material constants with strain, we first evaluated them at a set of discrete strains, then capitalized on surrogate modeling to represent the material constants as a function of strain. As a result, disparate flow stress models were formed via the two different regression methods. The constructed constitutive models were examined systematically against measured flow stresses by validation methods. The predicted material constants were found to be quite accurate compared to the actual material constants. However, notable mismatches between measured and predicted flow stresses were revealed by the proposed validation techniques, which carry out validation with not the entire, but a single tensile test case.

초기 연신율법을 이용한 크리프 수명예측 평가 (Evaluation on the Creep Life Prediction Using Initial Strain Method)

  • The high temperature creep behavior of heat machine systems such as aircraft engines, boilers and turbines in power plants and nuclear reactor components have been considered as an important and needful fact. There are considerable research results available for the design of high temperature tube materials in power plants. However, few studies on the Initial Strain Method (ISM) capable of securing repair, maintenance, cost loss and life loss have been made. In this method, 3 long time prediction Of high temperature creep characteristics can be dramatically induced through a short time experiment. The purpose of present study is to investigate the high temperature creep lift of Udimet 720, SCM 440-STD61 and 1Cr-0.5Mo steel using the ISM. The creep test was performed at 40$0^{\circ}C$ to $700^{\circ}C$ under a pure loading. In the prediction of creep life for each materials, the equation of ISM was superior of Larson-Miller Parameter(LMP). Especially, the long time prediction of creep life was identified to improve the reliability.

미소시험편에 의한 재질열화된 내열강의 고온 크리프 특성 평가 (High Temperature Creep Characteristics Evaluation for Degraded Heat Resistance Steel of Power Plant by Mini-Specimen)

  • In this study the new creep test using miniaturized specimen(10${\times}$10${\times}$0.5 ㎣) was performed to evaluate the creep characteristics for degraded materials of 2.25Cr-1Mo steel. For this creep test, the artificially aged materials for 330 hrs and 1820hrs at $630^{\circ}C$ were used. The test temperatures applied for the creep deformation of miniaturized specimens was X$630^{\circ}C$ and the applied loads were between 45 kg∼80 kg. After creep test, macro- and microscopic observation were conducted by the scanning electron microscope(SEM). The creep curves depended definitely on applied load and microstructure and showed the three stages of creep behavior like uniaxial tensile creep curves. The load exponents of virgin, 330 hrs and 1820 hrs materials based on creep rate showed 14.8, 9.5 and 8.3 at $550^{\circ}C$ respectively, The 1820 hrs material showed the lowest load exponent and this behavior was also observed in the case of load exponent based on creep rupture time. In contrast to virgin material which exhibited fined dimple fractography, a lot of carbides like net structure and voids were observed on the fractography of degraded materials.

소듐냉각고속로 붕괴열교환기의 고온 설계 및 건전성 평가 (High-Temperature Design and Integrity Evaluation of Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor Decay Heat Exchanger)

  • 본 연구에서는 소듐냉각 고속로 붕괴열교환기(DHX)의 고온 설계 및 크리프-피로 손상 평가를 수행하였다. 제 4 세대 소듐냉각 고속로의 능동 및 피동 잔열제거계통에 설치되는 DHX와 한국원자력연구원의 STELLA-1 시험루프에 설치된 DHX에 대해 상세설계 및 3D 유한요소해석을 수행하고, 동 결과에 기초하여 고온설계 기술기준인 ASME Section III Subsection NH와 RCC-MR 코드를 따라 크리프-피로 손상평가를 수행하였다. 크리프-피로 손상평가 결과에 기초하여 두 설계기준에 대해 비교 분석하고, 설계 기술기준의 보수성 이슈에 대해 토의하였다.

소듐냉각고속로 피복관용 중형 HT9 단조품 소재의 미세조직 및 기계적 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Microstructural and Mechanical Property of Medium-sized HT9 Cladding Forged Material for Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor)

  • 소듐냉각 고속로 (SFR) 핵연료 피복관 후보재료로 고려되고 있는 중형 규모의 HT9 단조품 소재에 대한 금속조직학적 영향을 고찰하였다. 시험 재료는 유도가열법을 이용하여 1.1톤 규모의 잉곳으로 성형한 후, $1170^{\circ}C$에서 고온 단조 및 공랭을 통하여 160mm 직경 및 7000mm 길이를 갖는 단조품으로 가공하여 반경방향으로 미세조직의 변화를 관찰하였다. 시험 결과 시험 재료는 페라이트-마르텐사이트 조직을 보였으며 합금 조성에 의하여 2~3%의 델타 페라이트 (delta ferrite)를 가짐과 동시에 반경방향의 냉각속도 차이에 의하여 최대 15%의 변태 페라이트 (transformed ferrite)를 함유함이 관찰되었다. 냉각곡선의 모델링과 시간-온도-변태 (TTT) 선도를 이용한 민감도 분석을 통하여 단조품의 직경을 120mm로 줄였을 경우 중심부의 변태 페라이트 형성을 억제할 수 있음을 제시하였다.

고속도강의 미세조직에 미치는 합금원소 및 수직원심주조 조건의 영향 (Influence of Vertical Centrifugal Casting (V.C.C) Conditions and Alloying Elements on Microstructures of High Speed Steel)

  • The HSS consists of hard carbide and matrix of martensite, and so its characteristics of wear resistance, fracture resistance, and surface roughness are good. This study was undertaken to investigate the influence of Nb and V and manufacturing conditions on microstructural behaviors and characteristics in the HSS cylindrical specimens(90 $mm^{O.D.}$ ${\times}$ 60 $mm^{I.D.}$ ${\times}$ 50 $mm^H$) manufactured using VCC(Vertical Centrifugal Casting). In the specimen of Fe-2C-6Cr-1.5W-3Mo-4V alloy, the amount of MC carbide was increased and $M_7C_3$ carbide was decreased with the increase of V and Nb contents. The primary VC carbide was formed and followed by the rod-type eutectic MC carbide was formed in the cell boundary in 9%V added specimen. MC carbide was increased, and $M_7C_3$ carbide was decreased with the addition of Nb content. In the specimen containing more than 3%Nb, primary NbC carbide was formed within the cell of matrix. With increase in rpm, cell and carbides became fine, and amount of carbide $M_7C_3$ was decreased due to increase in cooling rate.

진단용 다엽콜리메이터 개발을 위한 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션 연구 (Monte Carlo Simulation for Development of Diagnostic Multileaf Collimator)

  • 진단방사선 검사 시 환자선량을 감소하기 위한 목적으로 진단용 다엽콜리메이터를 제작하고자 하며, 제작 전 사전연구로서 진단용 다엽콜리메이터에 사용되는 차폐물질 및 차폐효율에 대한 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션 코드(MCNPX, LANL, USA)를 이용하여 진단방사선 기기(ReX-650R, Listem, Korea)을 모델링하기 위하여, SRS-78 프로그램을 이용하여 관전압(80, 100, 120 kVp)에 따라 에너지 스펙트럼을 획득하였다. 진단용 다엽콜리메이터의 제작을 위하여 사용된 재료는 SKD-11(탄소 : 1.6%, 규소 : 0.4%, 망간 : 0.6%, 크롬 : 5%, 몰리브덴 : 1%, 바나듐 : 0.3%, 밀도: $7.87g/cm^3$)이며 이를 진단방사선 기기에 진단용 다엽콜리메이터($10{\times}0.5{\times}0.5cm^3$, 좌우 20개씩) 형태로 전산 모사하였다. 진단용 다엽콜리메이터의 차폐효율을 확인하기 위하여 MCNPX 코드의 tally6을 이용하여 에너지별로 차폐효율을 계산하였다. 에너지에 따른 차폐효율은 80 kVp 일 때, 98.3% 차폐되었으며, 100 kVp는 95.7%, 마지막으로 120 kVp는 93.6%가 차폐되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과를 기반으로 MLC형태 및, 누설선량에 대한 연구를 진행하여 진단방사선 기기에서 사용 가능한 진단용 다엽콜리메이터 개발에 필요한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.
