Optimal Design of Feedforward Control Input for Settling Control in Servo Track Writer (Servo Track Writer 의 Settling Control 을 위한 Feedforward 제어 입력의 최적 설계)

  • 최근 Hard Disk Drive(HDD)는 컴퓨터 산업의 발달과 함께 멀티미디어 어플리케이션의 요구에 따라 대용량화 추세에 있다. 이러한 대용량 HDD 는 고밀도, 고정밀의 track 정보가 필요하게 되고, 이는 HDD 생산에 고속, 고정밀의 Servo Track Writer(STW)를 필요로 하게 되었다. 그러나, 기존의 STW 는 PID 제어기에 공진 모드 제거를 위한 notch filter 를 사용하기 때문에 고속화에는 한계가 있어 track 정보를 기록하는 생산시간의 단축이 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 이를 위하여 기존의 STW 에 공진 모드의 여기를 최소화하기 위해 제어 입력의 profile 을 설계하는데 convex optimization 을 이용한 최적화 기법을 사용하였다. 이렇게 설계된 제어 입력은 플랜트의 공진 모드가 존재하는 주파수 대역에 에너지를 최소화시켜 공진 모드의 영향을 적게 받는다. 그 결과로 빠른 settling time 과 위치 정밀도가 향상된다. 그 효과는 모의 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

A Rate-Distortion Estimation Method for Fast Mode Decision in H.264 (H.264에서 고속의 모드 결정을 위한 율-왜곡 예측 방식)

  • In this paper, a new rate-distortion estimation method is proposed for fast rate-distortion optimized(RDO) mode decision in H.264 encoder. A bit-rate and distortion should be calculated by encoding and reconstruction of each macroblock mode in order to select the optimal RDO mode. To reduce the computations for getting them, a bit-rate and distortion is efficiently estimated in DCT domain. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves computational saving about 81% of RDO mode decision and saves about 26% of total encoding time without noticeable degradation in coding performance.

Fast Intra Mode Selection Algorithm for H.264/AVC Using Constraints of Frequency Characteristics (주파수 특성의 제약 조건들을 이용한 H.264/AVC를 위한 고속 화면 내 모드 선택 방법)

  • H.264/AVC video coding standard enables a considerably higher improvement in coding efficiency compared with previous standards such as MPEG-2, H.263 and MPEG-4. To achieve this, for each macro-block in H.264/AVC, Rate-Distortion Optimization (RDO) technique is employed to select the best motion vector, reference frame, and macro-block mode. As a result, computational complexity is increased significantly whereas RDO achieve higher improvement. This paper presents fast intra mode selection algorithm based on constraints of frequency characteristics which are derived from intra coding modes of H.264/AVC. First of all, we observe the features of each intra mode through the frequency analysis of image. And then proposed Frequency Error Costs (FECs) are calculated to select the best mode which has minimum cost. Computational complexity is considerably reduced because rate-distortion costs only calculate the candidate modes which are set of best mode and its neighbouring two modes. Experimental results show that proposed algorithm reduces the complexity dramatically maintaining the rate-distortion performance compared with H.264/AVC reference software.

  • This paper shows a satellite battery cell voltage monitor system to make differential voltage measurements when one or both measurement points are beyond voltage range allowed by a conventional differential amplifier. This system is particularly useful for monitoring the individual cell voltage of series-connected cells that constitute a rechargeable satellite battery in which some cell voltages must be measured in the presence of high common mode voltage.

  • 본 고는 자기동조 제어기 구성에 관한 논문으로 제어기는 공정의 매개변수 변화와 외란, 잡음에 대하여 운용자의 조작없이 스스로 제어 특성을 만족하도록 동작하며, 공장자동화 시스팀의 일부로서 계층제어 시스팀 구성이 가능한 통신기능을 가지고 있다. 또한, 공정의 시간지연, 불감시간, 비선형 등에 대해서 만족할만한 제어효과를 나타내며, 범용자기동조 제어모드와 PID제어모드를 갖는다. 본문에서는 자기동조 제어기의 시스팀구성, 하드웨어구성, 소프트웨어구성에 대하여 기술한다.

Nonlinear Buckling and Imperfection Sensitivity Analyses of Shell Structures (셸 구조물의 비선형좌굴 및 결함민감도 해석)

  • 좌굴하기 쉬운 구조물을 설계할 때는 반드시 좌굴특성에 대한 어떤 직관을 가져야 한다. 이글의 목적은 셸 구조물이 비선형붕괴(nonlinear collapse), 분기좌굴(bifurcation buckling) 또는 이들 모드의 조합에 의해서 어떻게 좌굴될 것인가에 대한 감각을 전하는데 있다. 이 불안정에 대한 직관적 이해는 보강되고 여러 요소들로 조립되며 분지셸(branched shell)을 갖거나 복잡한 벽구 조를 갖는 실제 셸 구조물 등의 많은 예에 의해서 얻어질 수 있다. 이 글에서는 수식의 개발이 아니라 불안정의 예측에 주안점을 두고 있으며, 큰 처짐과 소성의 조합에 의해 발생되는 비선 형좌굴과 결함민감도가 특히 강조된다. 또한 최적화된 구조물의 국부 및 전체 불안정, 좌굴모드의 상호작용, 그리고 결함민감도(imperfection sensitivity) 등이 예시된다.

  • The response characteristics of EHA systems are sensitive to the temperature change of working fluid because the temperature of working fluid causes the variation of system parameters such as effective bulk modulus and viscous friction coefficient. In this paper, a precise position control of EHA system using the adaptive sliding mode control system is suggested. The adapted system parameters such as effective bulk modulus and viscous friction coefficient can be used for monitoring failures in the EHA system which has potential applications in the industrial fields. Not only the accuracy of adapted system parameters but also the improved performance and robustness in a given reference position of the cylinder are verified by computer simulation using AMESim software.

  • In this paper, the performance improvement of a decentralized brake system for railway rolling stocks is investigated. In order to verify the effectiveness of the decentralized brake system, it is compared to the truck unit brake system which has only one control unit per a truck. The adaptive sliding mode control scheme is used to realize a robust anti-slip brake control system. Through computer simulations, it is verified that the decentralized brake system has better braking performance than the truck unit brake system.

Development of submersion sensors using multi-mode fibers spliced with a fiber Bragg grating (다중모드 광섬유 융착형 침수 감지 센서 개발)

  • This paper reports a preliminary experimental investigation and characterization of an optical fiber-based submersion sensor system for applications in water flooding and leakage. The sensor system comprises a multi-mode fiber spliced with fiber Bragg grating and an intensity-based interrogator. Submersion tests were conducted in water-air and Glycerin-air environments. By the refractive index of the fiber-probe surrounding materials, the reflectance and the detecting power level is determined. When the probe is dipped into the water, the optical output power dramatically decreases from -7.5dBm to -17.5dBm. But, the center of Bragg wavelength is not affected in spite of external material changes. Temporal response characteristics of the sensor system is investigated to verify the real-time reaction. When the probe is immersed into the liquid, there is no transition time.

A Development on the Fault Prognosis of Bearing with Empirical Mode Decomposition and Artificial Neural Network (경험적 모드 분해법과 인공 신경 회로망을 적용한 베어링 상태 분류 기법)

  • Bearings have various uses in industrial equipment. The lifetime of bearings is often lesser than anticipated at the time of purchase, due to environmental wear, processing, and machining errors. Bearing conditions are important, since defects and damage can lead to significant issues in production processes. In this study, we developed a method to diagnose faults in the bearing conditions. The faults were determined using kurtosis, average, and standard deviation. An intrinsic mode function for the data from the selected axis was extracted using empirical mode decomposition. The intrinsic mode function was obtained based on the frequency, and the learning data of ANN (Artificial Neural Network) was concluded, following which the normal and fault conditions of the bearing were classified.
