XLPE 절연체의 등가 및 가변온도 가속열화실험을 통한 기계적 특성 비교 분석 (A Comparison Study on Mechanical Properties of XLPE Insulation Thermally Degraded at Equivalent and Variable Temperature Conditions)

  • Recently, as the number of years of operation has increased for more than 30 years, interest in evaluating the remaining life of major power facilities such as transformers and ultra-high voltage cables is increasing. In particular, the risk of failure is increasing because the underground transmission XLPE cable has been built since 1980 and has been operating in excess of 30 years of design life or close proximity. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an algorithm to evaluate the residual life of the XLPE cable considering the load to determine the risk of failure. Since load data is large amount of data, it is necessary to make the variable load information equivalent to the time unit first in order to calculate the remaining life of the system quickly. In overseas literature, transformers are reported to be standardized for variable load equivalent conversion formulas, but they have not been reported for ultra-high voltage cables. Therefore, in this paper, whether the equivalent conversion formula of a transformer can be applied to XLPE cables was reviewed through accelerated degradation tests under equivalent and variable temperature conditions, and considerations were studied when evaluating the remaining operating life of XLPE cables based on the experimental results.

Evaluation of the relation between the pulp stones and direct restorations using cone beam computed tomography in a Turkish subpopulation

  • Objectives: This study aimed to assess the presence of pulp stones through an examination of cone beam computed tomography images and correlate their prevalence with age, sex, dental arch and side, tooth type, and restoration type and depth. Materials and Methods: Cone beam computed tomography images obtained from 673 patients and archival data on 11,494 teeth were evaluated. The associations of pulp stones with age, sex, dental arch and side, tooth type, and restoration type and depth were noted. All the measurements were subjected to a χ2 test and one sample χ2 test (p < 0.05). Results: In the study group, 163 (24.2%) patients and 379 (3.3%) teeth had at least one pulp stone. The pulp stone frequency in those aged 30-39 years was significantly greater than in those aged 18-29 and ≥ 60 years, and the frequency was higher in females than in males (p < 0.05). The highest prevalence of pulp stones was found in maxillary dental arches and molar teeth (p < 0.05). Pulp stones were significantly more common in medium-depth restorations (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Maxillary molar teeth, medium-depth restorations, individuals aged 30-39 years and females had a greater percentage of pulp stones.

Analysis of suicide statistics and trends between 2011 and 2021 among Korean women

  • Purpose: This study aims to analyze the number of suicide deaths in women, trends in suicide mortality, characteristics of suicide by age, and outcomes of suicide means over the past decade (2011-2021) in South Korea. Methods: Using cause of death data from Statistics Korea, an in-depth analysis of Korean women's suicide trends was conducted for the period of 2011-2021. Results: In 2021, women's suicide death in Korea was 4,159, a rate of 16.2 per 100,000 population. The rate increased by 1.4% from the previous year. Since 2011, women's suicide rate has been on a steady downward trend, but since 2018, it has been on the rise again. Suicide rates among women in their 20s and 30s have increased, especially since the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, and suicide rates among women over 70 years remain high. As compared to 2011, pesticide poisoning and hanging among the means of suicide have decreased significantly, while drug and carbon monoxide continue to increase. Conclusion: Suicide rates for Korean women in their 20s and 30s have increased significantly in recent years, and those for women over 70 years remain high. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the causes and establish national policies for targeted management of these age groups, which contributes significantly to the rising suicide rate among Korean women.

Distribution and Antifungal Susceptibilities of Candida Species Isolated from Blood Cultures from 2016 to 2023 years

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the distribution and antifungal susceptibilities of Candida spp. from blood culture to provide useful information on empirical treatment of Candidemia. We investigated distribution and antifungal susceptibilities of Candida spp. isolated from blood culture during an 8-years (2016-2023) in a C-University hospital. Over 8 years, 1,182 Candida strains from blood culture were isolated, which was fourth most common cause of bloodstream infection. Among nonduplicated 350 Candida strains, C. albicans was the most common with 45.43%, followed by C. glabrata (17.43%), C. tropicalis (17.43%), C. parapsilosis (14.86%), C. guilliermondii (1.71%), C. krusei (0.86%), C. lusitaniae (0.86%), C. ciferrii (0.57%). In the antifungal susceptibility testing on 323 Candida strains, the non-susceptibility rate was 2.48% for amphotericin B, 1,71% for flucytosine, 3.09% for fluconazole, 4.66% for voriconazole, 5.57% for caspofungin, and 0.62% for micafungin. In particular, C. albicans showed non-susceptibility of 8.23% to voriconazole, and C. glabrata showed 14.81% and 24.59% to fluconazole and caspofungin, respectively. These data showed that the prevalence of candidemia is very common, and antifungal resistance in Candida spp., especially C. glabrata, is increasing. Therefore, periodic surveillance of prevalence and antifungal susceptibility of blood culture is very important for clinical laboratory.

40세 이상의 여성에서 연령에 따른 체외수정시술 결과 분석 (Outcome of in vitro Fertilization in Women $\geq$40 Years of Age)

  • 목 적: 자신의 난자를 사용하여 체외수정시술을 시행한 40세 이상의 여성 환자에서 시술 결과를 분석하여 체외수정시술의 유용성을 평가하였다. 연구방법: 본원에 내원하여 체외수정-배아이식 시술을 받은 환자 중 40세 이상의 여성 환자 170명 271주기를 대상으로 하여 시술 결과를 분석하였다. 이들 환자 중 44세 미만 군과 44세 이상 군으로 나누어 시술 결과를 비교하였다. 통계학적 분석은 student t-test 및 Fishers exact test를 이용하였다. 결 과:총 임상적 임신율이 11% (30/271), 임상적 임신이 확인된 후 유산된 경우가 33% (10/30), 총 분만율이 7.4% (20/271)이었다. 44세 미만 군과 44세 이상 군의 비교에서는 주기취소율이 13%와 23%로 44세 이상군에서 높았고, 평균 회수된 난자 수, 수정된 배아 수, 이식한 배아 수는 각각 6.17$\pm$4.62와 4.13$\pm$4.07, 4.83$\pm$3.61와 3.46$\pm$3.12, 3.52$\pm$1.72와 2.81$\pm$1.83로 44세 이상 군에서 통계적으로 유의하게 낮았다. 임상적 임신율과 분만율도 각각 13.0%와 2.1%, 9.0%와 0.0%로 44세 이상 군에서 유의하게 낮았다. 결 론: 본 연구 결과에 의하면 자신의 난자를 사용한 체외수정-배아이식 시술이 44세 미만의 여성불임 환자에게는 유용한 시술이지만, 44세 이상의 환자에서는 시술을 통한 성공적인 임신과 분만에 어려움이 많았다.

  • In the satellite system design, the processes from the initial design to launch take about 5 years and the broadcasting satellite lifetime goes over 15 years. Furthermore, global warming phenomenon causes rainfall rate increasing more and more in some regions on the earth. Consequently, at the stage of the satellite link design, we need to consider the future rain attenuation over 20 years. In this paper, we investigated two time-series system models for forecasting to consider the future rainfall rate for the satellite broadcasting service. We found that rainfall rate of the future 30 years is increasing continuously.

  • Nowadays obesity has been become a serious social issue. Many researches are trying to find the root cause of obesity. Obesity causes various kinds of disease and safety accidents in work places. Thus, the main objective of this study is to analyze obesity index of citizens in Seoul which is a metropolis of Korea and a densely populated district. In order to analyze a detailed somatotype of citizens, age groups are divided into 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-49 years, and 50-59 years according to gender respectively. The result of this study can be applied to the comfortable and appropriate design for workers.

톡소플라즈마원충(原蟲)(RH주(株))의 5년간 동결보존시험 (Preservation of Toxoplasma gondii (RH strain) in liquid nitrogen for 5 years)

  • Toxoplasma gondii frozen by the method of very slow cooling ($-30^{\circ}C/3hrs.{\rightarrow}\;-60^{\circ}C/lhr.{\rightarrow}\;-196^{\circ}C$ of liquid nitrogen)were inoculated mice after storage in the liquid nitrogen for 5 years. The results obtained were as follows; 1. Toxoplasma gondii was detected in mice 4~5th day after intraperitoneal inoculation of organisms stored in the liquid nitrogen once a year for 5 years. 2. Toxoplasma gondii could be preserved longer than 5 years in liquid nitorgen being evidenced by the in vivo test.

패모(貝母)의 재배년수(栽培年數)가 생육(生育) 및 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of Cultivation Years on Growth and Yield of Fritillaria thunbergii Miq.)

  • 중부지방(中部地方)에서 패모(貝母)의 적정 재배년수(栽培年敎)를 구명(究明)코자 품종(品種)을 청주(淸州) 일원에서 재배(栽培)되고 있는 평패모(平貝母)를 수집, 공시(供試)하여 재배년수(栽培年敦)를 1년(年), 2년(年), 3년(年) 재배후(裁培後) 생육(生育) 특성(特性) 및 수량(收量) 구성(構成) 요소(要素)와 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 초장(草長), 경수(莖數)은 출현후(出現後) 42일(日)에 최고(最高)에 달하였고 재배년수(栽培年數)가 연장(延長)될수록 증가폭(增加幅)이 켰다. 2. 구(球)의 비대(肥大)는 출현후(出現後) 32일(日)부터 62일(日) 사이에 급격(急激)히 진행(進行)되어 출현후(出現後) 72일(日)에 완성(完成)되었다. 3. 재배년수별(栽培年敎別) 구(球)의 건물(乾物) 비율(比率)은 $27.2{\sim}30.3%$로 2年 재배(栽培)에서 가장 높았다. 4. 시장(市場) 출하(出荷) 가능(可能)한 5g 이상(以上) 종구(種球)는 1년(年) 재배(栽培) 89%, 2년(年) 재배(栽培) 87%, 3년(年) 재배(栽培) 77%이었으나 단위수량(單位收量)은 1년(年) < 2년(年) < 3년(年) 재배순(栽培順)이었다. 5. 10a당(當) 수량(收量)은 1년(年) 재배(栽培)(638kg/10a)에 비하여 2년(年) 재배(栽培) 88%, 3년(年) 재배(栽培) 189% 증수(增收)되었다.

  • 2013년 말, 전세계에 운행중인 원자력발전소 원자로는 434기로 총 용량은 371.6GW(e)이며, 이 중 약 80%는 20년 이상 사용되었다. 많은 회원국들은 최우선 순위로 자신들의 원자력발전소 운행 기간을 원래의 예상 기간인 30~40년 보다 길게 허용했다. 그렇다면 원자력발전소의 어려운 환경에서 기존의 케이블을 어떻게 적격 판정할 것인가. 본 원고는 원자력발전소의 저전압 케이블의 적격, 상태 모니터링 및 관리에 대한 연구 사항을 기술하였다.
