  • This paper presents equipment for charging and discharging with high power factor and high efficiency. This equipment is consisted of $3{\phi}$ SPWM AC/DC converter for improving input current waveform and input power factor, and bidirectional DC/DC converter for electric isolation in the DC link Part. Therefore, Input power factor and the total efficiency in the proposed system can be increased more than in the conventional phase-controlled thyristor charging-discharging System.

  • 본 논문에서는 여러 대의 전력변환장치를 모듈화 하여 병렬 운전할시 필연적으로 발생하게 되는 순환전류를 억제하기 위한 제어 기법을 제안하였다. 이에 따라 병렬 운전 시스템이 갖는 응답 특성 및 정상상태 동작 등의 타당성을 시뮬레이션 모델을 통하여 검토하였다.

  • The four-leg Voltage Source Converter(VSC) can use the DC link voltage effectively by the 3-D SVPWM method. Hence the DC battery voltage can be reduced by $15\%$ in comparison to that of the conventional line-interactive UPS system. In this paper a novel line interactive Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS) using the two four-leg VSCs is proposed. One VSC is in parallel with the ac link reactor of the power source side, and the other is in series with the load. The parallel four-leg voltage source inverter controls the three-phase line voltage independently in order to control the line reactor current indirectly. It eliminates the neutral line current and the active ripple power of the source side using the pqr theory so that unity power factor and the sinusoidal source current can be achieved even though both the source and the load voltages have zero sequence components. The series four-leg voltage source inverter compensates the line voltage and allows it to be balanced and harmonic-free. Both of the parallel and series four-leg voltage source inverters always act as independently controllable voltage sources, so that the three-phase output voltage shows a seamless transition to the backup mode. The feasibility of the proposed UPS system has been investigated and verified through computer simulations results.

  • 본 논문에서는 급속충전기에 적용 가능한 매트릭스 컨버터 기반의 3상 절연형 커패시터리스 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 컨버터는 직류 링크단의 전해 커패시터를 제거함으로써 기존의 풀브리지형 컨버터에 비해 부피가 작고 신뢰성이 향상되는 장점이 있다. 또한, 기존의 충전기가 AC-DC 변환기와 DC-DC 변환기를 포함한 2단 구조인데 비해 제안하는 충전기는 매트릭스 컨버터 회로를 이용한 1단 구조로서 제어부 구성이 간단한 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 제안한 충전기를 해석하고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제안한 충전기의 유효성을 확인한다.

  • Many new electronic products are required to have a near unity power factor and a distortion free current input waveform. In this paper, single phase AC to DC Boost-Converter which is controlled with continuous conduction mode(CCM) is analyzed. Each parameter is determined for variable hysteresis current mode and real time simulation results showed high power factor possible. l(kW] boost converter was designed and constructed accordingly. Experimental results to load and parameter variations are well similar to the simulation results.

  • In this paper, the control algorithm of DC source device for inverter starting is proposed and the control method for compensating unbalance system source on operating time in the voltage type PWM converter with driving and regenerative faculty is suggested. The maintaining way of balancing condition for converter of AC source is used the compensating unbalanced status by current control loop. Because it is possible that the unbalanced System control is used to leakage transformer not equaled reactance by each phase in rectifier system, the proposed H/W and control algorithm of rectifier system is contributed to minimize of device and rising efficiency.

  • 본 논문에서는 DC배전용 전력변환장치를 모듈화하여 병렬운전을 하기 위한 새로운 Droop 제어를 제안한다. 제안한 방식은 동일용량의 모듈을 병렬로 용이하게 연결할 수 있으며 모듈간 제어진동을 최소화하고 순환전류를 억제한다. 이에 따라 병렬 운전 시스템이 갖는 과도응답 및 정상상태 특성 등을 시뮬레이션과 실험을 토대로 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • In this paper, A voltage source PWM converter which achieves bidirectional power flow between a $3{\phi}$ AC supply and a DC bus voltage is described. And the paper considers both the steady state and transient response of such a device, and develops mathematical models to describe its performance under the digital control system. As a result the AC line current becomes sinusoidal and the input power factor is improved to unity.

  • This paper deals with a novel solid state controller (NSSC) for an isolated asynchronous generator (IAG) feeding 3-phase 4-wire loads driven by constant power prime movers, such as uncontrolled pico hydro turbines. AC capacitor banks are used to meet the reactive power requirement of the asynchronous generator. The proposed NSSC is realized using a set of IGBTs (Insulated gate bipolar junction transistors) based current controlled 2-leg voltage source converters (CC- VSC) and a DC chopper at its DC bus, which keeps the generated voltage and frequency constant in spite of changes in consumer loads. The neutral point of the load is created using aT-configuration of the transformers. The IAG system is modeled in MATLAB along with Simulink and PSB (power system block set) toolboxes. The simulated results are presented to demonstrate the capability of the isolated generating system consisting of NSSC and IAG driven by uncontrolled pico hydro turbine and feeding 3-phase 4-wire loads.

  • In this paper, a new current based maximum power point tracking (CMPPT) method is proposed for a single phase photovoltaic power conditioning system and the current based MPPT modifies incremental conductance method. The current based MPPT method makes the entire control structure of the power conditioning system simple and uses an inherent current source characteristic of solar cell array. In addition, digital phase locked loop using an all pass filter is introduced to detect phase of grid voltage as well as peak voltage. Controllers about dc/dc boost converter, dc-link voltage, dc/ac inverter is designed for a coordinated operation. Furthermore, PI current control using a pseudo synchronous d-q transformation is employed for grid current control with unity power factor. 3kW prototype photovoltaic power conditioning system is built and its experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control schemes.
