LC필터가 없는 고역율 3상 AC-DC 컨버터 (High Power Factor 3-Phase AC-DC Converter without LC Filter)

  • 본 연구는 산업체에서 널리 사용되어지고 있는 기존의 3상 AC-DC 컨버터에서 무게와 부피를 획기적으로 줄일 수 있는 고역율 3상 AC-DC컨버터를 제안하였다. 제안된 고역율 3상 AC-DC 컨버터는 LC 필터를 제거 한 상태에서 효율성과 다탕성을 검증함으로써 경량화는 물론 저 비용을 실현할 수 있게 된다. 또한 LC 필터를 제거하였음에도 불구하고 성능 면에서 볼 때 기존의 AC-DC 컨버터와 비슷한 성능을 얻을 수 있으므로 고전력 밀도 및 고역율이 요구되는 항공 우주 분야에 응용이 가능해 질 것으로 기대된다.

Two-Switch Auxiliary Resonant DC Link Snubber-Assisted Three-Phase Soft Switching PWM Sinewave Power Conversion System with Minimized Commutation Power Losses

  • This paper presents a high-efficient and cost effective three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC power conversion system with a single two-switch type active Auxiliary Resonant DC Link (ARDCL) snubber circuit, which can minimize the total power dissipation. The active ARDCL snubber circuit is proposed in this paper and its unique features are described. Its operation principle in steady-state is discussed for the three phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter, which is composed of PWM rectifier as power factor correction (PFC) converter, sinewave PWM inverter. In the presented power converter system not only three-phase AC/DC PWM rectifier but also three-phase DC/AC inverter can achieve the stable ZVS commutation for all the power semiconductor devices. It is proved that the proposed three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter system is more effective and acceptable than the previous from the cost viewpoint and high efficient consideration. In addition, the proposed two-switch type active auxiliary ARDCL snubber circuit can reduce the peak value of the resonant inductor injection current in order to maximize total system actual efficiency by using the improved DSP based control scheme. Moreover the proposed active auxiliary two-switch ARDCL snubber circuit has the merit so that there is no need to use any sensing devices to detect the voltage and current in the ARDCL sunbber circuit for realizing soft-switching operation. This three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter system developed for UPS can achieve the 1.8% higher efficiency and 20dB lower conduction noise than those of the conventional three-phase hard-switching PWM AC/DC-DC/AC converter system. It is proved that actual efficiency of the proposed three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter system operating under a condition of soft switching is 88.7% under 10kw output power.

  • A highly efficient single-phase/three-phase compatible ac-to-dc converter is proposed and analyzed, which includes three identical single-phase both soft-switched dc-to-dc converter with boost converter as a pre-regulator for input power factor correction (PFC). The proposed converter structure provides a cost reduction and easy implementation of compatibility between single-phase 220V and three-phase 220V/380V with their inputs in delta or wye connections.

  • 동기발전기의 출력전압은 여자 시스템의 계자 전류 제어에 의해 일정하게 유지된다. 현재 대부분의 발전기 여자기의 여자전류제어를 위해 사용되는 AVR 시스템의 AC/DC 컨버터 부는 출력전압 제어가 가능한 위상제어 컨버터나 출력전압을 제어할 수 없는 다이오드 정류기와 DC/DC 컨버터를 결합하여 사용하고 있다. AC/DC 전력 변환장치로서 위상제어 컨버터나 출력전압을 제어할 수 없는 다이오드 정류기의 경우, AVR시스템의 전력을 공급하는 모선의 역률저하 및 저차 고조파 발생의 문제점을 야기 시키게 된다. 본 논문에서는 동기발전기의 여자전류 제어를 위해 사용되는 AVR 시스템 설계에 있어 단위역률 동작이 가능한 Boost형 AC/DC 컨버터와 모선의 부하변동에 속응성 있게 동작할 수 있는 전류 제어형 Buck 컨버터를 결합한 2단 3상 PWM AC/DC 컨버터에 대해 연구하였다. 제안된 AC/DC 컨버터를 시뮬레이션 한 결과 Boost 컨버터의 경우 단위 역률 동작 및 출력 DC 전압의 Boost 동작이 원할히 이루어졌으며, Buck 컨버터의 경우 다른 위상제어 컨버터에 비해 응답시간이 개선되었음을 알 수 있었다.

  • A novel mode of parallel operation of a modular 3-phase AC-DC flyback converter for power factor correction along with tight regulation was recently analyzed and presented. The advantage of the proposed converter does not require expensive high voltage and high current devices that are normally needed in popular boost type 3-phase converter. In this paper the detailed small signal analysis of the modular 3-phase AC-DC flyback converter is provided for control purposes and also experimental results are included to confirm the validity of the analysis.

  • Fault diagnosis technique of electrical drives is becoming more and more important, since voltage fed converter system has become industrial standard in many applications. Many studies have been conducted an inverter fault diagnosis for induction motors. However, there are few researches about fault diagnosis of 3-phase ac/dc PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) converter compared to the dc/ ac inverter. The ac/dc converter is the opposite of dc/ac inverter at current flow. Also, inverter and converter have different current patterns under the same condition of IGBT (Insulated gate bipolar transistor) open switch fault. Therefore, it is difficult to apply intact diagnosis methods of inverter to the converter. This paper proposes modified fault detection methods for IGBT open switch fault in 3-phase ac/dc PWM converter by modifying established fault diagnostic methods for dc/ac inverters.

  • This paper proposed that the conventional three phase AC-DC converter with bulk LC output filter has been widely used in the industry because of simple circuit, low cost and high power factor (90%). One of the biggest drawback of this three phase AC-DC converter is bulk and heavy. This is serious especially for aerospace applications. To solve this problem a new simple three phase AC-DC converter is presented. Operation of the proposed high power factor three phase AC-DC converter is illustrated and verified by PSpice simulation.

  • The terminal voltage of a synchronous generator is maintained by the field current control of excitation system Generally AC/DC converter which is component of AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator) system for excitation current control is connected to diode rectifier and DC/DC converter system In the case of diode rectifier system of phase controlled converter, AC/DC converter has low power factor and some low order harmonics in the line current. In this paper, two-stage three-phase PWM AC/DC converter is studied to solve these problems, The proposed method is verified by the computer simulations and experimental results in prototype generation system.

  • 본 논문에서는 우수한 출력전압 조절 기능과 높은 역률을 갖는 3상 AC-DC flyback 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안한 컨버터의 장점은 보통 부스트 형의 3상 컨버터에서 쓰이는 가격이 비싼 고전압, 대전류의 소자를 필요로 하지 않는다. 본 논문에서는 제어 목적으로 3상 AC-DC flyback 컨버터에 대해서 소신호 해석을 하였고 실험결과는 분석의 타당성을 확증한다.
