Look into the nuclear power plant of Wolsong currently, it is controlled in order to required operating pressure with PI controller. PI controller has a simple structure and satisfy design requirements to gain setting. However, It is difficult to control without changing the gain from produce changes in parameters such as loss of the valves and the pipes. To solve these problems, the dynamic change of the PI controller gain, or to compensate for the PI controller output is desirable to configure the controller. The aim of this research and development in the parameter variations can be controlled to a stable controller design which is reduced an error and a vibration. Proposed PI/NN control techniques is the PI controller and the neural network controller that combines a parallel and the neural network controller part is compensated output of the controller for changes in the parameters were designed to be robust. To directly evaluate the controller performance can be difficult to test in real processes to reflect the characteristics of the process. Therefore, we develope the simulator model using the real process data and simulation results when compared with the simulated process characteristics that showed changes in the parameters. As a result the PI/NN controller error and was confirmed to reduce vibrations.
Background: There is no standard treatment for patients with platinum-resistant or refractory epithelial ovarian cancer. Single agent chemotherapies have evidence of more efficacy and less toxicity than combination therapy. Most are very expensive, with appreciable toxicity and minimal survival. Since it is difficult to make comparison between outcomes, economic analysis of single-agent chemotherapy regimens and best supportive care may help to make decisions about an appropriate management for the affected patients. Objective: To evaluate the cost effectiveness of second-line chemotherapy compared with best supportive care for patients with platinum-resistant or refractory epithelial ovarian cancer. Materials and Methods: A Markov model was used to estimate the effectiveness and total costs associated with treatments. The hypothetical patient population comprised women aged 55 with platinum-resistant or refractory epithelial ovarian cancer. Four types of alternative treatment options were evaluated: 1) gemcitabine followed by BSC; 2) pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) followed by BSC; 3) gemcitabine followed by topotecan; and 4) PLD followed by topotecan. Baseline comparator of alternative treatments was BSC. Time horizon of the analysis was 2 years. Health care provider perspective and 3% discount rate were used to determine the costs of medical treatment in this study. Quality-adjusted life-years (QALY) were used to measure the treatment effectiveness. Treatment effectiveness data were derived from the literature. Costs were calculated from unit cost treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer patients at various stages of disease in King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH) in the year 2011. Parameter uncertainty was tested in probabilistic sensitivity analysis by using Monte Carlo simulation. One-way sensitivity analysis was used to explore each variable's impact on the uncertainty of the results. Results: Approximated life expectancy of best supportive care was 0.182 years and its total cost was 26,862 Baht. All four alternative treatments increased life expectancy. Life expectancy of gemcitabine followed by BSC, PLD followed by BSC, gemcitabine followed by topotecan and PLD followed by topotecan was 0.510, 0.513, 0.566, and 0.570 years, respectively. The total cost of gemcitabine followed by BSC, PLD followed by BSC, gemcitabine followed by topotecan and PLD followed by topotecan was 113,000, 124,302, 139,788 and 151,135 Baht, respectively. PLD followed by topotecan had the highest expected quality-adjusted life-years but was the most expensive of all the above strategies. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (ICER) of gemcitabine followed by BSC, PLD followed by BSC, gemcitabine followed by topotecan and PLD followed by topotecan was 344,643, 385,322, 385,856, and 420,299 Baht, respectively. Conclusions: All of the second-line chemotherapy strategies showed certain benefits due to an increased life-year gained compared with best supportive care. Moreover, gemcitabine as second-line chemotherapy followed by best supportive care in progressive disease case was likely to be more effective strategy with less cost from health care provider perspective. Gemcitabine was the most cost-effective treatment among all four alternative treatments. ICER is only an economic factor. Treatment decisions should be based on the patient benefit.
The crustal structure of Korean Peninsula is investigated by analyzing phase velocity dispersion data of Rayleigh wave. Earthquakes recorded by three component seismographs during 1999 - 2004 in South Korea are used in this study. The fundamental mode signals of Rayleigh waves are obtained from vertical components of seismograms by multiple filter technique method and phase match filter method. Velocity dispersion curves of surface waves for 14 propagation paths on the great circle are computed from the fundamental mode signals on the great circle path by two-station method. Treating the shear velocity of each layer as an independent parameter, phase velocities of Rayleigh wave are inverted. The result models are regarded as average structure for surface wave propagation paths respectively. All the results can be explained by an earth model of the Korean Peninsula comprising crust of shear-wave velocity increasing from 2.8 to 3.25 km/sec from top to 33 km depth and uppermost mantle of shear-wave velocity between 4.55 and 4.67 km/sec.
In the present study, a numerical analysis was performed for interior connections of continuous flat plate to analyze the effect of design parameters such as column section shape, gravity load and slab span on the behavioral characteristics of the connections. For the purpose, a computer program for nonlinear FE analysis was developed, and the validity was verified. Through the parametric study, the variations of shear stress distribution around the connection were investigated. According to the result of numerical analysis, as the length of the cross section of column in the direction of lateral load increases and gravity load increases, the effective area and the maximum shear strength providing the torsional resistance decrease considerably. And as the slab span loaded with relatively large gravity load increases, the negative moment around the connection increases and therefore the strength of connection against unbalanced moment decreases. By considering the effect of design parameters on the strength of the connections, the effective shear strength to calculate the torsional moment capacity of connection was proposed and the effectiveness of the proposed shear strength was verified.
Six alkali-activated (AA) concrete mixes were tested to explore the significance and limitations of developing an environmental friendly concrete. Ground granulated blast-furnace slag and powder typed sodium silicate were selected as source material and an alkaline activator, respectively. The main parameter investigated was the replacement level of lightweight fine aggregate to the natural sand. Workability and mechanical properties of lightweight AA concrete were measured: the variation of slump with time, the rate of compressive strength development, the splitting tensile strength, the moduli of rupture and elasticity, the stress-strain relationship, the bond resistance and shrinkage strain. Test results showed that the compressive strength of lightweight AA concrete sharply decreased when the replacement level of lightweight fine aggregate exceeded 30%. In particular, the increase in the discontinuous grading of lightweight aggregate resulted in the deterioration of the mechanical properties of concrete tested. The measured properties of lightweight AA concrete were also compared, wherever possible, with the results obtained from the design equations specified in ACI 318-05 or EC 2, depending on the relevance, and the results predicted from the empirical equations proposed by Slate et al. for lightweight ordinary Portland cement concrete. The stress-strain curves of different concrete were compared with predictions obtained from the mathematical model proposed by Tasnimi. The measured mechanical properties of lightweight AA concrete generally showed little agreement with the predictions obtained from these equations.
Ground magnetic surveys were conducted at four areas where the Yangsan fault, the most prominent lineament in the Kyeongsang basin, appears to be passed through. For data processing, IGRF correction, upward continuation and reduction-to-the-pole were performed. The automatic inversion by using a matrix computation method, which takes the depth to bottom layer of the horizontal two layer structure as the model parameter, has been attempted to delineate the subsurface structure. Upward continuation of the surface magnetic map to the same level of the aeromagnetic survey (KIER, 1989) resulted in very similiar patterns to those of aeromagnetic data. Subsurface modeling of eight profile data show that the strike and dip of the Yangsan fault in study areas are $N6^{\circ}-15^{\circ}E$, and near vertical to somewhat eastward, repectively, despite of the local lithological contrast of each study area. It seems that the magnetic effect of faulting in the study area 1, which locates in the most northern part of the survey areas, is disturbed by that of igneous intrusion. At study area 2, the possibility of volcanic or igneous intrusion, which is 200-300 meters wide along the fault plane was presented. At study area 3, unlike other study areas, distinct fracture zone of 500-700 meters in width was revealed along the surface fault line. The andesitic rocks of the study area 4 have very high susceptibilities and the fault line on surface of this area was shifted about 500 meter eastward, as compared with the inferred fault line by the previous study.
Field experiments were conducted to investigate the competition relationships of main paddy weeds with transplanted rice grown in paddy conditions. Data were used to predict crop yield as a function of weed density using a rectangular hyperbola model and determine weed economic threshold (ET) levels. The rectangular hyperbola (equation 2) was fitted to rice yield to estimate weed-free rice yield ($Y_o$) and weed competitivity (${\beta}$). Its competitivity for M. vaginalis was 0.0007445, 0.0005713, 0.000988 and 0.0008846 in Daejeon, Suwon, Iksan and Naju, respectively. The competitivity at harvest represented by parameter ${\beta}$ ranged from 0.001611 in Naju to 0.002437 in Iksan for S. trifolia. The ET levels of main paddy weeds in machine transplanted rice cultivation were well estimated based on the herbicides applied and its application cost. Therefore, our results can be used to support decision-making on herbicide application for weed management in transplanted rice cultivation.
The formation and structure of tidal front in the eastern part of the Yellow Sea were studied based on the oceanographic data compiled during the periods of $1982{\sim}1983$ and $1966{\sim}1970$. Well-defined fronts occurring in the Yellow Sea in summer mark the boundary between the stratified and vertically mixed regimes. The occurrence of vertically mixed regimes may be interpreted in terms of available turbulent kinematic energy of tidal currents. The tidal frontal regions were determined by horizontal gradients of temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen, and were verified by water colour and transparency. In summer the tidal fronts were found at depths of $15{\sim}25m$ at about 20 miles from the shore. Potential energy of vortical stratification in the tidal frontal region was 10 $Joule/m^3$. The stratification parameter in the frontal region computed from the numerical tidal model was $S_p=1.0.$ Tidal front is formed in regions with $S_p=1-1.5,$ if surface heat flux are constant. Waters in the stratified region have the layer structures of wind-mixed surface layer, thermocline and tidal-mixed bottom layer. In the vertically mixed region, however, sea water is nearly homogeneous. in winter no distinctive tidal front was seen.

Modern solid-state gyroscopes (HRG) with hemispherical resonators from high-purity quartz glass and special surface superfinishing and ultrathin gold coating become the best instruments for precise-grade inertial reference units (IRU) targeting long-term space missions. Designing of these sensors could be a notable contribution into development of Korea as a space nation. In participial, 40mm diameter thin-shell resonator from high-purity fused quartz, fabricated as a single-piece with its supporting stem has been designed, machined, etched, tuned, tested, and delivered by STM Co. (ATS of Ukraine) several years ago; an extremely-high Q-factor (upto 10~20 millions) has been shown. Understanding of the best way how to match such a unique sensor with inner glass assembly of the gyro means how to use the high potential in a maximal extent; and this has become the urgent task. Inner quartz glass assembly has a very thin indium (In) layer soldered the resonator and its silica base (case), but effects of internal resonances between operational modal pair of the shell-cup and its side (parasitic) modes can notable degrade the potential of the sensor as a whole, instead of so low level of resonator's intrinsic losses. Unfortunately, there are special combinations of dimensions of the parts (so-called, "resonant sizes"), when intensive losses of energy occurs. The authors proposed to use the length of stem's fixture as an additional design parameter to avoid such cases. So-called, a cyclic scheme of finite element method (FEM) and ANSYS software were employed to estimate different combinations of gyro assembly parameters. This variant has no mismatches of numerical origin due to FEM's discrete mesh. The optimum length and dangerous "resonant lengths" have been found. The special attention has been paid to analyses of 3D effects in a cup-stem transient zone, including determination of a difference between the positions of geometrical Pole of the resonant hemisphere and of its "dynamical Pole", i.e., its real zone of oscillation node. Boundary effects between the shell (cup) and 3D short "beams" (inner and outer stems) have been ranged. The results of the numerical experiments have been compared with the classic model of a quasi-hemispherical shell band with inextensional midsurface, and the solution using Rayleigh's functions of the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ kinds. To guarantee the truth of the recommended sizes to a designer of the real device, the analytical and FEM results have been compared with experimental data for a party of real resonators. The consistency of the results obtained by different means has been shown with errors less than 5%. The results notably differ from the data published earlier by different researchers.
As the necessity of forest conservation and management has been increased, various forest studies using LIDAR data have been actively performed. These studies often utilize the tree height as an important parameter to measure the forest quantitatively. This study thus attempt to apply two representative methods to estimate tree height from airborne LIDAR data and compare the results. The first method based on the detection of the individual trees using a local maximum filter estimates the number of trees, the position and heights of the individual trees, and the mean tree height. The other method estimates the maximum and mean tree height, and the crown mean height for each grid cell or the entire area from the canopy height model (CHM) and height histogram. In comparison with the field measurements, 76.6% of the individual trees are detected correctly; and the estimated heights of all trees and only conifer trees show the RMSE of 1.91m and 0.75m, respectively. The tree mean heights estimated from CHM retain about 1~2m RMSE, and the histogram method underestimates the tree mean height with about 0.6m. For more accurate derivation of diverse forest information, we should select and integrate the complimentary methods appropriate to the tree types and estimation parameters.
