  • As Geographic Information Systems represent three dimensional topological information, The Systems provide accurate and delicate services for users. In order to execute three dimensional topological operations, a dimensional transformation and heterogeneous spatial models should be used. However, the existing systems that use the dimensional transformation and the heterogeneous models, is not only difficult to operate the spatial operators, but also happened to support non-interoperability. Therefore, in order to solve the problems, we proposed three dimensional spatial object models that supported two dimensional object models and implemented them to show validity of the proposed models. When designing the three dimensional topological operators, we used 3DE-9IM which extended DE-9IM to support three dimensional concepts, and implemented operators on the component environment with object oriented concepts. The proposed three dimensional spatial object models and topological operators can support interoperability between systems, and execute spatial queries efficiently on three dimensional spatial objects.

  • In this study, we transformed 4680 type lithium-ion batteries to 3-dimensional CAD models and present a methodology to detect defects using Radon inverse transformation. Transparency was applied to the model to make it look like a CT image when viewed from the front. One normal and three defect models were created and analyzed. The models were saved as image files while rotating at a certain angle. Then, we used the Radon inverse transformation to reconstruct the original 3D geometry from the image files. Finally, we successfully found defects in the defect models for three cases.

  • Aragonite is one of polymorphs of calcium carbonate of which main form is calcite. We found that white precipitate is formed in much amount by boiling underwater of Inchon, Korea and confirmed that it is aragonite. This study is to evaluate the dimensional characteristics, solubility, acid resistance of aragonite and the cytotoxicity, cell division disturbance and cell transforming ability of it on BALB/3T3 cells. The results are as follows: Lengths of the aragonite were reduced to the 72.7% and 22.7% respectively after 5 months and 7 months of intrapleurai injection to the Sprague-Dawley rat. Strong acid such as 1M HCl dissolved the aragonite instantly but weaker acid pH 2.0 or more could not dissolved aragonite easily. The result of cell growth inhibition showed that cell numbers were decreased as log-doses of treatment of the aragonite were increased 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours later. Cell plating efficiency after the aragonite treatment also showed dose-dependent decrease. Multinuclear giant cell formation was increased in the aragonite treated cells until ID$_{50}$ and after the dose the multinucleate cells were decreased, but remained much higher than negative control cells. Morphological transformation assay showed that the aragonite did not induce transformation in all treated doses.

  • In the present paper, we describe the action of isometry groups of 30dimensional weakly symmetric spaces and classify 3-dimensional connected weaky symmetric spaces. Further, we determine 3-dimensional weakly symmetric spaces in terms of the eigen- values of the Ricci transformation.

  • In this paper, the modified direct method employing beam transformation technique is proposed in order to efficiently calculate hydroelastic responses of floating structure. Since the proposed method expresses the displacements of three-dimensional structure with those of transformed beam which leads to small number of equations of motion, the method is numerically efficient compared to the conventional direct method. To verify the efficiency of the proposed method a 500 m-long floating structure under wave loads is considered in numerical example. Displacements, bending moments, torsion moments and shear forces are calculated and computing tine is examined. The results are also compared with those of the conventional direct method.

  • This study conducts to analyze comparative accuracy when both Image Transformation Methods and Supervised Classifications on multi-spectral TM using a case of Lower Tumen River Area. In terms of overall classification accuracy, maximum likelihood method turns out higher than other one, but in a case of vegetation only, MNF and TC image transformation methods produce a better quality of the result. Especially, seven dimensional images including MNF, TC, and NDVI create better image than three dimensional one. Among these transformation methods, maximum likelihood method results out the best one. Multi-spectral image could be useful as an important basic material for site selection of industrial allocation as well as Tumen River Area Economic Development Plan.

  • In this paper, the historical coordinates data of origin SUWON are reviewed and determination procedures are explained with the three dimensional geocentric coordinates of ITRF94 that is determined using VLBI observations. Also three translation parameters are calculated on the origin point. The national transformation parameters between the Korean geodetic system and Korean Terrestrial Reference Frame 1994(KTRF94) system, are determined using least square methods with weigted parameter constraints. The results of transformation show that one set of parameters are applicable to fixing of a position for GPS relative positioning processing and to adjusting of a network for three dimensional geocentric coordinates(KTRF94) computing.

  • SGBEM(Symmetric Galerkin Boundary Element Method)-FEM alternating method has been proposed by Nikishkov, Park and Atluri. In the proposed method, arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional crack problems can be solved by alternating between the crack solution in an infinite body and the finite element solution without a crack. In the previous study, the SGBEM-FEM alternating method was extended further in order to solve elastic-plastic crack problems and to obtain elastic-plastic stress fields. For the elastic-plastic analysis the algorithm developed by Nikishkov et al. is used after modification. In the algorithm, the initial stress method is used to obtain elastic-plastic stress and strain fields. In this paper, elastic-plastic J integrals for three-dimensional cracks are obtained using the method. For that purpose, accurate values of displacement gradients and stresses are necessary on an integration path. In order to improve the accuracy of stress near crack surfaces, coordinate transformation and partitioning of integration domain are used. The coordinate transformation produces a transformation Jacobian, which cancels the singularity of the integrand. Using the developed program, simple three-dimensional crack problems are solved and elastic and elastic-plastic J integrals are obtained. The obtained J integrals are compared with the values obtained using a handbook solution. It is noted that J integrals obtained from the alternating method are close to the values from the handbook.
