To testy time division scheme, we performed some experiments in a circular water tank(13m in diameter and 1m deep). A result of that is shown in figure 4. The 2-dimensional position of the pinger was calculated by the method of hyperbolic line of position calculation. The resolution of the time difference on the base line is 2.5cm. In experiments, the multiple pingers of a single frequency were distinguished and tracked successfully. When the experiment is carried out in the water tank, some multi-path pulses always occur. To delete it, several 10 ms of time delay is inserted onto the program after a group of the normal signals are received. Some normal pulses are not received by the time delay, however there is no problem, practically, for the distinction and the tracking of the pulse. In 2-dimensional positioning, the pinger position can be calculated with three hydrophones. However, if four hydrophones are available, the positioning accuracy will be higher than three hydrophones only by some techniques. Another good feature of the use of four hydrophones is that the positioning of the pinger is capable if a hydrophone fails in receiving them. We also tested this distinguishing method in the field using another type pingers(APPENDIXA).

Digital fingerprinting schemes are cryptographic methods that a seller can identify a traitor who illegally redistributed digital contents by embedding it into buyer's information. Recently, Josep Domingo-Ferrer suggested an anonymous digital fingerprinting scheme based on committed oblivious transfer protocol. It is significant in the sense that it is completely specified from a computation point of view and is thus readily implementable. But this scheme has the serious problem that it cannot provide the security of buyers. In this paper, we first show how to break the existing committed oblivious transfer-based fingerprinting schemes and then suggest secure fingerprinting scheme by introducing oblivious transfer protocol with two-lock cryptosystem based on discrete logarithm. All computations are performed efficiently and the security degree is strengthened in our proposal.

A new biotelemetry method that the installation and the treatment of equipment is convenient and the instantaneously detailed location of the fish attached the pinger is able to track comparatively easily was developed. The receiving system in this biotelemetry method was advanced for track the detailed behavior of the fish by the miniature tracking pinger, because it was a burden to fish to add the pinger with the water temperature and the pressure sensor. By combining of the super short base line (SSBL) method to detect the direction of pinger and the pinger synchronizing method to measure the range from receiving transducer to pinger, the three dimensional locations of fish to the receiving transducer is gotten instantaneously. The receiving system is devised to realize the high precision or wide detection range by application of the basic design method for receiving system of biotelemetry developed by the present authors and the hydrophone array configuration. The measurement distance error in the pinger synchronizing method is minimized through the correction of which the deviation of transmission pluse period of pinger is caused by changing water temperature. A prototype system which is able to track the instantaneously detailed location of the fish by the SSBL and pinger synchronizing biotelemetry (SPB) method was produced.
Fingerprinting scheme supports the copyright protection to track redistributors of digital content using cryptographic techniques. Fingerprinting schemes should guarantee buyer's anonymity and asymmetry for their privacy. Most of known fingerprinting schemes adopt public-key cryptosystems to achieve asymmetry and discrete logarithm problem or graph isomorphism problem to achieve anonymity. However, these schemes are not suited in mobile environment because of the drawbacks of requiring high computational complexity. In this paper, we propose an efficient fingerprinting scheme for mobile environment to provide not only asymmetry of the protocol but also transaction anonymity of the buyer. By employing symmetric encryption to encrypt the digital content and adopting agent to perform the protocols, the efficiency of the proposed scheme is improved.
Three species of Italian poplar (Populus euramericana), red pine (Pinus densiflora) and oriental oak (Quercus variabilis) were selected for this study. They were cut so that the distances between each of tips and roots for a pair of fingers were 0, 0.15, 0.30 and 0.45 mm. Poly vinyl acetate (PVAc) and resorcinol-phenol resin (RPR) were used for finger-jointing. Compressive test parallel to the grain was conducted for the finger-jointed specimens. The results were as follows: The efficiency of compressive Young's modulus of finger-jointed timber to solid wood indicated low values, whereas the efficiency of compressive strength indicated high values of more than 90% in all species, especially, it was found that those of red pine indicated markedly high values of more than 97%. The efficiency of compressive displacement of Italian poplar finger-jointed timber was 2 times higher than solid wood, and it was 1.2 and 1.3 times higher than solid woods in red pine and oriental oak, respectively. Also, it was found that 0, the distance between each tip and root for the fingers, indicated the highest efficiency of compressive strength performance in Italian poplar finger-jointed timber, and for red pine and oriental oak finger-jointed timbers, the distances of 0.15 and 0.30 were found to indicate the highest efficiency.

In recent years, copyright violations from illegal copying and distribution of e-comic contents have become an important issue. Fingerprinting techniques have been emerged to provide a fast and reliable identification method of identifying e-comic contents. When illegally scanned or camera captured comic contents are distributed, they suffer from distortions. So the fingerprint differs from the original version. This paper presents a restoration framework for correcting geometric distortions in distorted comics to improve the comic content identification.

In recent years, indoor localization has been researched for the improvement of its localization accuracy capability in Wi-Fi environment. The fingerprint and RF propagation models has been the main approach in determining indoor positioning. With the use of fingerprint, a low-cost, versatile localization system can be achieved without the use of external hardware. However, only a few research have been made on virtual access points (VAPs) among indoor localization models. In this paper, the idea of indoor localization system using fingerprint with the addition of VAP in Wi-Fi environment is discussed. The idea is to virtually add APs in the existing indoor Wi-Fi system, this would mean additional virtually APs in the network. The experiments of the proposed algorithm shows the positive results when 2VAPs are used compared with only APs. A combination of 3APs and 2VAPs in the 3rd case had the lowest average error of 3.99 among its 4 scenarios.

This paper presents a novel implementation on multimedia fingerprinting algorithm based on BCH (Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem) code. The evaluation is put in force the colluder detection to n-1. In the proposed algorit hm, the used collusion attacks adopt logical combinations (AND, OR and XOR) and average computing (Averaging). The fingerprinting code is generated as below step: 1. BIBD {7,4,1} code is generated with incidence matrix. 2. A new encoding method namely combines BIBD code with BCH code, these 2 kind codes are to be fingerprinting code by BCH encoding process. 3. The generated code in step 2, which would be fingerprinting code, that characteristic is similar BCH {15,7} code. 4. With the fingerprinting code in step 3, the collusion codebook is constructed for the colluder detection. Through an experiment, it confirmed that the ratio of colluder detection is 86.6% for AND collusion, 32.8% for OR collusion, 0% for XOR collusion and 66.4% for Averaging collusion respectively. And also, XOR collusion could not detect entirely colluder and on the other hand, AND and Averaging collusion could detect n-1 colluders and OR collusion could detect k colluders.
