Evaluation of Soil Loss with Surface Covering Methods Using Strip Tillage Seeding Device

  • Most fields in highland areas are covered with rye or hairy vetch for conservation during a fallow. However, using cover crops needs an effort to sow, and this makes top soil more vulnerable to loss due to surface disturbances. The aims of this study were to develop an automatic seeding-regulator device using a low-price, extensive-use GPS sensors and a DC motors and to evaluate a working efficiency of it after adaptation to partial tillage machine for reducing seeding effort. The amount of runoff water and soil loss was evaluated with partial tillage and simultaneous-seeding after harvesting soybean, in 17% slope lysimeters. In results, the seeding amount with the machine speed was stable between $0.5{\sim}0.8m\;s^{-1}$ of working sections. The automatic control device of seeding-rate could be enough to solve the slip problems of power selecting supply system or five four-wheel drive device. In partial tillage and simultaneous seeding, runoff water was 11.6% ($1.8m^3ha^{-1}$) of the scatter-seeding control ($15.5m^3ha^{-1}$) and soil loss was 13.2% ($7kg\;ha^{-1}$) of the scatter-seeding control ($53kg\;ha^{-1}$). These results suggest that partial tillage and simultaneous-seeding methods are very effective in decreasing work effort and soil loss of sloped land.

강합성교 설계를 위한 하중분배계수 간략식 (Simplified Load Distribution Factor Equation for the Design of Composite Steel Girder Bridges)

  • 강합성 교량의 설계시 종방향 모멘트에 하중분배계수를 고려하여 주형의 최대 모멘트를 계산하고 있다. 이러한 하중분배계수식은 1930년경부터 AASHTO 시방서에 채택된 이후 소폭의 수정을 거듭해 오다가 1994년 LRFD 시방서부터 전폭적으로 수정되었다. LRFD 시방서의 하중분배계수 식은 실제 교량의 거동을 비교적 정확히 반영하고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 하지만 LRFD식은 설계모멘트 결정단계에서는 확정할 수 없는 종방향 강성계수를 포함하고 있으므로 반복을 통한 설계를 요구한다. 이러한 LRFD식이 내포하는 반복 설계과정으로 인해 실무에서는 널리 쓰이지 않고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 반복 설계과정을 필요로 하지 않는 I형 강합성교량의 하중분배간략식을 LRFD식에 근거하여 도출하였다. 간략식의 검증을 위해 43개의 대표교량의 유한요소해석을 통해 구한 엄밀 하중분배계수와 AASHTO LRFD 식, AASHTO Standard 식으로 구한 하중분배계수와 비교하였다. 그 결과 간략식이 구조물의 안전성을 확보하면서 반복계산을 필요로 하지 않는 것으로 확인되었다.

공간특성 및 이용행태 분석을 통한 노인전문요양시설 프로그램실 계획에 관한 연구 (A Study of Act Room Planning in Skilled Nursing Facilities for the Elderly through the Analysis of Spatial Characteristics and Using Behavior)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate spatial characteristics and using behavior of activity room in skilled nursing facilities for the elderly and to provide basic guidelines about its space planning. The activity rooms in the most of the research facilities were arranged by usage modification of unnecessary spaces after the foundation of the facility, and were used not only for the program service but for the staff lounge. It decreased space speciality and resulted in limited area of the space and crowded furniture arrangement. The design guidelines for activity room were as follows. First, the space plan of activity room is based on the use of once to twice per week and for 30 minutes per use, and is mainly for the human knowledge and art programs that are appropriate for small group. Second, the activity room of the facility with less than 3 stories needs to be in the same floor as elderly individual room, but should be independent and easy to be controlled by the staff. On the other hand, in more than 4 stories facility, it is better to be in the different floor as the elderly living area such as administrational area close to the lounge and garden. Third, at least $5.9m^{2}$ per user for the area of the activity room is recommended including the elderly, staff, furniture, equipments and restroom. Fourth, the furniture of activity room includes the shelves, big table with enough knee space, wheel, and stopper, and stackable chairs. Toilets and water closet are needed for the emergency, and the windows to the corridor and curtain door should be avoided for soundproof and easy access of wheelchair users.

콘크리트 모듈러 도로 축하중 거동 분석을 통한 설계 타당성 검증 (Design Validation through Analysis of Concrete Modular Road Behavior under Static Axial Loads)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to validate the design criteria of the concrete modular road system, which is a new semi-bridge-type concept road, through a comparison of numerical analysis results and actual loading test results under static axial loads. METHODS : To design the semi-bridge-type modular road, both the bridge design code and the concrete structural design code were adopted. The standard truck load (KL-510) was applied as the major traffic vehicle for the design loading condition. The dimension of the modular slab was designed in consideration of self-weight, axial load, environmental load, and combined loads, with ultimate limit state coefficients. The ANSYS APDL (2010) program was used for case studies of center and edge loading, and the analysis results were compared with the actual mock-up test results. RESULTS : A full-scale mock-up test was successfully conducted. The maximum longitudinal steel strains were measured as about 35 and 83.5 micro-strain (within elastic range) at center and edge loading locations, respectively, under a 100 kN dual-wheel loading condition by accelerating pavement tester. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the results of the comparison between the numerical analysis and the full-scale test, the maximum converted stress range at the edge location is 32~51% of the required standard flexural strength under the two times over-weight loading condition. In the case of edge loading, the maximum converted stresses from the Westergaard equation, the ANSYS APDL analysis, and the mock-up test are 1.95, 1.7, and 2.3 times of that of the center loading case, respectively. The primary reason for this difference is related to the assumption of the boundary conditions of the vertical connection between the slab module and the crossbeam module. Even though more research is required to fully define the boundary conditions, the proposed design criteria for the concrete modular road finally seems to be reasonable.

  • An aspherical lens, which resolves several problems with a spherical lens,typically serves asa key part of an optical system. Generally, an aspherical lens is fabricated using a diamond turning machine or by mean of injection molding. However, residual stress and/or tool marks can arise when using a commercial fabricating method such as DTM or injection molding. A polishing process, thus, is commonly used to obtain a high-precision aspherical lens. In this study, a polishing method using MR fluid was applied to minimize several problems, in this case residual stress and the creation of tool marks, during the cutting process. The MR polishing system was developed to polish aspherical lenses. A series of experiments were performed to obtain a very fine surface roughness. PMMA (the lens material for molding) was used as a workpiece, and the gap size, magnetic field intensity, wheel speed and feed rate were selected as the parameters in this study. Finally, a very fine surface roughness of Ra=2.12nm was obtained after MR polishing.

  • 고분자 전해질막 연료전지에서 공급 기체의 가습은 연료전지의 효율과 수명 향상 측면에서 필수적이다. 기존의 고분자 전해질막 연료전지의 가습 방법으로 물 분사나 막가습기, 엔탈피 휠 등이 사용되었다. 하지만, 이러한 외부 가습 방법은 시스템 부피를 크게 하고 고출력 구간에서 가습량이 부족한 단점이 있다. 가습 장치의 효율과 전체 연료전지 시스템 효율을 높이려면, 연료전지의 고온다습한 배출기체로부터 열과 수분을 회수할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 연료전지의 고온다습한 배출공기를 재순환하여 공급공기를 1 차로 가습하고 소형의 막가습기로 2 차 가습하는 복합가습에 대한 해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 그리고 최적의 가습 시스템 설계를 위한 새로운 방법을 제안하였다.

D* 서치와 퍼지 알고리즘을 이용한 모바일 로봇의 충돌회피 주행제어 알고리즘 설계 (Development of a Navigation Control Algorithm for Mobile Robots Using D* Search and Fuzzy Algorithm)

  • 이 논문은 모바일 로봇이 고정 장애물 또는 움직이는 장애물이 존재하는 환경에서 장애물을 회피하며 운행될 수 있는 제어 알고리즘을 연구하였다. 이 제어 알고리즘은 $D^*$ 알고리즘과, 충돌 위험도 퍼지로직, 이동로봇의 행동결정 퍼지로직을 사용하여 전역경로계획과 지역경로계획을 수행한다. $D^*$ 알고리즘에는 로봇이 이동하는 2 차원 공간을 정방형 격자 분활하여 적용한다. 이 알고리즘은 파이썬 프로그래밍 언어와 이동로봇의 운동방정식을 사용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 알고리즘을 적용하여 로봇이 이동하는 장애물을 피하거나 모르는 고정 장애물을 피하면서 원하는 위치로 이동하는 것을 볼 수 있다.

초정밀 금형가공기를 이용한 비구면 렌즈 가공특성 연구 (Characteristics of aspheric lens processing using ultra-precision moulds processing system)

  • The fabrication of precision optical components by deterministic CNC grinding is an area of great current interest. Replacement of the traditional, craftsman driven, optical fabrication process is essential to reduce costs and increase process flexibility and reliability. Moreover, CNC grinding is well suited to the fabrication of complex shapes such as aspheres, making it possible to design optical systems with fewer components and reduced weight. Current technology is capable of producing surfaces with less than 2 microns peak to valley error, 50 nm rms surface roughness, and less than 1 micron subsurface damage. Bound abrasive tools, in which the abrasive particles are fixed in a second (matrix) material, play an important part in achieving this performance. In this paper, the factors affecting the ultra-fine surface roughness and profile accuracy of machined surfaces of aspheric parts has been analyzed experimentally and theoretically and on ultra-precision aspheric grinding system and precise adjusting mechanism have been designed and manufactured. In the paper we report the results of experiments and modeling performed to examine the effects of machinability, occurring during grinding of optical surfaces, on the tool surface profile. Profiles of machined surface were measured by using SEM. In order to optimize grinding conditions of aspheric lens processing, we performed experiments by design of experiments.

  • In order to investigate the pharmacological activities of the combined preparation of crude drugs, Chunghyulgangki-Tang was studied. Chunghyulgangki-Tang has been widely used to cerebral apoploxy, hypertension and arteriosclerosis, etc. In this study, water extract of Chunghyulgangki-Tang was conducted in attempt to investigate for analgesic, sedative, antipyretic, isolated ileum and heart, blood vessels and blood pressure action in mice, frogs, rats, guinea-pigs and rabbits. The following results were obtained; Analgesic action by the acetic acid stimulating method in mice was recognized. Sedative activities by the wheel cage method and rotor rod method in mice were shown. Prolonged action against the hypnotic duration induced by thiopental-Na was significantly noted in mice. The effect of antipyretic in endotoxin febrile rats was significantly recognized. Spontaneous motility of the isolated ilem of mice was suppressed and contractions of the isolated ileum of mice and guinea-pigs induced by acetylcholine chloride, barium chloride and histamine were remarkably inhibited. Acceleration of isolated heart motility was shown in frogs. Vaso-dilating and hypotensive actions were recognized in rabbits. According to the above results, effects based on the oriental medicinal references were approximate to the actural experimental results.

600 mm 급 다기능 광폭 센터리스 연삭시스템 개발 (Development of Multi-functional Centerless Grinding System with 600 mm Wide Grinding Wheels)

  • We report a centerless grinding machine which can perform multi-function with 600 mm wide grinding wheels. By increasing manufacturing area, long workpiece such as camshaft and steering shaft, is allowed to grind more quickly, compared with cylindrical grinding system. In this paper, the design of centerless grinding machine puts emphasis on symmetry to exploit the thermal stability. Results of finite element analysis shows that the difference of the structural deflection in the front and rear guideways is less than $1.5{\mu}m$ due to symmetric design. The difference is less than $3.0{\mu}m$, even though the thermal deformation is considered. According to the performance evaluation, the radial error motion of the G/W spindle, which is measured by applying Donaldson Ball Reversal, is about 1.1${\mu}m$. The yaw error of the G/W slide is improved from 2.1 arcsec to 0.5 arcsec by readjusting the slide preload and ball screw.
