리트벨트 정밀화법에 의한 Fe/Co 안료가 코팅된 도자기의 상분석 (Phase evaluation of Fe/Co pigments coated porcelain by rietveld refinement)

  • 본 연구는 백자와 청자 소지에 철/코발트 황하물의 안료를 시유하여 1250℃에서 소성한 도자기 표면의 상형성을 연구하였다. 시편의 특성은 X-선 회절분석기, 전계방사형 주사전자현미경, 에너지 분산형 엑스선분석기 및 UV-vis 분광계를 이용하였다. X-선 리트벨트 정밀화 분석으로 백자소지는 석영과 뮬라이트가, 청자소지는 뮬라이트와 plagioclase가 주 결정상이다. 백자와 청자소지에 철/코발트 황하물의 안료를 시유한 경우 백자는 스피넬상이 청자는 andradite 상의 이차상이 형성되었다. 시편 소지의 색상은 밝기인 L* 값은 백자와 청자소지가 72.01, 60.92이고 백자가 청자소지 보다는 백색도가 높다. 철/코발트 황하물의 안료를 도포한 시편에서 백자와 청자 시편의 경우, L* 값은 44.89, 52.27, a* 값은 2.12, 1.40, b* 값은 1.4 5, 13.79를 각각 보이고 있다. L* 값은 백자소지에 안료를 도포한 시편에서 큰 변화가 있으며, b* 값은 소지에 따라 크게 차이가 나는 것을 알 수가 있다. 이는 표면층에 생성되는 Fe2O3 상과 andradite 결정상 생성과 밀접한 관련이 있다.

Finite element analysis of CFRP laminate repairs on damaged end regions of prestressed concrete bridge girders

  • Over the past couple decades, externally bonded fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites have emerged as a repair and strengthening material for many concrete infrastructure applications. This paper presents an analytical investigation of the use of carbon FRP (CFRP) for a specific problem that occurs in concrete bridge girders wherein the girder ends are damaged by excessive exposure to deicing salts and numerous freezing/thawing cycles. A 3D finite element (FE) model of a full scale prestressed concrete (PC) I-girder is used to investigate the effect of damage to the cover concrete and stirrups in the end region of the girder. Parametric studies are performed using externally bonded CFRP shear laminates to determine the most effective repair schemes for the damaged end region under a short shear span-to-depth ratio. Experimental results on shear pull off tests of CFRP laminates that have undergone accelerated aging are used to calibrate a bond stress-slip model for the interface between the FRP and concrete substrate and approximate the reduced bond stress-slip properties associated with exposure to the environment that causes this type of end region damage. The results of these analyses indicate that this particular application of this material can be effective in recovering the original strength of PC bridge girders with damaged end regions, even after environmental aging.

Extraction of La(III) by a nonionic microemulsion containing D2EHPA in hollow fiber contactor

  • This study aimed to prepare a W/O nonionic microemulsion system(MEs) consisting of OP-4[polyoxyethylene(4) nonylphenol], OP-7[polyoxyethylene(7) nonylphenol], 1-hexanol, D2EHPA, kerosene and HCl solution and applied to the extraction of La(III) from chloride aqueous solution within the polysulfone hollow fiber contactor (HFC),laboratory-scale experiments were carried out to investigate the recovery of La(III) using as-prepared microemulsion from the simulation wastewater containing La(III),Al(III) and Fe(III). The right weight ratio(Rs) of OP-4 to OP-7 was firstly confirmed through determination of the solubilization capacity of HCl solution(W0,HCl) in microemulsion, the effect of several factors such as the HCl concentration, temperature and effective extraction time on the extraction efficiency of La(III) was discussed. Results showed that the acceptable Rs was 4:6 to prepare the W/O MEs. The extraction yield of La(III) increased with the increasing of HCl concentration, temperature and effective extraction time and reaches to 97.3% while using five-stage modules. The recovery yield of La(III) from simulation La-bearing wastewater was 90.6%.

  • This paper deals with the thrust calculations and the measurements of a cylindrical Linear Oscillatory Actuator (LOA) sing Transfer Relations Theorem (TRT), namely, Melcher's methodology. Using transfer relations derived in terms of a magnetic vector potential and a two-dimensional (2-d) cylindrical coordinate system, this paper derives analytical solutions for the magnetic vector potential, magnetic fields due to Permanent Magnets (PMs) and stator winding currents and the thrust. The analytical results are validated by non-linear Finite Element (FE) analyses. In particular, test results such as thrust and back-emf measurements are given to confirm the analysis.

  • Friction welding was used to weld the turbine wheel and shaft and have a good welding quality. Friction welding was conducted an the two dissimilar material, Nimonic 80A and SNCrW. The control of friction welding process parameter such as flywheel energy, interface temperature, amount of upset have an effect on the mechanical properties of the welded joint. FE simulation can be a useful tool to optimize the weld geometry and process parameters. Flash shape and thickness weld is consistent with the simulated results. Process analysis was performed by the commercial code DEFORM 2D. Mechanical property of weld joints was evaluated by microstructure, chemical component, tensile, impact, hardness test so on.

A Design Optimization of Asymmetric Air-gap Structure for Small 3-phase Permanent Magnet SPM BLDC Motor

  • As many researchers are relentlessly trying to improve the power generation schemes from the power grid, to meet the constantly increasing electricity demand. In this paper, the results of a finite element analysis are carried out to study on a design optimization of an asymmetric air-gap structure in 3-phase Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motors. To achieve a high efficiency for a 3-phase PM BLDC motor, the asymmetric air-gap structure is proposed considering the rotation direction of a motor. Generally, a single-phase BLDC motor is applied asymmetric air-gap structure for starting. This is because the asymmetric air-gap structure causes reluctance variation so the motor can utilize reluctance torque toward a rotation direction. In this paper, the asymmetric air-gap is applied to 3-phase BLDC SPM motor so it utilizes reluctance torque with alignment torque. A proposed model is designed by 2-D FE analysis and the results are verified by experimental test.

Weissella cibaria가 생산하는${\alpha}$-Galactosidase 및 ${\beta}$-Glucosidase의 특성 (Characterization of ${\alpha}$-Galactosidase and ${\beta}$-Glucosidase by Weissella cibaria)

  • 대두의 발효를 통하여 생리활성을 가지고 있는 이소플라본 aglycone 함량을 높이기 위한 ${\beta}$-glucosidase와 대두에 다량 함유되어 있는 stachyose, rafinose와 같은 난소화성 oligosaccharides를 분해하기 위해 ${\alpha}$-galactosidase 효소 분비 미생물을 김치로부터 ${\alpha}$-galactosidase와 ${\beta}$-glucosidase를 생산하는 미생물을 탐색하였다. 탐색과정을 위해서 선별한 미생물을 16S rDNA sequencing 동정한 결과, Weissella cibaria 동정되어 Weissella cibaria K-M1-4로 명명하였다. Weissella cibaria K-Ml-4를 대두 액체배지에서 18시간동안 배양한 후, 생산한 효소는 배양액을 에탄을 침전, DEAE sepharose, sephacryl S-100HR column chromatography 통하여 ${\alpha}$-galactosidase의 경우, 정제도 5.3배, 수율 3.5% 그리고 ${\beta}$-glucosidase의 경우, 정제도 4.4배, 수율 2.9%로 정제되었다. ${\alpha}$-Galactosidase 효소특성은 $60^{\circ}C$에서 최대 활성을 나타내었으며, $80^{\circ}C$에서 30분 처리시 43% 잔존활성을 보였다. pH 8.0에서 최대 활성을 나타내었으며, pH 5.0-9.0에서 안정하였다. 금속이온에 대한 영향에서 $Fe^{2+}$$Cu^{2+}$을 첨가하였을 때 효소 활성이 증가하였다. p-Nitrophenyl-${\alpha}$-D-galacto-pyranoside (PNPG) 기질에 대한 Km은 0.98 mM이었고, Vmax는 $1.81{\mu}$mole/min 이었다. ${\beta}$-Glucosidase 효소 특성은 $50^{\circ}C$에서 최대 활성을 나타내었으며, $80^{\circ}C$에서 30분 처리시 46% 잔존활성을 보였다. pH 7.0에서 최대 활성을 나타내었으며, pH 5.0-9.0에서 안정하였다. 금속이온에 대한 영향에서 $Fe^{2+},\;Co^{2+},\;Cu^{2+}$을 첨가하였을 때 효소 활성이 증가하였다. p-Nitrophenyl-${\beta}$-D-gluco-pyranoside (PNPG)에 대한 Km값은 1.24mM이었고, Vmax는 $6.81{\mu}$mole/min 이었다.

BLDC 전동기의 정현적 공극 자속밀도 구현에 의한 코깅 토크 저감 (Reduction of Cogging Torque of BLDC Motor by Sinusoidal Air-Gap Flux Density Distribution)

  • Along with the development of power electronics and magnetic materials, permanent magnet (PM) brushless direct current (BLDC) motors are now widely used in many fields of modern industry BLDC motors have many advantages such as high efficiency, large peak torque, easy control of speed, and reliable working characteristics. However, Compared with the other electric motors without a PM, BLDC motors with a PM have inherent cogging torque. It is often a principle source of vibration, noise and difficulty of control in BLDC motors. Cogging torque which is produced by the interaction of the rotor magnetic flux and angular variation in the stator magnetic reluctance can be reduced by sinusoidal air-gap flux density waveform due to reduction of variation of magnetic reluctance. Therefore, this paper will present a design method of magnetizing system for reduction of cogging torque and low manufacturing cost of BLDC motor with isotropic bonded neodynium-iron-boron (Nd-Fe-B) magnets in ring type by sinusoidal air-gap flux density distribution. An analytical technique of magnetization makes use of two-dimensional finite element method (2-D FEM) and Preisach model that expresses the hysteresis phenomenon of magnetic materials in order for accurate calculation. In addition, For optimum design of magnetizing fixture, Factorial design which is one of the design of experiments (DOE) is used.

  • Recently, three-dimensional (3D) light harvesting structures are highly attracted because of their high light harvesting capacity and charge collection efficiencies. In this study, we have fabricated $Cu_2ZnSn(S_xSe_{1-x})_4$ based 3D thin film solar cells on PR patterned Molybdenum (Mo) substrates using photolithography technique. Specifically, Mo patterns were deposited on PR patterned Mo substrates by sputtering and the thin Cu-Zn-Sn stacked layer was deposited over this Mo patterns by sputtering technique. The stacked Zn-Sn-Cu precursor thin films were sulfo-selenized to form CZTSSe pattern. Finally, CZTSSe absorbers were coated with thin CdS layer using chemical bath deposition and ZnO window layer was deposited over CZTSSe/CdS using DC sputtering technique. Fabricated 3-D solar cells were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis, Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) to study their structural, compositional and morphological properties, respectively. The 3% efficiency is achieved for this kind of solar cell. Further efforts will be carried out to improve the performance of solar cell through various optimizations.

B2S궤도 적용에 따른 철도교량의 동적안정성 검토 (Evaluation of the Dynamic Stability of Subway Bridge in the Applying B2S Track)

  • This paper presents an analytic study for replacement of the ballast track in existing subway bridge by the Precast slab panel(B2S) track. To evaluate the dynamic responses on application of B2S track, the time history analysis with the 3D modeling. A total of two models, which were one ballast track bridge and B2S track bridge, were used in the FE analysis. The results of this study show that the dynamic displacement and acceleration of the B2S track bridge were significantly reduced for a higher train speed, compared to the ballast track bridge. Also, the replacement of the ballast track bridge in existing subway bridge by the B2S track increased the structural safety of bridge and ensured sufficient dynamic stability and serviceability. As a result, the servicing subway bridge with B2S track system has need of the reasonable measures which could be reducing the static and dynamic response and improving the performance.
