Study of Dried Korean Native Plants Using for Floral Clusters (건조 자생식물 종별 꽃다발 이용 가능성 검토)

  • Korean native plants were investigated for their suitability to be used for floral clusters after drying. Floral clusters which were made in semi-sphere with a hand-tied method and can be fit in $22{\times}22{\times}37cm$ paper boxes were made with 37 species. Among 37 species, the 14 species which were easy to dry, to make floral clusters, and have not been used in other countries, were Echinochloa crus-galli var. frumentacea, Imperata cylindrica var. koenigii, Muhlenbergia huegelii, Phleum pratense, Setaria glauca, and Setaria viridis in Gramineae, Artemisia capillaris, Artemisia montana, and Chrysanthemum indicum in Compositae, Agastache rugosa, Elsholtzia ciliata, Elsholtzia splendens in Labiatae, Carex neurocarpa in Cyperaceae, and Vitex rotundifolia in Verbenaceae were used with leaves, flowers, and fruits. The suitable plants for a floral cluster in $22{\times}22{\times}37cm$ paper box, a wreath in $22{\times}22{\times}6cm$ paper box, and a flower arrangement in $22{\times}22{\times}22cm$ paper box, which were made to a set, were 10 species, that is Phragmites communis, Setaria glauca, Setaria viridis, Artemisia capillaris, Artemisia montana, Chrysanthemum indicum, Elsholtzia ciliata, Elsholtzia splendens, Mosla punctulata, and Vitex rotundifolia.

왕염손(王念孫) 《시경고운보(詩經古韻譜)》 운례 연구

  • 《古韵谱》是王念孙研究古音的著作, 其中收录了《诗经》, 群经, 《楚辞》。《诗经》是研究古音最重要的资料, 本文以《古韵谱》中的《诗经》为研究对象。《诗经古韵谱》的韵例在数量上占有压倒性的优势, 通过该资料得出王念孙创造了古音21部的结论。但是王念孙的韵部体系从21部变为了22部, 原因是从21部中的"东部"独立出来了一个"冬部"。王念孙的22部是清代古音学考古派的最终结果, 因此它具有重大的意义。

  • A 27-year-old pregnant woman who had one son with mental and growh retardation and dysmorphic features, was referred for genetic counselling. Cytogenetic investigations revealed 4/22 translocation in the mother(46, XX, t(4;22)(p14;P11)), partial trisomy 4p in son(46, XY, -22, +der(22), t(4;22)(p14;p11)mat). The father had normal karyotype. Amniocentesis and chorionic villi sampling were performed in 3 successive pregnancies. The karyotypes of fetus in 3rd, 4th pregnancies by amniocentesis were 46, XX, t(4;22)(p14;p11) and 46, XX, t(4;22) (p14;p11), and the karyotype of fetus in 5th pregnancy by chorionic villi sampling was found to be 46, XX, -22, +der(22) t(4;22)(p14;p11)mat. We report 3 succesive prenatally diagnosed familial partial trisomy 4p and 4/22 translocation of maternal origin with review of literature.

Implementation of ANSI C12.22 Communication Protocol for Two-way Communications of Smart Meter (스마트미터의 양방향 통신을 위한 ANSI C12.22 통신 프로토콜 구현)

  • In this paper, application layer protocol of C12.22 node, defined by ANSI C12.22 is implemented. ANSI C12.22 defines application layer only among the OSI 7 layers and recommends using the existing protocols for the 1~4 layer to transmit the information. TCP/IP which is one of the generally used protocols has been applied for the transport and network layer protocol in this paper. ANSI C12.19 defines the parameters for the watt-hour meter, and C12.22 application layer defines the network services and data structures networking the watt-hour meter parameters at a minimum. This kind of services and data structures are used for the configuration, programming, monitoring of the networked watt-hour meter or collecting information of the watt-hour meter. A embedded board has been used to implement the C12.22 application layer and a test program for the AMI application server has been developed for the functional test.

  • Reports of constitutional ring chromosome 22, r(22) are rare. Individuals with r(22) present similar features as those with the 22q13 deletion syndrome. The instability in the ring chromosome contributes to the development of variable phenotypes. Central nervous system (CNS) atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumors (ATRTs) are rare, highly malignant tumors, primarily occurring in young children below 3 years of age. The majority of ATRT cases display genetic alterations of SMARCB1 (INI1/hSNF5 ), a tumor suppressor gene located on 22q11.2. The coexistence of a CNS ATRT in a child with a r(22) is rare. We present a case of a 4-month-old boy with 46,XY,r(22)(p13q13.3), generalized hypotonia and delayed development. High-resolution microarray analysis revealed a 3.5-Mb deletion at 22q13.31q13.33. At 11 months, the patient had an ATRT ($5.6cm{\times}5.0cm{\times}7.6cm$) in the cerebellar vermis, which was detected in the brain via magnetic resonance imaging.

A Study on the Performance of HCFC22 and Alternative Refrigerants in Heat Pumps (열펌프를 이용한 R22대체 혼합냉매의 성능에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is concerned about the performance of HCFC22 alternative refrigerants used in heat pumps and industrial chillers. A water-to-water breadboard heat pump with counter-current heat exchangers and a hermetic compressor was built to carry out the experiments with various refrigerants. For each test, more than 40 temperatures, 4 pressures, power input, mass flow rates of the heat transfer fluids were measured. Refrigerants tested were HCFC22, R290(Propane), an azeotrope of 45%Propane/55%R134a mixture, and a nonazeotropic mixture of Calor 50. All tests were conducted under ARI test A condition. It is found that the COP and capacity of propane were 18% and 2.5% higher than those of HCFC22 while the COP and capacity of 45%Propane/55%R134a mixture were 3.5% and 5.3% higher than those of HCFC22 respectively. Also the COP and capacity of Calor 50 were 17% and 7.8% higher than those of HCFC22. Compressor discharge temperatures of alternative refrigerants were roughly $35^{\circ}C$ lower than that of HCFC22 indicating that these refrigerants are good from the view point of compressor reliability. The charging amounts for the alternative refrigerants were reduced by 40-60% as compared to that of HCFC22. Overall, it can be said that hydrocarbon containing alternative refrigerants are excellent in thermodynamic performance but should be used with considerable care due to their flammability.

Synthesis and evaluation of PDLs22 recombinant protein (PDLs22 재조합 단백질의 합성과 평가)

  • Periodontal ligament (PDL) is the connective tissue located between the tooth root and alveolar bone. In a previous study, PDLs22 was isolated as a PDL-specific gene by using subtractive hybrid-ization between cultured PDL fibroblasts and gingival fibroblasts. It was also suggested that PDLs22 plays important roles in the development, differentiation and maintenance of periodontal tissues. However, little is known about functional study of PDLs22 using recombinant protein in PDL fibroblast differentiation and periodontium formation. In this study, in order to produce the PDLs22 recombinat protein, PDLs22 expression vector were constructed and expressed its protein in various host cell and temperature conditions. The results were as follows: 1. PDLs22 protein was not strongly expressed In the induction system using pRSET-PDLs22 construct. 2. When the BL21(DE3) pLysS was used as a expression host, PDLS22 protein was strongly ex-pressed in the induction system using pHCEIIBNd-PDLs22 construct. 3. The PDLs22 protein was recognized at a molecular weight of 28 kDa in western blots. 4. Almost of the expressed PDLs22 protein was not soluble and observed like as inclusion body. 5. The protein solubility was not improved after modification of induction time and temperature during PDLs22 protein production. In this study, the system for the PDLs22 protein production was connstructed. However, the re-results suggest that further studies will be needed to produce the considerable amount of PDLs22 re-combinat protein, which can use for the periodontal regeneration.

Proteome characterization reveals the role of pollen and pistil of W22 (ga1; Ga1) in maize

  • The first key point to the successful pollination and fertilization in plants is the pollen pistil interaction, referring to the cellular and molecular levels, which mainly play active roles in limiting gene flow among maize populations and between maize and teosinte. This study was carried out to identify proteins and investigate the mechanism of gametophytic factors using protein analysis. W22 (ga1); which didn't carry a gametophytic factor and W22 (Ga1), a near iso-genic line were used for the proteome investigation. SDS-PAGE was executed to investigate proteins in the pollen and pistil of W22 (ga1) and W22 (Ga1). A total of 44 differentially expressed proteins were identified in the pollen and pistil on SDS-PAGE using LTQ-FTICR MS. Among the 44 proteins, a total of 24 proteins were identified in the pollen of W22 (ga1) and W22 (Ga1) whereas 20 differentially expressed proteins were identified from the pistil of W22 (Ga) and W22 (Ga1). However, in pollen, 2 proteins were identified only in the W22 (ga1) and 12 proteins only in the W22 (Ga1) whereas 10 proteins were confirmed from the both of W22 (ga1) and W22 (Ga1). In contrary, 10 proteins were appeared only in the pistil of W22 (ga1) and 7 proteins from W22 (Ga1) while 3 proteins confirmed in the both of W22 (ga1) and W22 (Ga1). Moreover, the identified proteins were generally involved in hydrolase activity, nucleic acid binding and nucleotide binding. These results help to reveal the mechanism of gametophytic factors and provide a valuable clue for the pollen and pistil research in maize. In addition, it might provide a comprehensive insight on the proteins that were involved in the regulation of pollen-pistil interaction.
